Ibra will be everything Berbatov was supposed to be.

Everyone expected the Bulgarian to stroll in to Old Trafford and live up to the stage, but he just crumbled under the pressure.

He's coming imo and it's a great move from the club. He'll add goals, experience and character to the team and who better to inspire our young attackers.

Probably Zlatan could teach Memphis a thing or two about power freekicks. It is all rumour but getting all giddy inside. Zlatan! Why? Because they are not many so called world class strikers available, especially on a free transfer. Plus he would offer that physicality upfront even if he is not the bravest (with his head).

Not convinced he's the answer, but the options out there are that great. Just think he'd slow attacks down too much, and will ultimately score less than people seem to expect.

That said, he's of the age where he could help bring the younger ones along, and also help off he field.

As I've said, I'm also keen on signing a Galactico as I believe only when we replace Rooney off the pitch will we consider doing it on the pitch too.

I reckon (based on absolutely nothing) that him and Rooney will hate each other.
I could actually see Rooney benefiting a lot as not only would it allow him to move into midfield whilst all the scrutiny was on Zlatan to see if he was past it at the start of the season but it would possibly also free him up from having so much critisism because of his mega wages as I imagine Zlatan's wages would be even higher.
Either way I imagine one or both of them will be in China before 2018

Me too.

Zlatan won't hold back when Rooney is failing with simple passes.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, great players have high standards. If fellow players aren't meeting them standards then they should be told.

Wherever he goes, hopefully it's just not to some Qatari or Chinese team that will pay him tons to never be seen again

Would love to see him in the PL

in fairness Berbatov did stroll into OT. He then proceeded to stroll around the pitch

Harsh, he won the golden boot and the league in 2011 - hardly crumbled under the pressure that season.
In fairness Berba did nothing in the 2nd half of that season, but props to him for adding to the goals when Rooney was complete shit for half the season. Loved those 5 goals v Blackburn

I would absolutely love to see him playing for Utd. Give him a 2 year deal and the number 7 shirt.

Same. Heck, I wouldn't even hesitate with giving him that # 10 shirt! Just think how much players like Martial and Rashford could learn from him, and by the time he's left they've most likely developed even further! I think the chance of getting him is much bigger with Mourinho as a manager then with LvG tbh.

I think Memphis could do with being taken down a peg or two. Give him number 46.

So do I, but the 7 should hopefully be for a new winger  and Rooney needs shooting

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. What if he's the same? Plus, I don't think what you said about Berbatov was entirely fair.

Don't need him. Martial, Rashford are both quite good and will develop more without Zlatan coming in and hogging the chances.

According to some reports MUFC is OK to pay €20m per year

...Or both would benefit from playing alongside arguably one of the best players in the world.

I got excited when we signed Falcao.

Signing Ibra would be a totally different level of excitement. The man's mentality is at another level. PL defenders won't stand a chance.

Tbf, after delivering a hattrick against B'ham and orchestrating our comeback against Blackpool he was only involved in 16 of our 26 matches after that (coming on as a sub in 8 of them, meaning he only started 8 matches post Blackpool).

I'm fully expecting an announcement this week.
Would be a huge risk on his part to go to the Euros with no contract signed and risk an injury - after all people are talking about £500k a week for 2 years (probably £30,000,000) after tax.

His hat-trick against Liverpool alone was worth the £30m!

Yup. Falcao was a big name too, but we took a risk with him cause of that serious injury he had and we all saw how that went. But Zlatan is on a completely 'nother level, both physically and mentally. The man is extremely self-confident, and would make our attack much stronger, and show a physical presence like no other has done here before, besides Cantona probably. The things he can do with a ball is just amazing, things Messi and Ronaldo would never dream of doing, and he's been nothing but brilliant during his time in PSG. He clearly was too good for Ligue 1 and it's a shame that we couldn't get him earlier really.

As he has said himself - there is only one league trophy left. He wants it badly and he will bring a winning mentality back to OT.

People seem to rate him extremely high. Let's see how good he will be in the PL - cant really compare to France

I dont think that's a fair assessment of Barbatov's time here at all. I dont think pressure was anything to do with it, he delivered when called on.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. What if he's the same? Plus, I don't think what you said about Berbatov was entirely fair.

"In my first year I was disappointed in myself. I need to say that," Berbatov said in an interview with the Sun. "It was a big pressure for me and maybe I failed myself. I think I wanted to prove myself to these supporters.

"You must remember, they are used to Best, Charlton, Cantona. I am just Dimitar. I got a number of assists, but I must score more goals.

"I don't know what I am doing wrong sometimes. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's me ... who knows? At nights I have stayed awake thinking: 'You could have done this instead.' My nerves were too much and that is my responsibility."

10 goals in 40 ECL knockout games. Does that not leave you with just a little bit of doubt when declaring PL defenders won't have a chance.

Champions League knock out sides are much better than the general Premier League sides.

It's completely different trying to score against the likes of Juve, Atletico, Barca, Bayern etc, than trying to score against Swansea, Sunderland, Bournemouth ffs.
