Gaming Football Manager 2015

Just had a look. On Classic, at least, it's just the one league.
I think it'll be a challenge enough though, with just the one league.

Not actually sure how qualification for the Champions League works there. Looks like three clubs start off in the Europa League qualification rounds in 2014.
Maybe they don't even have a Champions League qualification slot - which would be another thing to try to achieve.

The standard is very poor. You can find better players in the Conference South/North.
Would be a fun save. Extremely hard though.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if you eventually started doing well in Europe, and raking the money in.
Obviously you'd become a big name and have a stadium expansion.
Your youth facilities would mean better youth, and you could sell them to other clubs in Wales to increase the overall standard.

But surely there's a limit to how big a club can become, considering the population of Wales.
Hmmm....

Aye it's just the one league in the full game too, gonna have a look at a few of the teams now and give it a go I think. Think developing youth is the best route to go down as however well you end up doing in Europe eventually it'll still be a shite league for the most part so it'll be hard to attract decent players from anywhere else.

Yeah.

Usually I wouldn't go for one of the top teams in the league, but I will for this save. Well, I'll choose one of the clubs already in the Europa League qualifiers. Just gives a decent base to start from.
Still a hard enough task, and choosing one of the weaker teams would just add another five years+ to the whole 'project'.

Even getting into the group stages will be a tough ask, but if it's somehow managed, the club would be in a seriously strong position going forward.

Could end up like Celitc in the SPL, but if the club keeps their finances in order they might be able to get the youth system to a level where we don't need to sign load of players to compete in Europe.
Because the reality is that there will never be a point where we can attract the elite players.

Gone for Port Talbot as I wanted a decent enough squad but didn't fancy Europe in the first season after realising how shite the standard of player is in this league so thankfully they aren't in EL/CL.

Yeah think the only real option is to develop from within and hope you can get a decent run past the qualifiers going to bring in some money from Europe. Only allowed 4 loans aswell so you can't exactly rely on many of them to boost your squad a bit, gonna be tough.

 If you skip first pre-season they're all out of Europe anyway.

Think I'm gonna go for Bala.
Though I'm extremely tempted to go for one of the media favourites...

TNS are so tempting. But they're the only professional club. It's almost cheating.
But then they were tonked 7-0 on aggregate by Dinamo on my save.

Still work to do, and at least the league would be almost a certainty. Could put all the focus into doing well in Europe.

Decisions....

Ante Coric looks a good young player, for anyone who can afford him. Was browsing Dinamo, and all the big clubs are after him.
Would be pretty cheap too, at the beginning of a save.

Worth a look.

This game has a real problem with freak results. Too many times you can lose randomly to a team way down the division and the score is almost always 6 - 2 or 5 - 2. I even had a 9 - 2 once.

I'm tied in 1st place with Chelsea and City after 10 games each having all won 7 of them, drawn three and not lost a single one. Just lost 6 - 2 to 17th place Norwich who've won 1 game out of their ten. It's complete bollocks. It would never happen in real life. It's not a thing.

Restarting even if I have to play other matches again. It's stupid as feck.

I went 17 games without a win in one season. Not a clue how but i was stable the whole time. Dont even know how i managed to be that bad considering i am usually succesful at the game

Think I might jump on this too...we can all compare how horribly we're doing :p

In the space of a few weeks, Spurs, Southampton and Everton all interviewed me for a managerial position with Forest then hastily offering talks with me in order to persuade me to stay. Suffice to say, my transfer and wage budget has increased to £40m and £1.5pa respectively.

Awesome. :D

I've been a bit cheeky and gone TNS. I think they're the only professional club in Wales. But it's a tough enough task getting them to do anything in Europe without having to topple them domestically with a smaller club first. I simmed the first pre season, and by then they'd lost 7-0 on aggregate to Dinamo Zagreb in one of the qualifier rounds.

This is going to be a long, hard save.
No doubt it'll have me pulling my hair out, so I'll probably do a Madrid save on the side, for some instant gratification whenever I need it.

I'd be top of the league if it wasn't for getting beat always by Chelsea, United and City and also surprisingly by Stoke and Newcastle (who find themselves in the CL places).

I will make Champions League places though as United/Arsenal/City/Pool are all relatively shit and are all over the place.

So much West Ham.

Has anyone signed Gabriel Barbosa? I asked the Arsenal board to get him for me and they did for £36m. He arrived in Jan and has scored 12 in 12.

 don't feel so bad. I did the same thing and chose TNS also. Thought it would save a bit of time having a somewhat established team already.

Got matched up with Maribor in the qualifiers. Drew 1-1 away and thought we might be onto something. .. but lost the return leg 2-4 at home. Bit gutted after the good showing in the first leg, but didn't expect to get past that round anyway, so tried to keep things in perspective.

11 games played in the league so far, sitting in 1st, 4 points clear. picked up a couple of free transfers, 19 year Olds, rated 4 stars against my current squad so they slotted in nicely.

Got the board to agree with my philosophy of bringing through youth, so hopefully I can start laying the foundation for our young talent to come through and take the world by storm!

I did my first four league games yesterday. Three wins and a draw.

Managed to get Freddy Eastwood on a free. Got the board to increase my wage bill a bit.
Let a few high earners go, and then basically went through the teams in the league and attempted to sign as many of the impressive 'key players' and 'hot prospects' from their main pages as I could.
Basically, trying to weaken my competition.

I'm quite looking forward to this. All it'll take is one year in Europe. Reputation will increase, as will finances. May take years and years though.

You did well in the Qualifiers. Maribor aren't bad.
I think that's going to be the most frustrating thing. Playing out a long season, and then going out early in Europe. Extremely demoralising.

Definitely the most frustrating aspect is having to wait a whole year to try again in Europe. .. especially when it's almost a foregone conclusion for the first few years that ill likely be out

good idea with the picking up players grin around the league. Had a bit of a look myself, but wanted to keep the squad together for at least the first season but after my next european games (and cash influx from it) ill do some raiding probably.

conversely...I thought about sticking to free transfers and just dumping all my extra money into the facilities when possible.

Just starting next season with Almere, kept a few loans for another year, this time paying their wages, some of the prospects I've been poaching landed, the odd freebie, and one CB I paid 50k for who might eventually be alright.

Had the Super Cup to start with, against Vitesse, went to penos, and oddly, they scored their first, but my keeper saved the next three in a row. Never seen the likes of that before. Closest was Ter Stegen(every shootout was guaranteed to save 2 in 5), before the January updates ruined him.

Zinedine Zidane is the new Huddersfield Town manager.

So nearing the end of my first season with Arsenal, three years in as a manager.

Was neck and neck with Chelsea all season until I had to play them away and lost 3 - 0. Now it's come to the last day and they've got Sunderland at home and all they need to do is win that. If they draw and I win my game away to WBA then I win the league but I highly doubt it.

Elsewhere I got to the League Cup final but lost it to Spurs. I'm also in the FA Cup Final against Championship Aston Villa and the Europa League final against City, so we'll see how it all pans out.

Ugh. Only final I won was against Championship opposition. So frustrating.

Hmmmm, I ended up keeping Agudelo, new contract, couldn't afford better anyway. Happy with that.

Mid August, fecker rocks up unhappy(in Classic ffs) about a "lack of competition for places"(I had 3 other strikers, and was giving a youngster time too).

On t' block. 3.5m, a massive wad of cash for me, in come Guido Vadalá and Frederico Andrada, guess there's a bit of competition for places now. The reason I brought in two, beside the chance to get them, was one of my others was Siebe Schrijvers on loan, and he suffered a multi month injury same week.

Just about to face WBA in the Play off final for a place in the premier league.

I'm actually really nervous even though it's only a game.

I just rage quit, 2 minutes in and my 2 best players are injured, 45 minutes in and my striker gets injured and they score a fluke.

Lost again, kinda glad. Would have felt dirty.

We go again.

The good news is that a player I signed for free last season has just been sold for 10 million pound less than 12 months later.

Thank you Amidu Salifu.

Don't do a Liverpool/Spurs with the money.

Hmm, a player I'm not too fussed about got a bid on deadline day, worth 2.5m, I can get 5.5-6m, but, he has a 50% sell on clause. I got him on a free though, so even half is still all profit....

Not sure.

 I just gave a debut to a striker who I thought was one of my wonderkids. I got so many of them, that I tend to mix up the names and stuff. This guy was absolutely terrible though, with a half-a-star potential, yet he bagged a hattrick against Norwich

I think Fergie died in my game :( He suddenly disappeared from my board as a Director, and some random guy replaced him mid-season...

I'm top of the league with Linfield. Won already 2 cups this season. I'm playing away to second bottom.

It's always some freak score for them and 2 for you. It's happened to me several times, already moaned about it in here. It's a bug and they need to fix it.
