Zlatan says his next club is fantastic.

Bollocks. He is going to Leicester.

@The United

Based on the statements of his former team-mates & coaches.
Like how he told a young player to tell his mom that he trained with him? He had to train with young squad due to some discipline action?

Like how he worked out so well with the best manager of the world in barcelona full with super stars and young players etc?

Idk, I haven't seen or read enough of him. Surely if he has that in him, we would be hear more about it before rather than now since he has been in so many clubs and old enough?

Quite brilliant pr trick this if it is for his new sports wear brand.

Why do people assume that he will have Cantona esque influence?! Based on what? Because he can act like a cnut sometimes in media? Have you heard about that kind of influence of his happen in any of his oh so many clubs before? he is 35 ffs. What is his history and reputation? None of them actually says anything about any kind of influence over young players let alone Cantona's kind of influence.

It is freaking odd to me that people seem to pull that thing out of their ass as soon as they think he is going to sign for us. It is like justifying their inner muppet singing with that shit because they know the guy is coming to the end with his career. So gotta make some shit up.

Speaking all of it, it would be fantastic IF he has that influence at our club. Well if he signs for us, of course.

Agree, off the pitch he doesn't seem to be anything like Cantona.

Cantona was actually down to earth, not really one for individual awards, a pretty humble bloke.

@The United @Dobbs

Ok. Each player is different but both are charismatic. Zlatan has a winning mentality.

We will all be robots by 2036 lol. Zlatan will run on batteries

In 2036, Asian footballers will exert downward pressure on wages. The Ballon D'or will earn $100,000 per year LOL

A player at united having a winning mentality would be a must.

Nothing unique about it for me to write home.

That is a massive salary for a 35 year old. Still, it's only a one-year deal and if he can bag 12-15 in the league, another 5 in the EL and a few more in the FA Cup/Carling Cup, it'll be worth it for a one-year rental.
He was involved in 67 goals in 51 matches for PSG last season and is one of the most marketable players in the world. What kind of salary were you expecting him to take?

50 goals in 52 games club and country. Even if we get half. Even if he does not dominate the top sides. He should get us them soft points we have coughed up way too easy against the so called smaller clubs, since SAF retired. It will be better than the last few years. He is cocky brash and his character and confidence is infectious and unassailable. Something severly lacking at United... now pull that out of your ass.

IBRA TO ANNOUNCE ON TUESDAY?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to announce where he will play his football next season on Tuesday.

Sky sources understand the Sweden striker will join Manchester United on a one-year contract.

And speaking to Swedish TV after Sweden’s 3-0 victory over Wales on Sunday, Ibrahimovic said: “There will be a big announcement on June 7. It will be this summer’s big bomb.”

Watch this space.

Everyone's taking him coming to us as a given now, it would hardly be this summer's big bomb...

Maybe he really will go to Leicester. He's probably crazy and arrogant enough to do it.

So now you pull more things out of your ass then?

Like you know for sure he will do that in new league and club while pointing the league stats out. Ronaldo might score 80 goals there. Just saying. Also, we need hardworking and talented players who will do what the manger wants. Cockyness is not something we need more or lack of. We are united for feck sake.

And, next season should be better than the last 3 mainly because we have a better manager now. It should be a given.

You are free to think he is a trivial player.
Oh I don't think he is.

I just find it funny people making shit up about a player coming to an end with his career hoping that he will save us while playing for us FOR A YEAR. I mean we surely are not that desperate yet, are we?

It's Ligue 1, which diminshes the value of his stats quite a bit.

His marketability is still decent, probably in the top 15 in the world, but I'm not sure it justifies this type of salary. As I said though, since it's just one year, it doesn't matter. If this was a four or five year deal, I'd call us nuts.

My recommendations in like who we should sign in their mid 30s instead of Zlatan?!

Be specific.

Do you think United should recruit some players this summer?

If the answer is Yes, which players?

I couldn't have put it better myself. This is what usually happens; fans are desperate, look forward to changes, new faces etc ... and then try to convince themselves that this is different from previous failures and will be an unquestionable success. Same story with Mourinho really when people changed their tune after the depressing couple of years and started pretending he ticks every box for us.

Having said that, I actually am a huge fan of Zlatan. I just always found him a great player but that doesn't mean I think he would be the correct signing for us so I am kind of on the fence with this one. I hope he goes on and prove me wrong if he ends up here of course.

I think you need to realise what year it is. The likes of Depay are on £100k and have done jack shit compared to Ibrahimovic

I'm actually starting to believe the announcement is delayed solely because Zlatan is reading RedCafe and wants to have the longest transfer thread on here.

I can't believe we're going to sign someone who's going to turn 50

Of course we should. We need to reinforce our front line badly for sure. I am not against signing Zlatan. But, I am more interested in what other forwards we are looking at since we need to fix our right side problem. I would look at the likes of Griezmann myself for long term fixes across the front line at least.

What do we do with Rooney? Would Depay become good? If he does, Martial can play up front. Martial would not give a dam about anyone's influence. He is good enough.

There are a lot of factors that I don't know yet since I am not jose or close to him to know about how he wants us to play. But, everyone knows that Zlatan signing would not be long term fix which we should be looking at.

So pardon me for not getting to much excited about it.

If it's that easy to score in this mickey mouse league then why did no one else get close to him?

Its like Zlatan said, age is just a number. Do you think he will let it stop him, no. Same with death, its just a word and I'm fully confident even in death Zlatan will still be world class.

Who else was playing up front for PSG?

I'm not criticising Ibra here but more the shaping of events to suit the inner muppet.

In the mid term, Martial & Rashford could take the lead.

Griezmann would be a wonderful acquisition but does he really want to leave Madrid? If the answer is yes, would he prefer United? And at what price?

Sure, we need an offensive player able to play on the right.

So pardon me for only being interested in the season 16/17.

Basically his black belt Taekwondo training and meditation made him a taller version of Yoda.
