Was looking at transfer odds before and Vardy to Arsenal was ridiculously low. Someone must've got a tip off because it's not been touted about much in the press.

Edit. Someone definitely got a tip off.

Very strange move, he thrives in a counter attacking system, and Arsenal plays exactly opposite to it.

Not something that would worry me. I honestly don't think he's that good. He's a had an incredible season, but I wouldn't want him here.

This is Leicester's biggest challenge for the next three months. How many players can they keep hold off?

Not much they can do to keep hold of him if he has a release clause

Strange. Arsenal need a world class forward, and they should be targeting one. Vardy is neither world class nor potentially world class.

How much is the clause?

£25m.

What do Arsenal fans make of this? Good player for the short term. But I don't think he's the world class striker they were looking for.

How exactly do they work?

Couldn't Vardy turn down the move if he wanted to stay? Or could Leicester just offer him a new deal?

I thought Arsenal would be the least likely to sign him out of all the top clubs. Thought they'd go for someone better. Vardy has Liverpool transfer written all over him

It wont work out. Will absolutely not reproduce this seasons form. I am convinced. It is such a weird move for Arsenal that i dont believe it, yet.

Wrong signing if they go ahead though. If I supported Arsenal I'd be very unhappy, Morata is out there, admitted a desire to play in EPL and £30-40m gets him. Instead Wenger opts for Vardy. Just madness. So many better strikers could be signed.

All this talk that he doesn't fit their style. Sometimes it's not about improving what you already do but adding another dimension so you can mix things up. He adds another facet to Arsenal's game making them better at counter-attacking and with his speed and movement to run the channels and pin the center halves and quality play-makers putting him in he'll be a fantastic signing.

How do release clauses work in the PL anyway? They don't seem to be regulated by the governing bodies like in Spain. Can Leicester just shoo Arsenal away like Liverpool did over Suarez?

I'd quite like Vardy to go to Arsenal, as he's one of those players that just massively suits a style of play pretty much built around his attributes, whereas at Arsenal, he'd either be shunted out wide, or compete with Giroud for a possession based team.

Would help to blow Leicester's hopes away, and not particularly strengthen Arsenal.

Out of him, Kante and Mahrez, thought he'd be the guaranteed to stay one.

If the others see him go, It's pretty likely they'll follow suit.

Was the issue that Suarez's clause wasn't as cut and dried in his contract as it could have been? I remember Pool saying they looked at it and it wasn't legally binding.
Could it also explain why we didn't just pay Fellainis? Although that is 99% most likely down to idiocy.

Arsenal clearly have more money than sense.

The guy is 30 next year and has had one good season in the top flight.

£25 million

Of all the star players there, it was Vardy who was/is expected to stay over Kante and Mahrez. If he goes, I think there'll be an exodus with Kante and Mahrez off as their reason for sticking around will have gone.

It'll be a real shame if that team is practically disbanded with Vardy the first out the door.

On another note, not sure why so many are pouring scorn on Vardy in an Arsenal team.

I think he's better than most give him credit for on here, but other posters in this thread are right, he suits Leicesters system, Arsenal play almost the direct opposite, still, he'd be an upgrade on what they have currently.

Hilariously bad move for both parties.

I'd still have him at United, think he would work well under a Mourinho system

Very interesting transfer. I think he'll be a good signing for a year or two.

Ozil and Sanchez creating chances for Vardy is definitely something for Arsenal fans to get excited about

The narrative in here would say otherwise.

Seems Vardy is supposed to be an absolute donkey by the way he's being dismissed in here.
