Like Donkey Kong.

But not good Donkey Kong, like Country, 64 or even original Donkey Kong... more along the lines of Diddy Kong finishing in last place on Mario Kart Rainbow Road.
Going to cum....

does anyone think we will really sign him?

I doubt it. The price is too low first off and we never really do business like this. He will play more next season he is too good for Barca to let go.

Burned just yesterday and back playing with fire, so soon my fellow muppets?

The only thing stopping me getting giddy is that the public nature of this rumour doesn't feel very Manchester United, and I can't see Barça losing Cesc And Thiago in one summer, both grown in the La Masia petri dishes.

I have no doubt that we're very interested in Fabregas, I'd imagine most clubs are if they think they can get him.
He'd be the ideal signing for us. Not quite as exciting and flair-like as Thiago, but far more proven to our club and needs.
Moyes has no doubt had him at the top of our list ever since he was appointed the new manager.

I just can't see it happening at all. Although it's very rare you see clubs bidding for a player, without knowing whether or not the player is interested, which gives credence to the story.

Seriously mate, are you depressed or something? I've never known anyone as negative as you. Are you like Charlie Brown, waking around with a permanent storm cloud over your head?
Alright Nev

Depressed no....repressed yes. And I'm not negative, I'm just a big bloody realist.

Now sod off back to your muppetry you huge fiend.

Probably the most sure-fire instant success as a partner to Carrick in world football today. If he came, there's no way he wouldn't slot straight in and be a huge hit here. He's tailor made for one of those two central spots in a Premier League midfield.

My favourite part about this story is how quickly it popped up after we missed out on Thiago. Thanks be to Jesus we don't have a few days in the muppet wilderness.

Play a 4-1-4-1 like Bayern is likely to play, why not? If Rooney leaves as a result of this then hopefully we keep Nani and Valencia gets back to form and have both on the wings. This could well be brilliant. The article on the other page that says he's a long time admirer of United gives me the slightest bit of hope as well. Still don't think it will happen though, unless Barca have a replacement lined up, or they need the funds to bring in Thiago Silva.

Take nothing away from Thiago, but Fabregas has proven he can be a top player in the Premier. Plus if, (and it's a big if) we land him, it will go along in getting me out of the depression I have been in ever since Moyes became United's manager.

maybe that speculation about Moyes being worried about Thiago fitting into the PL was actually true, it sort of makes sense now that this Fabregas stuff has come to the fore, seeing as it's pretty obvious he'd fit back into the PL.

Worrying about Thiago fitting into the Premier League is sort of like worrying that your new Lamborghini doesn't quite fit the colours on the walls of your garage.

Yeah, the fact that we've opened with £25m suggests this could take a while. It's the right way to do things considering we're a club who do not have unlimited funds but sometimes you do have to envy the Bayern approach of "how much is the buyout? meh, whatever, just take it and gimme him".
It's a bit different when the clause is at €18m and above €50m or even more as in Fabregas' case.

Didn't Moyes suggest that he was hoping to wrap up a deal by Monday? Well it looks like he wants to impress the fans, if he signs Fabregas then this positive will outweigh all the other negatives in that positive/negative shit thread.

No I think those comments were made up.

If we can come up with the right offer (I think we're still 10 million away from that) that makes Barcelona actually want to sell, then I think this is doable. If they accept our bid, I'm sure Fabregas won't want to stay at a place that would cash in on him for the right fee. Top clubs typically don't sell key players solely for profit.

To add more fuel to the fire, Valbuena has been talking about Barcelona being interested in him in the last week.

Thiago not getting games because of Fabregas. Barca reluctantly let Thiagogogogogo.
I can't see them then letting Fabregas go, especially with the quality midfielder market as empty as we well know.

Non-starter for my money.

Why not just play Fabregas as a centre mid like he was at Arsenal? He should be playing a lot deeper than Kagawa IMO.

Just play a normal 4-2-3-1 with Fabregas replacing Clev and we'll be laughing

Darren Dein, RVP's agent, also represents Fabregas...

Oh shit. Thought this was utter bollocks, 'self controlled' myself out of the Caf for four hours, and I come back to find that we're taking it seriously now. My 'fantasy formation' urges are going to get the better of me soon.

And the fact that if Fabregas moves, it'll most likely be his final big transfer until the club doesn't want him anymore. No way Barcelona will get him back a third time and he won't go to Real if he intends to move back to Barcelona after retiring.

We had people claiming that United did not get Thiago because they were not "ballsy" enough. Are we now to criticize them for having a go, even though it will probably fail?
For all we know it's not the only shot at a top midfielder that they are trying now.
I wasn't having a go at our audacity, if anything its a promising indication.

I'm just skeptical that Barca would even entertain the idea of selling Fabregas after bitterly losing Thiago.
