Strippers and whores.....
Can't believe people are believing that we weren't interested in Thiago. Fabregas is our fallback option, by the looks of it. Personally, I'm not that fussed about Fabregas. He'll always be an Arsenal or Barcelona man, he's just hired help if he comes here. I'd rather see players come here that can make a name and a legacy for themselves here. Basically, what most Manchester United signings are supposed to be about.
The interest was all on twatter mate, the club took no action whatsoever by all accounts .... No contact, no bid, no nowt.

Name one thing that confirmed our interest.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus

A bid wasn't required. I know as much as the next man as to what happened, but I think Thiago made demands that we couldn't match. Clauses etc. This isn't how United operate, we're different to most other clubs.

Just copy n' paste one of these at the appropriate time:

Absolutely disgraceful. I always knew we wouldn't get him. Once again, we're the laughing stock of Europe. While all those ambitious clubs did their business early, we were caught napping as usual. A midfield of Carrick, Giggs and Bebé won't cut it against the big boys. feck Moyes and all who sail in him.
Absolutely brilliant. I always knew we'd get him. Once again, we'll be kings of Europe. While all those sugar-daddy clubs wasted their oil money, we caught them on the hop - business as usual next season. A midfield of Carrick, Cesc and Vidal can mix it with the big boys. Thanks, Moyes, and all your merry men.

Let's be realistic. We're hardly the club he wants to be playing for, are we? If he comes then it is only because Barca don't want him and he has therefore failed at his 'dream' club.
And has a lot to prove

I wonder who has leaked that bid?

You've got to wonder if Barca are looking to pay for Neymar and Thiago Silva? The first of my muppet switches has been activated.

The only thing with this transfer is that I genuinely don't like the guy  marvellous player.

Stroot and Garay are not priorities. Cesc apparently is.

I hope it's true because it finally screams logic.

I think it's quite clearly United which leaked the bid.

What can't you believe? That some of us don't buy into the idea of just throwing money at the best players to come here, which is something our supporters have said 'is not the Manchester United way' many times over the years, even criticising other clubs for doing so.

There is a difference now though for some.

Before we had Fergie and no matter who he signed, the general opinion was "Well, it's Fergie. he knows best!" We trusted him because he was right 99 times out of a 100.

Moyes is new and for a lot of people here, unproven and no one knows whats going to happen so they want a big proven signing to ease their worries.

Most Utd fans said the same about about RvP before he was linked to us. Things change :)

Nev smash!!
Yeah it's worked out pretty well :)

I reckon Sanchez would of been a hit here though. We love old fashioned wing play and Sanchez fits us more than he does Barca.

I'm very happy with our transfer activity over the past few years. However our record in signing these types of players - i.e. Fabregas is dismal for whatever reason. So therefore I wouldn't be surprised if Barca come out and say he isn't for sale, move on United because we don't seem to have much strategy with these high profile foreign signings. Continually repeating that we signed so and so last year or the year before is irrelevant as I am not referring to these players.
We just signed one of these types of players last season. They don't come much bigger than Van Persie. It's not irrelevant at all. We clearly aren't dismal in the transfer market as you have suggested.

And how would Thiago be any different? He left Barca because he couldn't make it there, to a midfield that already contains Mueller, Kroos, Gotze, Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez. He's of the same ilk as Fabregas in that respect.

Was Berbatov a "Manchester United man"? Is Rooney? Was Rio? Don't think so.

I always liked Van Persie actually, and he always seemed like a classy guy and very respectful. Fabregas on the other hand always seemed like a bit of a cnut and has a punchable face, but he is so good that all that will be forgotten in a second if he came:lol:

If today Rio isn't a Manchester United man, I don't know who is!
