Your ideal 11 - 2018/19 and outs (being realistic)

Id like to see this team 1. De Gea, 2. Thomas Muenier, 3. Luke Shaw, 4. Nemanja Matic, 5. Eric Bailly, 6. Phil Jones, 7. Alexis Sanchez, 8. Paul Pogba, 9. Marcus Rashford, 10. Jesse Lingard & 11. Anthony Martial

Squad 12. Young 13. Romero, 14. Smalling 15. Herrera, 16. Lukaku, 17. Axel, 18. TFM, 19. Gomes, 20. Chong, 21. McTominay & 22. Jorginho

Outs - Darmian, Blind, Lindelof, Fellaini, Carrick(Coach) & Mata.

Realistic is probably 5 in and 6 or 7 out so something like,

Out:

Johnstone, Darmian, maybe a centre back, Blind, Fellaini, Carrick and Wilson with Zlatan already gone

In:

Right back, left back (Alex Sandro), maybe a centre back, central midfielder and a right sided forward

Starting 11 next season would then be

De Gea, new right back, Bailly, Jones or new centre back, new left back, new midfielder, Matic, Pogba, new right forward, Lukaku, Sanchez

It looks like the no value in the market/Glazers wont spend in a different disguise if Mourinho is saying we wont spend big, when its obvious we need to. Only buying 2 CM players wont cut it and maybe he has his hand forced to start using the youth. I wold go for Neves and Fabinho to cover DM and AM. Neves also has fantastic long range shooting and free kicks in his locker.
In reality Neves wont leave the Wanderers as they will probably spend big. I read their owners are second only to City in the rich league.
We could do with shifting half a dozen out, but if true hes only bringing 2 in, it will be to replace Fellaini & Carrick. Maybe Darmian will go as well.

Not my ideal, but what i think we will do.

IN:

Djibril Sidibe ~ 40m
Kieran Tierney ~ 20m
Fred ~ 40m
Malcom ~ 40m

OUT:

Daley Blind ~ 15m
Matteo Darmian ~ 15m
Luke Shaw ~ 20m
Michael Carrick ~ End of contract
Marouane Fellaini ~ End of contract

Alexis - Lukaku - Malcom
Pogba - Matic - Fred
Tierney - Jones - Smalling - Sidibe
DDG

-

Rashford
Martial - Lingard - Mata
McTominay - Herrera
Young - Rojo/Lindelof - Bailly - Valencia
Romero

Would be nice with a DM to rotate with Matic, but 5 players is maybe a bit too optimistic.
I think you are optimistic with your price valuations.

Very unlikely you would sell at those prices, way overvalued.

I'd bet on this.

De Gea
Valencia Smalling Alderweireld Ghoulam
Matić
Fred Pogba
Willian Lukaku Sánchez

Out:
Martial
Darmian
Blind
Shaw
Fellaini
That would be awesome, but quite a question mark over Toby's (ang Ghoulam's) fitness.

Fred and Willian would be great signings, but would Chelsea sell Willian?

Out: Martial, Pogba, Shaw

New contracts: Fellaini, Young, Valencia, Smalling, Jones

De Gea
Valencia Smalling Jones Young
Matic Fellaini
Rashford Lingard Alexis
Lukaku

Wouldn't expect to see a lot of players coming in. According to Mourinho, having signed Sanchez in January, he only feels we need two transfers in the summer.

"Our transfer market in the summer will be short," he said towards the end of last month. Mourinho also indicated there would be just two additions.

"We get one or two players just to improve a little bit the squad and then in the summer you are going to do it again," he said of Alexis Sanchez's January arrival. "No. In the summer, we would probably have three transfers to do. If we do one now, in the summer it is three minus one." And there is one area Mourinho has promised not to strengthen.

"I don’t want attacking players, so don’t speak about attacking players that are coming here because nobody is coming here," he stressed two weeks ago. "We have Mata, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Alexis, I don’t want attacking players, speculation in the summer you have to go to other areas, attacking players I am really happy."

Mourinho has already made it clear he wants a midfielder, so that's one singing. I personally feel the other signing should be a left back.

we need a new RB - Muenier.

a new CB - probably Alderweireld if the price is right. i'll keep smalling, jones, bailly and lindelof and let rojo go.

LB- Sessegnon if Jose let Shaw go. Englishman for an Englishman. and Sessegnon does look like a gem.

CM- Maybe Savic with Herrera as our 4th choice CM in a 3 man midfield.

RW- someone with real pace, unlikely to happen though, with Mata, Lingard, Rashford as options now. i just hope jose will put alexis on the right and let martial stays on the left, which is unlikely to happen too.

OUTS:
Darmian
Shaw
Blind
Rojo
Carrick (retire)
Fellaini

Fred and Milinkovic-Savic seem like Mourinho type players. If we can pull off Willian or Ousmane Dembele in exchange for Martial, it could work out. Dembele is an out and out RW. Eventhough wouldn't want to lose Martial but I feel we are bound to losing him this summer.

De Gea
Meunier / Jones / Alderweield / Tierney
Matic / Neves / Pogba
Alexis / Lukaku / Perisic

I'm pretty impartial as far as full backs so long as they're not Young, Tony V or Shaw. It will be our most important squad upheaval.

Perisic, Willian or other. Pretty much looking for intelligence and delivery over fancy footwork or pure speed

Can't be more realistic than that.

fecking Rojo? Aside from a few months of purple form before his serious knee injury, he's been pants for us. Definitely below Bailly, Smalling, Jones, and Lindelof in the pecking order. And that's assuming we don't buy another center half.

Out: Romero (5m), Rojo (15m), Darmian (15m), Blind (15m), Shaw (20m), Fellaini (free), Carrick (retire), Mata (15m) - 85M
In: Sandro (45m), Alderweild (40m), Savic (60m), Fred (35m), Bale (60m) - 240m
Net spend 155m approx

People will lambaste me for the Bale signing, but I think he'd be incredible for us. He's still a world class player with bags of experience. The other area where I will get shit, is for not signing a right back. This is because I believe Bailly should play there. He's got great pace, is good at running with the ball, is defensively astute, and played very well there for Villarreal. I think such a squad provides the sort of balance we need, between silk and steel. Gives us variety of approach. Infuses some squad with players that know what it's like to win, and bring with them vital experience. I honestly think this squad would challenge very strongly for the premier league title and the Champions League.

A Matic, Pogba, Savic midfield three would be ridiculously dominant.

My XI for tough games:

De Gea

Alderweild___ ____ Jones

Bailly ____________________________ Sandro

Matic

Savic __________ Pogba

Bale ______________________________ Sanchez

Lukaku

My XI teams that park the bus:

De Gea

Alderweild ____ Jones

Bailly ____________________________ Sandro

Matic __________ Pogba

Bale ________________ Sanchez ______________ Martial

Lukaku

Squad (25 man):

GK: De Gea, Pereiera, Henderson
RB: Bailly, Valencia
LB: Sandro, Young
CB: Alderweild, Smalling
CB: Jones, Lindelof
DM: Matic, Fred
RCM: Savic, Herrera
LCM: Pogba, Andreas
AML: Sanchez, Martial
AMR: Bale, Lingard
FC: Lukaku, Rashford

All purpose coverage: Fosu-mensah, Chong

Loans: Tuanzebe, Mctominay

That's the whole point in signing full-backs.

Have we already activated the extra year on his contract? If we have, my bad. Have you been keeping up with the market lately? I've seen plenty of average players get sold for decent prices. Hell, we sold Schneiderlin for something like £25m last season without him looking good for us at all and Depay (a flop) was sold for £16m rising up to £22m. Shaw's shown huge potential in the past and is still only 22. I have no doubts we could get a good price for him. Blind too, has proven to be a good, multi-functional player, so £25m sounds about right when Lindelöf is valued at £35m. Darmian would easily go for £15m to a team in Italy like Juve. Keep in mind that he actually looked pretty good back in Italy, so is just better suited to their football. Feck knows how you don't think Jones can go for near £30m. When VVD's going for £75m, that's a fair price, injuries considered.

What other players have sold for doesn't mean squat. You have to look at the situation. A player we want to keep we will get a lot more money for. A player we want to offload? Not so much. As for your examples of players we sold recently that we got good money for, the only head scratcher is Schneiderlin. But Everton has been more than willing as of late to throw a lot of money at average players. Depay (who wasn't a flop and we never should have sold) went for way too little. He's a good and YOUNG player who will probably move on from Lyon for a lot more than that. As for Jones, I certainly hope we don't sell him. He's United though and through and still a very young player who hasn't even reached his prime yet. Sure, his injuries are frustrating, but when he's healthy he's among the best defenders in the league...

In the last 3 decades, have we ever had 11 out and 5 in?
This is not realistic.

And the idea that we should sell Rojo and Blind, while keeping Shaw?
Rojo and Blind have each put in more good performances than Shaw, over the last few years.
And let's not forget that Shaw is either injured, unfit to play, fat or all 3? On what basis would anybody in the right mind want to keep Shaw? He is into the final year of his contract this Summer and we need to off-load him. If lucky, we might get £10M, though more likely it will be closer to the £5M. The guy just doesn't seem keen on being a pro footballer.

In LVG's 2 seasons with us we saw 33 players sold or released. Yes, you read that right. 33 players in two seasons. Not a typo

I keep seeing people suggesting that they want us to sell Jones and Smalling? I don't get it? These are the type of players that you need. Players who play for the name on the front of the shirt, not the name on the back of it.
What, Chevrolet?

Very unlikely you would sell at those prices, way overvalued.

Both Darmian and Blind are full internationals. I'd imagine you would get 15m easy for them. Also Smalling would be sold domestically. With the PL money, him being English, in his prime and a double winning league player you'd easily get 30m+.

Martial maybe overvalued for some but I rate him highly so wouldn't like him sold for less personally.

I think Carrick, Fellaini, Blind and Darmian will leave, probably Shaw as well. We're losing a lot of experience and versatility, so perhaps Jose will look for a more comparable replacement, but I would give the younger players a chance. We may also be in for another right back, in which case I'd have a look at Sime Vrsaljko from Atletico, or maybe Ricardo Pereira from Porto.

Hopefully Martial will stay, but if he pushes for a move then I wouldn't be surprised if we go back in for Ivan Perisic - he's had another good season and he's great on the transition.

I think we will get one fullback, one CB, one midfielder, one forward. Martial, Shaw, Blind, Darmian and Fellaini to leave.

I have seen a lot of line-ups with Alex Sandro. Is he realistic? I wasn't aware that Juventus want to sell him.

Same scenario with Dybala, Umtiti, William, Verrati, etc... Why their teams want to sell them?

Out: Martial, Pogba, Shaw

New contracts: Fellaini, Young, Valencia, Smalling, Jones

Agreed, but I'd add Darmian into the new contract list. Just feel he hasn't hit his full potential yet and we'll regret not keeping him

Aside from the fact he doesn’t play LB and is a wide midfielder/winger

There's been reports since last summer that Juventus are willing to sell Sandro for 50M-60M.

Fred or Fabinho
Tierney or Alex Sandro
Alderweireld

Blind, Darmian, Shaw Fellaini out and maybe ship Lindelöf or Rojo

Aside from the fact he doesn’t play LB and is a wide midfielder/winger

He's played almost as many times at left back this season as he has at left wing. He'd be a very good attacking full back, besides which it has become commonplace to convert wingers into full backs in recent years anyway.

Yeah when their attacking prowess has diminished. You don’t buy the best young wide player in England and stick him at FB in a Mourinho team. He’s scored 20 league goals in just over 60 matches so why would you nullify that

Because he's nowhere near as good as Alexis Sanchez?

I don't think we'd be interested in him and I don't think he's stupid enough to join us. Hopefully Fulham get promoted and he can stay there and develop.

Then why the feck are you arguing with me?

I'm just saying he can play at left back. There is an argument for playing him there until he is more developed - the kind of development path of Bale. We may sign him and give him games in both positions for fear of him going to a rival and missing out on a top talent, perhaps.

You seem a little touchy today mate, you ok?
