We can't really know that. He is not my top choice too, but saying that is beyond stupidity. We can't write someone off, even before he gets the job.

I'm not definitively writing him off. It's just an opinion of what would happen which has some merit as he hasn't won anything in his career. If he becomes our manager I will back him when I'm at Old Trafford.

In anycase I've always said Ferguson was always the main reason we outsmarted the sugar daddies.

#mufc sources say successor announcement "soon", and "he'll be cut from same cloth as Ferguson and Busby, and believe in youth development"

It's Moyes lads.

Day just got even shittier.

Well Moyes hasn't even won an away game at a Top 4 stadium in his career!
Anyway the manager needs to resign and Moyes' contract runs out in the summer so he doesn't need to resign so maybe it's someone else.

Laughing stock? We're the biggest club in England by far. Everyone is playing catch up with us.

We will in NO WAY be a laughing stock. Give whoever it is a chance FFS.

Which mean that the manager is Scottish and his name is David Moyes.

Not the top choice for me, of course, but he is a good manager. Hopefully he will do good.

Barcelona invented the tic tac football. United will reinvent the hoof hoof football.

There is nothing at all even remotely exciting about David Moyes. Nothing.

I will support Moyes if he is selected of course. You have to admit that he won't bring any player pulling power a la Mourinho or Klopp though.

I'll support him too but you're right. No CL experience either. Huge gamble if it happens.

Jupp isn't retiring yet is he? He might be 68 but would be a good short term solution.

Not even that hes Fergie's choice?

If its him, its because thats who the greatest manager in football history says is the one to replace him.

Its good enough for me.

Underwhelming, but give him a chance lads. We ridiculed Chelsea fans for their treatment of Benitez, so lets just give Moyes an opportunity to show what he can do.

At least give Moyes a chance, if he fails then you can criticise.

I think it's fair enough to criticise anyone based on past experience although we could do without the "feck off Moyes, you're not wanted here" posts.

If Moyes proves people wrong then they should show some humility.

In the circumstances and being realistic, Mourinho.

So why does everyone thing it's Moyes and taking it as fact? Just because Sky think it'll be announced soon..

Because it just is going to be him. We can choose any manager in the world but we don't want to pay for one. It's a fecking huge risk.

Sky : "Manchester United not looking for Quick fix or hired gun".

No CL experience, nothing won at all, hasnt worked with a single player Id consider United quality apart from maybe Baines

The whole thing points towards Moyes, who is also being backed heavily on Betfair...

Time for him to get a big send off at Everton too.

Whoever it is, fecking hell what a job.

Who is Moyes' agent? All the players will fecking be after him. We'll have Heskey at Chelsea in no time.

:wenger:

Why are people already deciding it's Moyes? Being cut from the same cloth as Sir Alex and focussing on youth development doesn't clarify anything. Could be Klopp for all we know.

Man Utd could be the very making of Moyes. Everyone shouldn't be so down of him taking over at United. Whoever the manager will be, will get my respect!

If it is Moyes, I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job.

Some of you deserve to be banned. Idiots.

This. Given that Fergie will have a MASSIVE input in who manages us next, and if it is Moyes, it is essentially belittling and criticizing the one last big decision that Fergie gets to make. Really sad, some of the comments.

Not only were Chelsea ridiculed for their treatment of Rafa, so were the skip lickers for their treatment of hodgson, Moyes hasn't even GOT the job and is being torn to bits on here, Hypocrisy much?

Why are you all suddenly convinced it's Moyes? A few pages ago you were convinced it was Mourinho!

No one can begrudge the fact that Moyes definitely deserves a chance at a big club, with a limited budget he has done well at Everton but I think the problem that many fans have is that he has not won anything and is unproven in Europe, therefore it is a bit of a step down in the eyes of the fans.

Whereas someone like jose with a proven calibre is not a step down more a continuation of a success, which is more easy to comprehend for the fans.

but you need to think about the backroom staff who have been an united for years, moyes would work with them, jose would want an entire overhaul probably.

Moyes is a risk, but it is the logical decision.
