So sky are certain we are getting him but still had to ask the question - sky sources are bs. Like with the whole Bailly thing- other places leak it then sky claim 'sources' . Why do people still see them as credible?

Dunno mate. There will be a young player who fits the bill somewhere though.

Well we have 2 of our own who are young and just need a bit more time, unless you were meaning strikers in their early to mid 20's like Lukaku and Lacazette?

Are we certain he's coming here?

Regarding Rashford, we have what, a maximum of 60ish games this coming season. Ibra (IF he comes) will feature in about 80% of that, 45-48 games. This will leave Rashford about 12-15 games to start AS A STRIKER and plenty to come on as a sub; say about another 10 more. We'd most likely see him start on occasion on the right as well, say about 5 games. 30 appearances in total for an 18 year old striker at Manchester United; I think that's good enough.

Last season was an anomaly, we didn't have anyone to start up front and going into a new season without a competition is bonkers. Getting Ibra is perfect, maximum 2 seasons and we will have Rashford who'd have racked up close to 100 appearances for the club by then to stake his claim to be our first choice forward.

Win-win scenario for me. Don't think Ibrahimovic will have any trouble settling in to the pace of the EPL either and in any case, that's a risk we take with any new signing for the striker position. I don't see anyone worth pursuing in the league except for Kane.

Since they have to be PL proven (as there is no football played outside England unless Stoke buy an average player from abroad that you happen to know, in which case he's world class) and very expensive (price being the only true measure of quality) then I'm not sure there are too many options. We aren't getting Kane and players like Arnautovic, Wickham and Enner Valencia aren't all that IMO. Maybe Lukaku but he'd cost a bomb and would stand in the way of Rashford's development much more than a stop gap signing like Zlatan.

I'd love Lukaku personally.

I'm sure there's some players either abroad or at home who will be the next big thing. Hell there will be a player like Vardy who could arrive here and shine for a few years.

Ibra though? By the time he's adjusted to the league (do you not think players need time to adjust to new leagues) it'll be time to go again.

Do you really prefer Vardy ahead of Zlatan? That is mental.

Who is a better player?

Zlatan

Who would be better to sign next year?

Vardy.
Ffs there's even a limit where one would finally stop sprouting delusional bollocks, yet there's no stopping you. Seriously you should consider signing on a United forum equivalent of Rawk.

Twigginater shows that he don't care about the kids coming through lol. Most people that want Zlatan are thinking about the United lads. It's kinda funny you moan about Jose but he's taking them into consideration, you ain't :)

You're right mate, imagine saying that the top scorer who broke a premier league record for scoring in consecutive games and propelled his team to the league might be a good signing.

Vardy is not very young either and relies heavily on pace while Zlatan is reliant on class and technique, won't be surprised if they decline at similar time (by any stretch of imagination Zlatan has not even started declining yet, he's had his best season yet). The gulf in quality between them is absolutely huge too.

It troubles me greatly that I shared some of your views on van Gaal. It's like reading an article you agree with and finding out Katie Hopkins wrote it.

Jesus why are you guys giving in this this fecking wummery again, another thread fecked up.

Completely agree. It's so obvious that he's wumming just for the sake of it, there's no point trying to argue with someone like that.

Vardy is not going to reach the heights of last season again - I promise you that. And that's not even going into how signing Vardy would hold back Rashford.

Who is the worst poster in the Caf?

Twigginater.

Who is the worst poster in the internet?

PS: offend the poster, not the post. New Caf rules.

I'd honestly take Ibra over Vardy for entertainment purposes alone, regardless of how many goals either ends up scoring. I have faith that there will be enough talent in the team to get goals from many sources so Ibra would just be icing on the cake for me. Vardy might be a good signing alright but it's fecking boring.

I bet this big 'bomb' announcement is him launching a new pair of socks

That was in poor taste that. What with the OT bomb scare and him saying bomb. Play nice Zlatan.

I hadn't seen Ibrahimovic play much and I always thought he was someone like Balotelli, capable of some great moments and some real entertainment but the attitude means he will never be a complete player like Messi, Muller, Rooney (in his prime and in terms of passing, vision and overall play) etc but all that was born out of ignorance.

Then I actually saw him play in the friendly against us last year and I was amazed. He was not just some target man. He dropped deep (as far as defensive mid at times) and distributed the ball. His overall passing was quite good and his link up play was great as well and it reflected in the tap in goal he scored. He stood out in a team filled with stars and flair. Yes, it was only a friendly but I have grown to admire him more ever since that match. I, for one, will be really hyped IF he signs for United.

PSG fans as a whole love him and most wanted him to extend at the end of the season.

The overall vibe is positive although some of the fans wanted him gone at some points. There's still the lingering feeling that he's not the one to carry you far in Champions League.

All the focus on PSG forums is on getting Blanc out ASAP. Zlatan isn't our preoccupation anymore.

Good insight, thanks.

I loved him at Inter Milan, rated him as one of the best in the world since then.

Two of my favourite goals from his Inter and Juve days.

Sums him up for me, utter class. doesn't depend on speed, just raw technique.

He's learnt what his strong suits are 30> and he's become a better player because of it.

Me! The whole "big bomb" thing has me thinking he has other plans.

He's a certified troll to the media. His announcement is likely to be the clothing line, but I'm quite sure we have him signed regardless. There is too much cover on it by various journalists to be anything else.
