Zlatan Ibrahimovic | Rises a day early

Ha ha. Ray Hudson. He would have said, "Magisterial from the greatest Swede since Nobel! Framed like a total Bergman film, all stark angles and monochrome poetry. Like ABBA themselves, like IKEA, he's greater than the sum of his parts."

Ray Hudson is just annoying. Don’t get the fascination. If being a weirdo gets you fans, go to the weird part of internet and knock yourself out. Don’t ruin the games to the point I have to mute the TV

Amazing career end for Zlatan, especially for growing his clothing brand. Comes to the biggest profiled club in the world, does extremely well all things considered then moves to the biggest club in the USA.

Name all over the papers & T.V. He's no fool.

Goal/assist every 102minutes he played for United. I've heard that's the second-best goalpoints to minute ratio in United history, but I don't know if that's true.
It is certainly a lot better than Lukaku so far though.

He was great on Jimmy Kimmel show, plays up his character to perfection. It's the type of confidence the Americans love, so it works brilliant for him.

"In Europe, the football is huge, is big, so wherever I went ... people get crazy," Ibrahimovic said. "People told me, 'When you get to Los Angeles, don't worry. You can walk on the streets out there.' But since day one, no, it's busy everywhere. It's my own fault -- if you play the way I do, I mean."

Love him. Also feel like a big part in our seemingly fragile mentality and things like the Pogba situation getting out of hand could have been at least a bit negated if Ibra didn't get injured and was still a big part of the squad. He has the temperament and charisma that he wouldn't let anyone really act like that, and would demand a much higher standard of play from everyone. Yeah we weren't great last season, but for the most part, it was a lot of bad finishing and just not making the most out of good play, and then being a bit unbalanced in terms of players at our disposal. It was not a case of players seemingly not putting in the effort, not caring, lack of emotional balance, all that stuff that we've been seeing since the New Year this season.

Feel like he'd give Pogba a slap in the head if he put in some of the performances he has the last few months, and Pogba himself would probably look up to Ibra enough to not let his standards slip that much while both were on the pitch.

I'm happy that we got him, even if it was just for one year. Shame we didnt splash out in 2009 for him, when Ronaldo left.

Well said mate totally agree , Zlatan and Pogba had a fantastic relationship and Zlatan really brought the best out in him, for all Zlatan,s ego he was a supreme professional a fantastic role model for the rest of the players and a charismatic natural leader I think his influence has been sadly missed by the whole club and particularly by Pogba

Did he mean that if he was single, he would have spread his investment among US women?

We got Zlatan when he was too old. Imagine if he had signed for us 3-4 years ago. We would have won a PL title easy
Not sure about that, Moyes and Van Gaal wouldn't have won the title for us no matter the players imo! Also Van Gaal and Ibra hated each other so that wouldn't have worked.

If we got him instead of Barca back in 09 though (replacing Ronaldo as the star), definitely think we would have won at least one of the 2 titles we missed out on. Probably both. Crazy to think but we won 3 titles in a row, then of the next 4 we easily won 2 and missed out on the other 2 by 1 point and then by goal differential. And 3 of those 4 years post Ronaldo were spent having Rooney partner welbeck, hernandez or Berba (plus 1 half season of Rooney being useless). Could've been 7 titles in a row if we replaced Ronaldo with anyone.

Obviously Zlatan being here would have meant LVG wouldn't have been here. It goes without saying. We would have won it the year Leicester won

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic has earlier declined the option to play in the national team - and he hasn't changed his mind.

"I spoke with Zlatan this Tuesday. He informed that he has not changed his mind regarding international play - no is the final answer, says national team manager Lars Richt"

:(

This. Loved the way Ibra would bark at other players during the match.

At least this was pure shithousery from Zlatan, including the lovely theatrics. The way he got your hattrick last year against St. Etienne after winning a penalty with a bit of a dive was way worse as it wasn't even funny.

Man, this commentator has an annoying voice.

Always irritates me when an announcer says that the post / crossbar ‘denies’ a player when the ball was struck at an angle that took the ball away from the goal, actually any shot angle. Take the post away in this situation, the ball goes out of play passing over the touch line where the crossbar was. Even if the ball was dipping directly into the goal and it rebounded off the crossbar, it still would have been out since the whole ball would not have crossed inside of the goal line.

Balls off the post / crossbar can actually give an advantage to the offense as it keeps the ball in play and potentially offers up second and third attempts.

A minor quibble, I know!

Haven't La Galaxy had a really poor start to the season?

Hmm.... first slapping a guy due to pure arrogance, then faking an injury for minutes to get out of trouble when he knows they have VAR in the States? Pretty pathetic Zlatan.... at least stand up for what you’ve just done.
