Convinced most Utd fans blindly hate Fellaini cause he cost us the title those years back and because Moyes brought him in.

Fellaini would make it at most reasonably big clubs like Arsenal, Juventus, Chelsea, Inter Milan, etc. Can you honestly see the likes of them signing Carrick and Fletcher? No. Fellaini is our best midfielder right now. Herrera is more like a deep lying playmaker type. Fellaini is the Anchor. He covers it all. He can score and run back to defend. Fellaini in 12/13 was better than all our midfielders right now ever were.

There's too much blind hatred in this thread for my liking.

You're either City or Liverpool. Which is it?

You have to be trolling. Unless you actually think Fellaini would get past Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio or Vidal in the center for get anywhere near Arsenal's current midfield with the likes of Ramsey and Wilshere.

As for Chelsea, who's place do you think he's going to take? Fabregas? Matic? Oscar?

Inter maybe but only because they are pretty terrible. He wouldn't play in the center for them though but just behind the striker probably, where he is actually of some use.

Can't help but feel a little sorry for poor old Fellaini. I mean, at Everton, he wasn't the greatest player but he was decent, probably a threat opposition managers had to think about and generally was considered a pretty good player.

Moyes took him to United and all that changed to the point where he has become somewhat of a joke. He will need to work pretty hard to get his career back on track.

Fellaini was already linked with Arsenal. If Carrick moved on, the only clubs that would be in for him would be the likes of Newcastle, West Ham. As for Fletcher, he would only be signed by the likes of Stoke. The fact that people are even suggesting That these two in their current age are better than Fellaini is baffling. That's just blind favouritism at its finest.
Fellaini starts every game for Belgium (ranked TOP 5 in the world) and Carrick can't even get picked for arguably the worst England side ever.... I'll say no more....

Are you high man?

Indeed, because he's blatantly an ABU on a wind-up and has somehow bluffed his way through to full membership.

For his sake I hope so. If he genuinely believes that Fellaini is our best midfielder then he's the worst judge of a player that's ever existed.

I'm still laughing at the thought of Fellaini walking into that Juventus midfield as well. Dropping Pogba or Vidal for afroman? hardly.

According to Di Marzio Napoli are waiting for van Gaal to return to Manchester so he can decide the future of Fellaini.

No need to feel sorry for a average player who earns 150k a week .

Dude, Juventus signed Bendtner. Any negative opinions towards Fellaini joining Juventus are null and void.

As for Arsenal, he would walk into their side and infinitively play more games than Jack Wheelchair. He was at the top of most Arsenal fans wish list after his 12/13 season.

As for people saying he can't play/hasn't played the anchor role at Everton, I'll leave this here...

This "Fellaini is a tree who can only chest and elbow people in the #10" hybrid opinion pisses me off to no end. On top of that, you have people saying "He doesn't suit the style of play we want to play"... How do you know what style of play he wants to play? Mata and Kagawa are fairly similar in their styles. Fellaini is a completely different #10. And a completely different CM to the rest. You need variety in the team.

To be fair, you shouldn't take Jedinak and compare him with Fellaini. This is a player who costs 27.5m, and I doubt many had even heard of the former

But also to be fair, Fellaini is a better player than what he's rated for here. Everyone is given a clean slate under LVG, why not him?

What? They signed Bendtner because at the time they had terrible strikers. They are stacked in midfield. Bendtner was just a bit of a stab in the dark hopeful lone in an area they lacked. I'll ask again: who out of the current Juventus midfielders does Fellaini even get near?

Walk in to their side?! feck me. They have one of the best midfields in the league. Wilshere might be injury prone but he's a bazillion miles ahead of him as a central midfielder. His technique is in a different universe to Fellaini's. Arsenal w
Jack Wilshere hasn't made any progress since he was 17. Paul Scholes said it best. You can make excuses for him all you want but it's a fact.

As for the Juve midfield, I said he might be good in the CAM role there. Besides Vidal and Pogba are heavily speculated to be leaving. I'm not saying they would go for him NOW cause his reputation is ruined thanks to Moyes and the Utd fans constantly banging on about him being shite does him no favors either.

His technique is in a different universe to Fellaini's. Some Arsenal fans wanted him because they had this illusion that Fellaini was a good midfielder based on him scoring goals, not because he's actually good in that role. I remember when he signed plenty of United fans were against it.

What is the point of those statistics? All that's showing me is Crystal Palace's Jedinak is a superior player to Fellaini. If that's your standard then go ahead and keep him. Jedinak's a decent midfielder, Fellaini's a decent player just nowhere near good enough for a club United's size. Seriously if you think him having better pass accuracy than Jedinak is anything to shout about you are deluded as it gets. You realize that they had approximately 5% possession against any decent side? Fellaini is playing in a much, much better team and yet his statistics are worse in numerous areas. He cost nearly 30 million to be a bit worse than a Crystal Palace midfielder. Congratulations. As for aerial duels won, yeah he's tall. He'll win it in the air. Big bloody woop.

Fellaini can do a job and make tackles against crap sides. Put him up against quality like Bayern and you get truly woeful performances.

Judging by the numerous newspaper reports of a couple of days ago, he's already decided.

It would be strange if he actually did decide without even seeing the lad in action. I'm not defending him or anything but LvG has stated numerous times that he wants to assess all the players. Bebe is an exception but surely Fellaini is not in the same category? Perhaps Giggs give an about him to LvG and thats why we're keen to ship him off.

I don't even rate him that highly but he's still a better CM by far than Fellaini when fit. Make excuses? I hate the little rat but I'd have him every day ahead of the walking loobrush. He can actually assist teammates you see.

The CAM role? A club like Juventus would never have Fellaini there. If Vidal and Pogba left they'd never replace them with him, even when he was rated highly at Everton. What a ridiculous stepdown that'd be. They like to keep the ball and play nice buildup Juventus, he'd be anti what they want.

He did so you possibly might be right there. However, I remember a few of the journalists (the more reliable ones when it comes to us) reported during the World Cup a few weeks ago that van Gaal didn't want Felliani. I also doubt that his representatives would be meeting with Napoli if we hadn't told him he could go.

If you combine those things with the stories from the press on Monday and I just think a decision has already been made.

Just had a look through @jason93's post history. It's genuinely flabbergasting. He doesn't appear to be on a wind-up.

Gutted Bebe was sold, Valencia, Nani and Zaha are all better than Januzaj, Fellaini & Cleverley > Carrick & Fletcher...

Hopefully he's a child.

What has Januzaj done at Utd so far to even suggest he's our best winger? Good young prospect but he's not our best winger. Not yet. As for Zaha, I think he's got more potential than him as a winger. Sue me. Just because I don't think Januzaj is the next CR7 doesn't mean I don't like the kid. I do. But at the end of the day, he's a #10 playing on the wing. Zaha is a natural winger.

As for Clev and Marouane being better than Carrick and Fletcher. I still stand by my opinion. We need To move with the times. Fletch and Carrick are past it. We're not gonna become the best team in the world using those 2. Not in 2014. We need Atleast 2 more CMs. Preferably Vidal and Song. That would leave us with midfield options of

Vidal
Herrera
Fellaini
Cleverley
Song
Anderson (?)

That looks good from where I'm standing. Especially when you consider the fact that Cleverley's development hasn't reached it's full potential yet. And Marouane has way more to offer than what we've seen. Carrick and Fletcher? They're not gonna get any better....

Hmm, if you're quoting me here with regard to the bit about style, who do you mean when you mention "how do you know what style of play he wants to play?" Well, firstly, if it's Van Gaal, then I have a pretty good idea having watched every team he's managed since his days at Ajax. If it's Fellaini, I don't really care what style of play he wants to play.

However, who I was talking about when I said "we" was most United fans. Because most United fans, in my opinion, want stylish football. Passing, movement. Not the type of football that I personally feel Fellaini would flourish in. Course, I'm not the manager, so maybe Louis will see something in him to see that he can suit us, in the style that it's blatantly obvious he wants to play.

Differing opinions =/= bad opinions. I'm allowed to like Fellaini, mate.

You are allowed to be a cnut here as well and you are doing a fine job at that.

I don't care what style of play we use as long as we WIN. Attractive football doesn't always win trophies. Look at Arsenal. They play (What I'd call) good football and they went 9 years without winning a trophy.

Fellaini - Vidal - Herrera looks like a good midfield trio me. Much more threatening and star studded than Fletcher - Carrick - Herrera. Can you really see that trio beating the likes of Real Madrid? I feel Fellaini would flourish in the 3 man midfield.

TBF @jason93 is substantially better than @goldenstatesplash. Even though I think a lot of his opinions are really off the mark, he appears to be a well mannered poster and genuinely seems to believe what he's saying. Atleast now he's attempting to give actual footballing stats (again largely misconstrued but A for effort) in favour of his POV. :)

Please tell me this is happening, this would actually be better than signing Vidal!!

What's @goldenstatesplash up to these days? I blocked him what seems like months ago.

Edit: Just noticed he's banned.

Most United supporters support a club that plays attractive, attacking style football. If your stance is that you don't care what style of play we use as long as we win, then I suggest you look to Chelsea!

As for Carrick vs Fellaini. The 12/13 season, Carrick was arguably the best midfielder in the league. Fellaini is not close to that. We'll have to see how Carrick will perform, but obviously he isn't getting any younger. That you say Cleverley is still exciting but Wilshere isn't living up to the hype is contradictory; Wilshere is twice the player, and still isn't living up to the hype. Cleverley is a decent squad player, and better than what he showed last season, but more than that is wishful thinking for the time being.

To be fair, you could argue there's a limit to how unattractive winning football can be.
Football that wins trophies (note plural) surely can't be that horrendous.

I like the way @jason93 decided to compare Fellaini against Jedinak for some insane reason and yet still Fellaini came out worse in the comparison.

He'd still displace one of Pogba or Vidal mind, obviously.... /sarcasm
I wasn't comparing him against Jedinak. I was merely posting that picture to how that Fellaini has played a a CDM for Everton AND done well there.

As for Clev and Marouane being better than Carrick and Fletcher. I still stand by my opinion. We need To move with the times. Fletch and Carrick are past it.
Should we also sell RVP, Rooney, so that Chicharito and Welbeck can play?

Chelsea don't play attractive football in my opinion. But they still win.

I'd take that any day of the week over playing attractive football and losing. It baffles me that some people wouldn't think the same.
