Ballbag on SSN saying what all the tweets here have already said and that Ronaldo played a huge role in this deal. He is really interested in our project it seems.

To be fair RC was pretty much the same, but in reverse.

With di Maria?

Loads on here were saying di Maria was one of Madrid's best player last season. He wasn't even inconspicuously brilliant, he was so obviously one of Madrid's most important players last season.

The creativity of Januzaj and di Maria on the wings is mouthwatering, a front five of Januzaj, Rooney, Mata, RvP and AdM is terrifying, the best part is the way they'll be able to interchange and switch during a game to create unpredictability and gives us limitless formation options, as we could comfortably play a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and a 3-5-2. All we need now is two good CMs to supply them and we're laughing!

That's kinda odd. I know he loves United and all, but he really encouraged a player to leave the team he's in, thereby weaken them to strengthen United?

This is happening isn't it.I'm never been happier with a transfer.Fecking love you Ronaldo, absolute legend. All we need now is a decent midfielder.

But Madrid haven't really been weakened. Di Maria played in midfield and they replaced with Kroos. Not a bad replacement, one of the best midfielders playing in his position.

On the Liverpool forum they're saying he will struggle with the physicality of the premier league.

Even if Benatia was in that line up, it is still shit defensively. A world class defender can't help much it the midfield is so open. He aint a miracle worker. You need cover in front of the defense so the back line protected.

As @Balu said, if I'm not mistaken, what's the point of a 3-man defense if you need a holding midfielder though? You must have a Sammer-esque defender in this setup who is capable and willing to step up to midfield in possession. Though Herrera-Di Maria is still very light-weighted, but with the right setup in the back it shouldn't be that much of a problem (and it wouldn't be with Herrera-Vidal's partnership, which was better suited to us, of course :().

I can't think of any defender who is capable of that role today though, Silva, maybe? But we won't get him, of course.

The Chelsea fan has this idea that nobody here rated Di Maria particularly high before he was linked to us. It's a quite ridiculous overstatement, even though some did, and still do, feel that there are other players who should be higher than him on our priority list.

Watching Gillette Soccer Saturday earlier today, opinion by Merson/Le Tissier/Phil Thompson and Charles Nicholas was United won't make the top4 again.

You look at United's potential side though and top players - De Gea/RVP/Rooney/Januzaj/Mata/Di Maria/Herrera/Kagawa that is as good as any elite club in Europe, certainly in the Premier League. We might be average in defense and center midfield, but top players like that can easy put us in the top4, especially with a predator like RVP in your side.

We probably could have but to be honest is it worth the risk for such a world class player, a lot of people earlier in the window banged on about how quickly Madrid bought Rodriguez without a fuss i'm guessing they paid what Monaco asked.

Ye true. I suppose that's the way things are going. I'm happy anyway. :D

Nah he wanted him to stay but after realizing he was leaving he recommended United apparently.

If we get AdM, sign Strootman in January when he's proved his fitness and manage to keep Shaw and Rafael fit and on continuous development, the team really starts to take shape.

Di Maria is going to play Robben role in 3-5-2. There's no other explanation to this.

Rooney in midfield? Mata, RvP, Rooney rotating constantly?

ADM to play the Robben role, Rooney to gradually play the Sneijder role but with with more legs and energy (and the captaincy to keep him happy).

It's happening isn't it? I miss the little fella already. :(

United is on the up with these kind of buys. You'll enjoy watching him tear up other teams for fun. I'm sure he'll make your whole team play better and more direct too.
I like United, so I'm glad he'll probably join you instead of PSG.

Good luck Angel! Thanks for the memories!

High five @Adnan

We were the pioneers standing back to back fighting off the Vidal cronies. We believed and we wanted.

As the Japanese would say: Di Maria GET-TO!
My muppet dream signing was Di Maria and I've been saying that for awhile, just hope nothing goes wrong.

Its not really Di Maria wanted out of Madrid, so Ronaldo has just encouraged him to join us instead of PSG. Good work from Ronnie i say.

Januzaj/Herrera arent top players (yet)

Welcome to the point of my post, it would have to be mata or rooney in a 433, dropping either is unusual for different reasons, unless you put rooney out on wing...

It's a difficult situation alright but I find it hard to see LVG naming Rooney the new captain just to see him dropped from the starting 11. It's going to be impossible to satisfy everyone that's for sure but as long as he finds the best system I don't care who will moan.

Di Maria probably already said he was leaving so in swoops agent Ronaldo to convince him to join his favourite club. What an absolute hero of a man and player.

I refuse to believe this, a world class player joining Manchester United even If we have no Champions League football and according to many "a fading force"

feck em I say. DI MARIA DI MARIA DI MARIA!!:devil::devil:

Would pressing that order button make me the king of muppets?

 That's if anyone can even get near him, surely will be amongst the fastest players in the Prem and easily the best winger by a mile.

This is surely happening.

Finally a signing that really makes a statement. A real world class player.

Shopping at the top of the market.
