Yevhen Konoplyanka

You seem to be forgetting that players are also people and sometimes these players make career decisions based on other aspects of their life. It's quite likely he has received offers from some of the top leagues and turned them down up until now. That does not mean there is something wrong with the player. It is not always the case that good players move to big clubs as soon as they establish themselves on the international stage (which Konoplyanka has already done). This is real life rather than some computer game were you put in a bid, the club accepts it and the only thing left to do is discuss personal terms. Other factors come into play.

This.

Some players are comfortable making a good living in their homelands and for other reasons as well will turn down moves abroad to bigger leagues. Konoplyanka is on 1.2M a year right now and is surely set for life already. This is enough for some players. The other poster needs a grip on reality tbh. Real life isn't FM where you grab all the great young players.

Not according to Roman Abramovich.

OMG you're an elitist! Do you think he's suddenly getting attention from the bigger clubs for nothing? You make it seem like very player above 25 who isn't playing in a league of your fancy has no chance in hell. Why do you think United and Liverpool are interested? We scouted him under Fergie at the U-21 Euros in 2011 so its not like he's just some unknown player the scouts saw on FM. You know zero about his ability to adapt to any league above his own. Very negative, you almost guarantee the poor guy will fail SMH.

He is getting attention from Liverpool and from us...Not exactly blowing me out of my chair ! Liverpool like to sign players like Aspas and Aissaidi, no doubt he would fit brilliantly into that list (i'd just prefer it if we could stay clear from such names).

You also know zero about that ability, I just know the guy is used to playing 25 games a season with a 3 month holiday right in the middle and not 50-60 games without a break. It has been a problem for many new players adapting to this type of schedule and the increased intensity of the games. Why wouldn't it be a problem for him ?

I guarantee nothing, I just think the chances of him failing here are bigger than him succeeding here is all, and I have very good arguments to back that up. Not every player that has pace and technical ability is automatically good enough to be a top winger for a club like Manchester United, I remember watching Young at Villa and being impressed with his pace and ability, yet he failled miserably here and the difference between Villa and United is smaller than Dnipro and United. What I'am saying is, this signing is a huge risk and I'd prefer it if we went for a more proven player (even if it means paying 2 or 3 times more than what we would have to pay for Yheven). There are more than enough crappy players at this club, no need to add another.

I don't think he'll move anywhere. But I could imagine him looking pretty average (with some very good days every now and then) at a team like Swansea.

In addition to that Diego Poyet on a free who was very highly rated by Charlton.
Thanks KM
Zarate - scored 19 in 29 last season for Velez and was top scorer in the second part of the season.
Kouyate - From Anderlecht, pretty sure he's rated quite highly and can play at CB and as a CDM - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...der-and-what-can-the-fans-expect-9546301.html

Nothing overly special but good signings nonetheless i think.
Wow, had no idea they signed Zarate. Used to rate him quite high,. Think he was at Birmingham before he moved to Serie A. Didn't even know he was back in Argentina.

Seems like the opposite of Big Sam type signings - him and Konoplyanka. Small/techno midgets.

On PES, I'd always buy him for my master league team and 3-4 seasons of development down the line, hes immense.

Kono must be pissed. Six months ago he was ready to sign for us in one of the best attacking sides around, only to be illegally blocked by his club owner.

Now, he faces the grim prospect of playing for Allardyce.

Well, their style of play is actually quite similar, but obviously Robben is both more pace- and skillful. I've been following the Ukrainian league for some time and Konoplyanka is certainly one of the players that have stood out the most along with the likes of Fernandinho and Willian in recent years. I think he could do well in the Premier League.

Apparently they're after Balanta too, someone must have bought Big Sam and Sherringham copies of Football Manager.

Weren't Liverpool in for Konoplyanka last winter until Dnipro's owner refused to sanction the transfer? While both appear to be technical wingers, who's more highly rated between Konoplyanka and Markovic? Besides their difference in age, they appear to be pretty similar except that Konoplyanka is utilized mostly on the left, while Markovic on the right. At this stage of his career, while Konoplyanka seems to be more of the finished product, does Markovic have a higher trajectory? Can someone who's watched them both weigh in?

Suarez must be pissed. 12 months ago he was ready to sign for us in one of the best attacking sides around, only to be illegally blocked by his club owner.
Fixed.

At least he'll still get to play in front of thousands of mouth breathing wankers every week.

I went for a google. Apparently, this is a thing, medically. It literally affects your facial development to make you look stupid and dopey and even causing you to have ugly crowded teeth.

Maybe West Hams interest will drive us into making a bid too. We were heavily linked a few months back and we still haven't signed a winger. We might need to offload Nani, Young etc first maybe.

Nah, he's rubbish. Even Liverpool don't want him anymore.

When they got Champions League football I think their list of targets changed, they could look in the £20-£25m bracket rather than £10-£15m, doesn't mean he's a bad player though. Would give us a different skill set to our other wingers from what I've seen.

Good news is we're not in for him, all is well. The only winger I see us getting is Depay with the dutch link.

West Ham meant to be in for Valbuena aswell. If they got those 2 the fans would be happy. Still think they need to get shut of Big Sam.

How do you know he's rubbish ? Are you active follower of the Ukrainian league ?

No not really, other than the teams that have already participated in the CL I don't know any of them.

As for the player, he's like a Ukrainian version of young, useless. Just keep TonyV/Nani/Adnan, and we're ballin'. Under LvG we'll see miracles that were failed to be seen under Moyes

How can you draw such a conclusion if as you say, you've barely seen him ?
