Gaming Football Manager 2015

Won the league with Everton in my 1st season on FM2015, accrued 90 points! Will post some screenshots later on.

Hmm, popped back into my save, taking a few days off from Pokemon. 15 games into my 2nd season, first in the Eredivisie, and I sit in 2nd place, 3 points behind league leading Ajax. Only 3 points ahead of 4th and 5th, though, but if I can stay the course, European football next season.

Also, Juan Agudelo leads the league in goals, with 10.

EDIT: Also of note, I'm an Ajax feeder club, and use their far superior training facilities, I believe they can't actually cancel this deal too.

Hmm, had a cup game against fellow Erediviesie team Willem II that I wasn't fussed about having met competition expectations already. Fired in the B team, hit instant result. My 2nd string fecked 7 past them. Fair play lads.

Right, here's my overview of my Premier League winning season with Everton...

Did woefully in the cups, something which probably helped my league form in the long run. Baines was by far the outstanding player of the season, Lukaku and Barkley were out for lengthy spells (hence Barkley's low appearances). Not got much of a budget for players but will probably bring in Balanta and possibly another striker to go with Lukaku & Ings.

Probably my finest achievement in any fm game to date.

Unfortunately, the club is still broke and has possibly the worst squad in the championship. I don't think I'll be getting promoted again. A lot of players who have been released are no longer even good enough for league football, which is unrealistic as players like Papiss Cisse would be a steal in the championship in real life.

Papiss Cisse's no longer good enough for league football? In 2017?
He'd be like 33 years old.

Oh, Almere is going proper well, bafflingly so. Starting to sit comfortably in 2nd. Missed some golden opportunities to wrest 1st from Ajax, I'm hounding them though, 1 point behind. 17 games unbeaten streak.

January came and went, mostly quietly, sold a few reserves, but I did manage a pair of smashing deals. Amongst my loanees, were Michael Keane, and Lucas Spendlhofer, both ran into their last six months on contract, both join me permanently in the summer on frees. Keane taking a 4k cut in wages to do so, and Spendlhofer asked for 600pw, I'd have paid thousands.

If I get a decent budget in summer, I need to make Vajebah Sakor a permanent deal too. I also have a couple of African potentials coming in the summer(thank feck for not needing work permits), one a natural CM/DC who looks to be decent already, and potential to be amazing, named Mamadou Yoda.

Wish they'd do something with the stadium though, 2800 cap, have 2500 season tickets.....

Ok so I went through the Championship season picking up only a handful of defeats and winning the Championship pretty easily in the end. Since then, I've improved my squad tenfold, getting rid of the shite, adding strength to both my first team and squad, with a strength in depth in every position. However, now I'm in the PL, I'm getting hammered by the big teams, no matter what I do and I don't know why. The squad I have is easily good enough to make Europa League. Chelsea in particular gave me a good hiding.

How many transfers did you make (both in and out)?

Sometimes tinkering too much can have a negative effect. I did a save where I was convinced I hadn't strengthened enough to do well after promotion - we only made two signings and still did well that season.

If you didn't make too many changes, I have no idea.

@Señor I'd drop your wingers back so it's a 4-4-1-1 as AMR/L's don't cover the full backs half as much as MR/L's and if the bigger teams have much better squads chances are they'll be on top for more of the game so you'll need more cover there. What roles do you have your 2 CM's as?

Made quite a few changes and got rid of some of the elder statesmen who were coming to the end of their career. However, most of my new signings have settled in pretty well, bar a striker I bought in whose meant to be as good as Assombolonga but he's just not scoring. I'm playing pretty well, it's just against the bigger teams that my players turn to shit.

Ok, cheers I'll try that. In centre midfield, I've got a ball winning midfielder and an deep lying playmaker.
I always find 4-2-3-1's leaky, but they make up for it in attack.
Yeah, my first game in the Premier League was a 5-3 victory against Villa where Vlaar (twice) and Grealish managed to score. Luckily, we scored 5.

@Señor I'd change your BWM to a CM(D), BWM's get dragged out of position all over the place and especially partnered with an AP you'll be getting split down the middle of more often than not.

I just realised the tactic I've got now have both my centre midfielders as CM(D) and CM(S).

Ah fair enough, yeah I'd just try dropping your wingers back for now then and having your full backs as FB(S) or something if they aren't already.

I've never paid that much attention to the roles.
I didn't know they had this much significance.

FWIW, when I play 4-2-3-1, I like my 2 to be a CM(d) or dropped to the DM slot as an AnchorMan, and a DLP(s), but I specifically pick a defensively strong playmaker, like Yacob.

Anyone recommend a left winger? Just realised my options there are really poor.

Savitskiy, Keita, Sansone, Vitinho, Rotariu, Zivkovic, Sarabia, Sisto. A lot might have moved on by now though so will probably cost a bit more than they would at the start.

Cheers mate. Tallisca any good?

Ajax done the Slippy G!!!!! The title slips half an hour down t' road to Almere.

Difficult decision comes up, Agudelo is mediocre(attribute wise), but he's slotted 27 goals in 28 starts and 4 subs. Clubs are making eyes at him, and he has a 2m buyout clause. Do I let him go, or offer him a new contract, on over 3 times what he's currently at?

This is what I get for winning the league, the warchest to assault the Champions League...

I predict a short challenge. Maybe I get a better class of loan and scrape an Eurpoa spot?

As for the league, rough waters ahead, I doubt I can catch everyone off guard 2 years running(3 including the Jupiler).

EDIT: At least they're expanding the stadium, should have a hair over 5000 seats.... They're also upgrading the Youth funding(recruitment and coaching), I wish they'd throw a few pounds at the facilities too.

Always keep an eye out for who gets transfer listed, not sure what your budget is like, but I managed to get Shaqiri shortly after I got promoted with Forest for relatively cheaply, can't remember how much.

14 games into the championship season, sitting in 7th place with 26 points out of a possible 42. I'm seriously tempted to apply for the Southampton job, as the facilities here are still shite. Our stadium holds 5176 people which we fill weekly.

Just starting my 3rd season with Utrecht in about 2019 I think. Spent the first 2 season with no money and under constant pressure from the board .

But this season is different after 9 games sitting top of the table plus hold a win over Ajax, something I haven't been able to do over the first few seasons.

I have a quality starting 11 but not much depth, mostly promising youth players. So 2 or 3 injuries and I could quickly be facing the sack once again.

Has anyone ever managed to get a Welsh club to achieve European dominance? Or any club from a similarly small league?

I'd imagine that their top division is barely the equivalent of the conference South, in terms of money, interest and exposure.
But building a European force would be extremely fun.

Seems almost impossible though. Would probably take 20 years to get through the Champions League group stages, if you were lucky. Even turning Celtic into the biggest club in Europe would be hard work.

Might be my next save. Just one club, and see what I can achieve.

Rather suprising, asked for a new stadium at Everton as was told we didn't have enough cash for an extension. Been given the go ahead, hopefully it doesn't glitch like in the last version where once the planning was finished nothing happened.

Might give the Welsh league a go actually, what's the lowest playable tier in game?

Just had a look. On Classic, at least, it's just the one league.
I think it'll be a challenge enough though, with just the one league.

Not actually sure how qualification for the Champions League works there. Looks like three clubs start off in the Europa League qualification rounds in 2014.
Maybe they don't even have a Champions League qualification slot - which would be another thing to try to achieve.

The standard is very poor. You can find better players in the Conference South/North.
Would be a fun save. Extremely hard though.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if you eventually started doing well in Europe, and raking the money in.
Obviously you'd become a big name and have a stadium expansion.
Your youth facilities would mean better youth, and you could sell them to other clubs in Wales to increase the overall standard.

But surely there's a limit to how big a club can become, considering the population of Wales.
Hmmm....

I'm fed up of the constant barrage of press interviews. Not everything is a mind game you meaningless fecks.
