Zlatan Ibrahimovic

He just reacted to it. Got a toe on it and it went in, a tap in basically which for Ibrahimovic is a bloody good goal since he never scores them!

still, top class assist for Messi, the quickness of his control and the control on the cross was top class. He made it easy for Messi to head it.

Zlatan's goal against Getafe was a bit shit really, takes a lucky deflection to get to him, he doesn't even make proper contact with it and if that keeper was Foster, he'd have been criticised on here for not saving such a shit attempt on goal.

That's the kind of goals Zlatan needs to score, poaches. He's been "accused" of being a scorer of only beautiful goals.

It was still a soft shot that the keeper should have stopped every time and a decent keeper would have done. Like I said had Foster let that in, he'd have been murdered on the cafe, piss poor defending + lucky deflection + shit shot = shit goal. A top class assist by taking a deflection? Yeah top class it was.

i was talking about Ibrahimovic when he crossed the ball for Messi to head it in as being top class.

Good reaction from Zlatan, the deflection and the fact he had no right to even get a touch on it threw the keeper off. The ball wormed from barely 5/6 yards out into the opposite corner. Keeper had no chance, saying that Zlatan knew nothing about it but you have to put it down to good instincts in the penalty area.

He's a tall player I'd expect him to get his foot to it, it wasn't flying past him now was it? The pace had slowed down thanks to the deflection. No way did he mean to place that, he just stuck his foot out. On another day it could have easily missed or saved (should) by the keeper.

It was a shit goal due to a combination of things, don't try to spin it.

are you upset i said Ronaldos goal wasn't very good?

How about i do what everyone did with Ronaldos with Zlatans just to cheer you up.

Zlatan showed brilliant awareness and reactions to score that goal. His positioning was impecable but the deflection made it difficult, somehow he managed to adjust his body and at full stretch direct the ball away from the keeper and into the corner from a difficult angle. Brilliant goal  :D

I think he meant to change the direction of the ball towards the goal but not necessarily that precisely.Amazing the bitterness show some regarding the likes of Zlatan,Ronaldo,Messi.

Bitterness or bias for or against.

I said Ronaldos was a good finish but the keeper was poor... i'm clearly the worst

You must have said the same thing after almost every goal Solskjaer scored for us. He was the master at putting them through the keeper's legs.

:lol:No, I was just demonstrating the stupidity of your posts about Ronaldo's goal by being overly harsh about Zlatan's. Both those goals are on par for quality but surprise surprise you criticised Ronaldo's and tried to say Zlatan placed his shot:wenger: I thought I'd do the same and even mention the Foster line;):p

difference being my last post was clearly a piss take. The actual ones where i spoke about the goal were as follows

"Good reaction from Zlatan, the deflection and the fact he had no right to even get a touch on it threw the keeper off. The ball wormed from barely 5/6 yards out into the opposite corner. Keeper had no chance, saying that Zlatan knew nothing about it but you have to put it down to good instincts in the penalty area."

and this

"He just reacted to it. Got a toe on it and it went in, a tap in basically which for Ibrahimovic is a bloody good goal since he never scores them! "

which i think anyone would admit are pretty fair assessments of the goal. No bias at all, just basically saying it the way i seen it. THe exact same as i did for Ronaldo, he was clean through on goal, by a mile and scored. There was nothing brilliant about it. He finished a chance, if he didnt finish it can you imagine the stick he would be getting. And no i dont mean from me i mean his actual fans, the madridistas.

You probably didn't watch the game yesterday then, imo. he was Barca's most dangerous player.

He wasnt great and he wasnt shit. His movement is actually excellent but his team mates arent used to it yet. Plus they dont give him the ball when he drops deep. He almost set up Messi with an audacious back-heel. He's feeling his way into this side.

INter are a much improved outfit too and both sides have only played 2 league games so the game really was never going to live up to the hype. I was surprised with how defensive Inter were, both teams will learn things from the game.

Missed Barcelona's second best chance and could have done better with one or two of the times he was played through on the shoulder of the last defender. He was a threat but ultimately wasteful with the oppertunities he had to break the deadlock.

Still, 0 goals scored are 0 goals scored.

You should all get off his back, what did Eto'o do that was so much better? He was on home turf with the crowd behind and yet didn't manage a shot on target, let alone a shot at all for that matter.

Well he is criticised for her performance in a game against Inter Milan. People are obviously going to compare him and Eto'o considering they were part of the same transfer deal. Where as on the one hand Zlatan is an easy target if he does not perform well. Eto'o however can perform worse and not get any harsh words from posters on here.

An awful lot of bias and double standards.

Ibrahimovich did alright last night, his movement stretched Inter a bit and he managed to fashion himself a few half chances, the only negative you could attribute to him was he spurned a great chance that fell to him quickly into the game. Messi and Henry both had bad games by their standards but it they've also had tough weeks of international games prior to this. Inter were disappointing again in Europe in my opinion, now they lack Zlaten as well and they look quite ordinary. Milito and Eto'o isn't a good enough partnership to win the champions league and their team is still to slow going forward, they just lack any pace. A lot of the game last night showed why a lot of their players couldn't get big moves to sides in Spain or England.

Barca have been quite boring so far this season, Pique has probably been their best player and Keita started all of their games in a box-to-boxish role. They look a lot more resilant than in previous seasons and they're better in the air (in both penalty boxes) but they're famous one touch passing and interplay aren't there. Henry is looking past his usefulness at the top level at the moment although he might just be starting slowly. He's frustating to watch atm as he just doesn't ever manage to get behind a defender. I think it's fair to say that what Guardiola is trying isn't working that well, Barca need to start raising the tempo more and going after opposition.

They miss Iniesta, came on for a bit yesterday.

What they missed was a bit of directness. Someone to stop their 45x 5 yard passing movements and just smack the ball into the top corner and get them the points. Something a more direct player like Eto'o has been known to do.

Or Henry? Maybe there wasn't enough space for that. Henry and Messi will probably tell you that.

In fact Inter set out like Chelsea did and correct me if I'm wrong but Eto'o didn't do much against Chelsea.

What impact did he make on the game again? Barca's attack was nullified by Inter, he didn't look that much of a threat. Like I said he'll bottle it again in Europe.
If you are calling his performance last night bottling it, then by that logic E 'too proved he is shit without his barca mates, going by the way he played for Inter last night.

He did nothing vs Chelsea and I doubt he would have done much better than Ibrahimovic last night. In fact Barça lacked the ability to deliver a final ball to our penalty area, also 'cause our defense (the only department that really worked last night) was excellent in closing all spaces and I don't even recall how many passes Samuel and Lucio intercepted or cleared away. That's why I think whatever player in place of Ibrahimovic would have had a hard time in scoring.

About Eto'o (and Milito) they both performed poorly 'cause as last season in European games, our midfield didn't provide them playable balls and the few times they were set up they weren't brilliant. Poor game by both overall but when playing at their standards they're both two extraordinary strikers who complement each other 'cause they have different assets.

I reckon last night's game doesn't say much about the two teams. Everybody knows how good Barcelona are and what brand of football they play but they have a new player upfront who still has to settle down into a completely different team from his previous one, whereas at Inter there's still work in progress. This year's goal is to change our playing style, there's no more Ibra to take us out of troubles and to be overreliant on and the games we've played so far showed we're on the right path, especially the unlucky one vs Lazio and the fantastic win in the derby. Yesterday Josè probably didn't want to lose this game and all he wanted was getting a draw, that's why he chose very defensive tactics.

Agreed.

TBF Milito was more of a threat than Et'oo all night.
