I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach he's going elsewhere.

Despite all information pointing him to us...

No chance, mate. He wouldn't disrespect Mourinho like that because they genuinely do like each other.

We could do with another proven PL striker, yes. Vardy would be ideal for us, in my opinion.. but I still don't think it will happen. Ibrahimovic would never be on our radar.. his ego wouldn't fit in Arsenal and his wages are certainly beyond our affordability.
How do you know his wage demands? The Guardian say 220K which isn't too extreme. How much is Ozil on?

I guess we'll see. If Giroud could win the Ligue 1 with Montpellier, I'm pretty sure he could do it with PSG. United fans have a tendency to draw their conclusions on players before they've even kicked a ball for them, recently.

Giroud isn't fit to lace Zlatan's boots.

If Giroud is good enough for Arsenal, Zlatan is good enough for United.

Aren't United fans just doing what you're doing?

All we have to go on are his recent performances.

I know that United fans are excited about this.. and that's understandable, but I think it has a touch of Falcao about it to be honest.

It's telling that no CL club is wiling to spend 300k a week on him despite many looking for top strikers.
Yep it's frustrating to see us miss out on Vardy instead

Considerably less 140k I believe

I agree with you. However, if you do a survey in France, 99% would say Zlatan is a better player.

Giroud is a very good target-striker but with limited technical skills. The other is much more complete.

His ego is probably exactly what your bottling lot need, tbf you've got Xhaka in which should help

Like I said, the only evidence we have on Ibrahimovic's effectiveness in the Premier League is his appearances against PL clubs in the CL. Admittedly, these represent the best the league has to offer.. but he only scored in around 15% of these games I think.

You're not seeing the bigger picture really

We have finished ahead of you for 3 straight years, mate.

Is that your goal? To finish above United? Wow ok, thought you might actually want to win the league for once

Elderly foreign forward joining on big wages with no transfer fee? They're a little alike.

I suspect you have your troll on a bit.

But we shouldn't forget Falcao was actually only 28 when we signed him...just played like he was 38
Also Falcao was a loan that did cost a fee, a fairly big fee for a loan!

I genuinely have no idea what your point is here. That United should sign a worse striker than Zlatan so Rashford has more chance of playing?
No..
I careless whether the youngster become mainstay in the team. To sign a player as a stop gap is not progressive thinking for a club wanting sustained long term success.
What happens when Zlatan moves on and Rashford or Martial can't step up to the desired level? Do we go thru a period of being patient with them or bring Defoe out of retirement? Do we go after someone like Embolo who is around the same age but with more experience?
I'd rather an Aubameyang type and say to the lads dislodge him if you can. Not this lets reduce them to understudy and in a year or 2, we'll see how they've come on.
I don't have reservations on what Zlatan is capable of just don't like the scenario.

No.. but you're acting like we're crap and United are much better or something.

No my point was you need some egos in your dressing room. Your problem isn't even talent its winning mentality.
I can critique your team without saying United have been better you know.

Vardy is not what ye need at all. Ye come up aganst teams parking the bus which Vardy struggles with which was shown from his goals drying up near the end of the season when teams copped on to Leicester. And Zlatan is a fantastic player but not a long term option which is why I think a lot of teams haven't went for him.

Convinced Arsenal players would trade six medals for a six pack..

Yep you are lucky to have him. Very jealous

Unfortunately, we don't have him yet. I'd like to remind you that he scored 1 less goal in the League than your top 3 scorers put together.

Straw clutching argument IMO.

People used to use similar arguments against Messi because he struggled for goals against some English teams.

In both cases the player's class is undeniable.

Very funny to see fans of clubs like Liverpool (Giroud) or Liverpool (Origi) saying Zlatan is not good enough.

All these 3 strikers played in the French league...

28 in "Kanu" years maybe!

I bet whatever the loan fee was won't be much different than whatever signing on fee Zlatan will get.

Honestly I do think Ibrahimovic will be a very good signing but people are looking at the Falcao deal with the benefit of hindsight, at the time it was a good idea.

The Zlatan deal is not that different than the Falcao one was.

They also have world beaters like Benteke, and soon one-trick-pony Vardy which is extremely proven (for one season in a specific system, that is.)

Its a great deal for both him and United.

He will be able to concentrate on the PL for most of the season. We wont need to use him that much in the early stages of the cups.

THE big announcement will be about his clothing line it seems.Although that was already set on june 7. Right now only zlatan knows.

It's telling that no CL club is wiling to spend 300k a week on him despite many looking for top strikers.

Did you even for a second think before you posted that?

How many European clubs do you think can pay 300k a week?

Barcelona/Real - he's already had a spell at one, and the other just won the Euro cup!
PSG - he's there already
City? Play Aguero, and Ibra dislikes Pep apparently .

That leaves us. While many seem to relish putting us down, we are still a monumental draw.

A pal at work said to me, why would anyone leave Leicester, as all the money is ramping up with the TV deal.
He seems blind to the fact that others can pay way more, and even if Leicester could suddenly pay more, everyone else can too, keeping that gap!

Which clubs are looking for a top striker while having the money to spend that much on a single player's wages?

Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern and City have their strikers. PSG are out of the question. The only realistic Champions League club left is Arsenal, really.

Just posted similar, but I doubt Bayern or Arsenal could get anywhere near the wages anyway.
And clearly he's been at Barce, and dislikes Pep, and both are top of their game anyway

Just a bit:
During his spell at Barcelona, Ibrahimović had a falling-out with coach Pep Guardiola, culminating in a dressing room incident in which Ibrahimović threw a training-kit box across the room and screamed insults at Guardiola. Guardiola eventually refused to speak to Ibrahimović and loaned him out to Milan.[191] Barcelona vice president Carles Vilarrubi further revealed that Ibrahimović had threatened to publicly beat up Guardiola if he was not released to Milan.[192]

I'd still hold off on the smugness until he actually has a successful season

Utd fans should really have learnt from these last few years. There are no certs
