Youth Reports

Campbell is doing well. hope just grows a little then im sure he'll be in the reserves before we know it.

got good pace, good finisher but just needs to bulk up. but of course he has time.

Does anyone have any info on the Mediterrian cup that the youth team is going to? Any links, squad, fixtures and such?

The Stockport game at 7 pm in Pontins tonight:
County: Cutler, Brownhill, Kay, Hadfield, Raynes, McAllister, Douglas, Tomlinson, Barlow, Le Fondre, Evans.
Subs: Best, Duncan, Oakes, Yoffe, Foster.

United: Heaton, Picken, Lawrence, Ngalula, Pique, Jones, Neumayr, Heath, Poole, Kleberson, Collett.
Subs: Spector, Eckersley, Fox, Rossi, Bellion.

Lost 2-1. Bellion freekick was our goal.

Not a single bad tackle in the match. Heath (capt) got booked on 88 minutes for a bit of nonsense to be the first YC of the game. Then manages to get a second YC 3 minutes later in conceding the freekick from which their winner arrived.

Tom Heaton had bugger all to do bar pick ball out of net twice plus one other save of note. Their keeper was very busy but still we contrived to lose this one. Bollocks.

Before you ask oskarutd -

Spector & Bellion (for N'Galula & Kleberson) HT, Fox (for D. Jones) 59 minutes.

hehehehe
thanks, you know me to well!
It´s all for the bookkeeping!
But wasn´t it Rossi for fox? Their official site seems to think so.

I have every confidence that there was no-one from the official site there. I was there and I can guarantee that David Fox came on for David Jones. The Stockport PA announced him as Rossi but I know my Fox from my Rossi!
So you were there!
I take you word of course over Stockports official site.
Isn´t Fox kind of Reddish?
The same thing for them?
At least no United fan will think Fox is Rossi!

His hair does look a bit reddish in this photo but in real life it's more blond I'd say. It's also a lot shorter now than in this photo.

By the way, I'm told he has just returned to the UK after 1 week at FC Den Haag in Holland where he was on trial. He will be released by United this summer so is touting himself around looking for work. Also some interest from Shrewsbury where he had been on loan earlier this season. I have no word how the week went for him but may find out tomorrow night at Altrincham.

Did Jones get injured

Was Kleberson any good?

No and no.

I would imagine that DJ was subbed off to save him for tonight's match versus WBA. No signs of injury.

Kleberson played a few searching passes but was nothing like influential enough for someone of his class. Twas his first outing for several months and after an operation so perhaps it's unfair to judge on those 45 minutes. Maybe he'll get more time tonight too.

Sorry, my lousy way of wordplaying is not understood!
The animal fox is reddish?
Sorry, lousy joke!

I saw that Poole and Collett are also on trial,at Bristol City. Howard has also been at a trial.
Tierney and Nardiello are most likely also going, along with Djordjic, who is on lone with Rangers.
Heath is also rumoured to be set free along with Picken.
Those nine have contracts finishing in the summer. It was rumored that there were 9 leaving, so I guees Hogg and Lee is safe for now.
Also, Ryan said about Gomez that he would get a career at an European club, so it seems he will also leave this summer on a free.

Hogg has been on trails at other clubs, he will be released. I thought Picken was given a new contract.

I thought so too, alongwith Eckersley until ´07. But there are some Threads about Picken be released. Strange but true.

one thread

However Sbragia says on our official site:
Sbragia conceded: "The problem we've got at present is that the numbers are getting smaller and smaller. We started off with 32, and now we're down to about 18.

"A lot of players are out on loan and also we've released six or seven players and that knocks the numbers down a bit. We've just got to be careful in training, maybe cut our training down a little bit because we've got a number of games to play."

Not too sure, I remember reading an article saying Picken got a new contract.

He has been the star of the u-17s.
Sure about your sources?

Shh im just fecking with Plech, he may have already topped himself though. Oh well.

Ben Collett and Steven Hogg who were at the Academy Exit Trials in Lilleshall a couple of weeks ago are definetely on their way out.

Vladimir Smicer, Mauricio Pellegrino and Antonio Nunez line up for Liverpool Reserves when they take on Everton in the mini derby at Southport's Haig Avenue on Thursday night.
Liverpool will also field trialist Stephen Hogg, a 19-year-old recently released by Manchester United. Hogg can play centre half or central midfield and Paul Harrison lines up in goal.

Reds reserve manager Hughie McAuley is without the likes of John Welsh, Richie Partridge and Darren Potter, away on international duty with England Under-21s and Republic of Ireland Under-21s respectively. Anthony Le Tallec doesn't figure either.

I always thought Collett was quite underrated. Good player, just doesn't get into the game enough.

I think his broken leg affected him a lot. After than he seemed to pull out of any 50/50 challenges, which is understandable, but it stopped him developing properly.

Cooper back

Latics suffer Cooper blow

Manchester United have recalled striker Kenny Cooper from his loan spell at Boundary Park.

The 20-year-old American has scored three goals in nine matches for Oldham since arriving on loan in January.

Cooper scored twice in boss Ronnie Moore's first game in charge of the Latics, a 3-0 home win against Port Vale earlier this month.

The Baltimore-born forward only arrived at Old Trafford as a trainee last summer.

Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Boshell has joined League Two Bury on loan until the end of the season.

Boshell has made 20 appearances for the Latics this season, scoring one goal.

Spoke to David tonight before the WBA game. He hasn't yet been to Holland for his trial. Can't really spare the time at the moment as the United reserve squad has been slashed with players released left and right and the Academy boys are away in Spain. Still on the cards for him to go there for a look but not sure when. Rotherham is still a possible destination too. Shrewsbury seems less likely as they have changed manager since his loan spell there. Other clubs (no names offered) have also been in touch so he'll surely find a new home somewhere.

Great.

We're 6 points clear of 2nd place Villa, and 8 points clear of Man City, but City have a game in hand.

5 games left to play, 4 of them are at home, including the final game of the season against Man City.

Picken and Eckersley out?

Falkirk, leaders of the Scottish first division, had three representatives at last night’s match and they were understood to be watching United’s teenage full-backs Phil Picken and Adam Eckersley.

I saw a minibus with Falkirk signwritten on it pulling into the carpark before the match but didn't make the connection.

I've been led to believe that both Picken and Adam Eckersley had been given short contracts with United - either 12 or 24 months. If so then it's not obvious why the Scots were down to look at them. Perhaps they'll take Kleberson!!

I thought eckersley was really promising or was that his brother richard?

Adam has done terrifically well in the second half of this season. Has been a regular at left back in the Prem reserve team and looks solid and secure in that role.

Richard has been kept on from the U-16's set-up and will be in the Academy squad for next season. They look strikingly similar and although I've only seen him play once, Richard seems to have a similar playing style to his older brother too.

How many goals Rossi already scored for reserves this season ?
