Ibra's a striker who likes to drop off and orchestrate the play, providing he's got runners in behind. Van Gaal likes his strikers to occupy the centre backs and make runs in behind, which is why it would make no sense at all to buy Zlatan.

Honestly, he'd be perfect here... Up front or at the 10 position, with Rooney at the other, they could get the best of each other, with Memphis on the left, and Pedro/Mata on the right. Would be quite good. Right now, as it stands, we're lacking a really good #10 I think, or at least those who are at their best or very good there, are also our best players/only options for other positions. Mata, Rooney and even memphis are more or less are only options for the right wing, left wing and striker positions, or best options. Otherwise, squad player quality comes in or just random youngsters.

He's a wonderful man, no doubt. Definitely think if he was on the move and Ferguson was still the manager, he'd be here already. Fergie always liked a punt on a player he admired, whatever the age. Larsson, Sheringham, Owen, he wanted to buy Di Canio in 2002. He tried to buy Shearer when Bobby Robson was manager. Zlatan would have been a vintage Fergie signing.

He makes perfect sense for us right now. We're in need of a top class striker to provide competition to Rooney, and since there aren't really any top strikers available on the market, this makes a lot of sense. He's not young and only has a year left on his contract, but at the same time, he's more than good enough to provide at least one quality season. The only real issue is LVG.
They can work together, but they will argue every day.
Edit: The problem is that they both think they know better.

Of all the potentially available strikers out there, at the moment he would fit the bill for a season. Can't see it happening though.

I wouldn't be against having him here, in fact I would be really happy. We need a striker and he is a very good one. It would be ideal in the that it would be a short term fix whilst we look to bring in the next long term replacement for Rooney. We have a decent defence and a superb midfield, bring Zlatan and Pedro in and we can challenge on all fronts.
Him and Pedro and we'll be very strong. I think he could be good for a few more years because he looks after himself and he's a very athletic player.
