They're reeling out the screenshots now. Either this is imminent, they're winding up the beginning of a long painful marketing scheme, or they realised everyone was getting pissed off with no information.

The European-based online retailer Zavvi.com has posted what appears to be a release date for Grand Theft Auto 5. When questioned, the retailer confirmed that the release date of November 23, 2012 was provided to them by their supplier.

"I can confirm that this is the release date forwarded by our supplier," said a spokesperson for Zavvi to Eurogamer PT. "If the release date changes, our website will be updated immediately."

Although the release date of Grand Theft Auto 5 has yet to be formally announced, game analysts like Michael Pachter have expressed their belief that the game may well be released this year.

Furthermore, previously revealed resumes of staff at Rockstar Games working on the game gave good indication that the game would be out around October. Given the nature of game development, there's a good chance that their internal release date of October have slipped by a month.

The game's release in November doesn't seem too far fetched given the company's recent ramping up of their marketing machine, which began with the release of three screenshots yesterday. Rockstar says that they plan to release more screenshots later this week.

There's a good chance that we'll hear a formal release date statement from Rockstar Games fairly soon.
So sooner than expected huh ?

In the first image it looks like it's coming out of the guy aiming at the chopper, then in the later one it's coming out of the cop's gun.
No LEvo, look at the shoulder in the first image. There's a gap. It's out of the chopper both times.

Am I thinking that last screenshot will play something like...

You have to lower the back of the truck, get in the car, reverse off the truck and drive off?

Still doesn't change the fact that in the 2nd picture of it, the laser is coming out of the cop's gun.

Yeah it's obviously gonna be coming out of a gun. Might just be in the helicopter all the time though, as a way of knowing they're lining one up. Then again you'd think they'd let you use one to please those weirdos that want gun customisation.

I'll have to kill the copper now and find out if you can take his gun, I'll get a little shortlist of things to do set up.

Judging from the graphics and attention to detail I really doubt they'll fit it all on one disc...not for the 360 at least anyway.

They've always struggled with disc size haven't they? That's a good point but you can't have half a map then have to swap discs. I can see a few big installs.

Probably be similar to the GT5 thing where by you installed a good chunk of data to the HDD to help with the running speeds and such.

It looks like a beautiful game but more than graphics I hope it'll be fun.I didn't really appreciate GTA IV despite some really funny characters (Little Jacob,Brucie).I preferred the DLC with Gay Tony and the bikers.
I hope GTA V will be closer to SA in terms of fun

Also they would never split the map into discs, most likely the missions (i.e cut scenes and stuff) would be split.

I love this series. Can't wait to play V. I hope they add more San Andreas like twists to the game.

There's no chance the graphics will be as jaw dropping as those screenshots... well not on current generation consoles.

Those screenshots are usually much better looking than the game because they tend to be taken from cut-scenes and such or simply worked on with a graphic software. It won't look as good but if they improve from GTA4 graphics which were already excellent, it'll be a great looking game.

Yea, those pictures are incredible but there's no way it'll look quite that stunning in play on a console.

Uncharted didn't have a huge open world to be fair. It'd be much tougher to achieve that sort of graphics in an open-world game.

Why LA though? Take it somewhere else. Someone mentioned Hong Kong, that would be a brilliant alternative

I started to play GTA IV over the past week. Wanted to wait until all the hype calmed down and it was released on the PC. Obviously I'm abundantly aware it's outdated but I'm really enjoying it.

I was hoping they would have done London. I know they did it years back via the look down version, but there's plenty of gang related content, football hooliganism and the general under world to justify London as a GTA city.

My only concern is that U.S companies tend to do a wank job of accurately representing the British and Irish

Desktops are relatively cheap nowadays if you build them yourself anyway.

I have a job interview on Friday. If I'm successful I'm going to start putting the wheels in motion to build a desktop (or buy one if I either don't trust myself putting it together or can't find anybody to help me). Want a quality graphics card and a quality sound card.

Yeah I think something most fans want is an international feel to it. Enough with America already. London would be great.

My dream scenario would be the ability to travel to different countries.

I'll do a good job of recreating GTA in Britain/Ireland if Kinky bumps this thread again.
