Yaya Toure

He's a sicknote now.

When he's fit, he's fantastic. He is comfortable on the ball, aggressive, a good passer, above all else an excellent defender. Ideal for a Pep side. If we sold him we wouldn't get much because of his injury problems, and that's ignoring his role as captain. The modest transfer sum we'd receive would in no way justify selling him. I'd expect Guardiola to leave the club before Kompany does to be honest.

I think his problems arent related to fitness but rather attitude and motivation..... he's only looked bothered in patches

Be interesting to see how hard he fights to make the first team

Nope, sorry, we simply cannot be talking about the same footballer. Out of all City's players, Kompany's attitude and motivation is the least in question.

Why Kompany?

On paper, he has a lot of the qualities Pep would likely love in a central defender but often in the big matches, he's the one guilty of the breakdown at the back. Plus, his injury record reminds me of Milito at Barcelona & Badstuber at Bayern - will he really ever shake the injury prone tag?

We'll see but I see a weak link with him and a mentality that could clash with Guardiola

I was talking about Toure mate - sorry assumed you were talking about him as it was his thread

His performance levels in the past have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous

How many big games in particular has he gone missing in.....flat track bully

Thats not even going into his petulant attitude over birthday cakes etc....

On Kompany it's fitness alright

Crossed wires there

It seems that the injury thing isnt true

'He is a player for us and he is training amazing, but I was not sure if he was going to play, and so I prefer it if he stays there training good in Manchester.

'We travelled with two young guys and for the selection I prefer it to be the young guys than Yaya Toure.

'I prefer it if he stays there training and focuses on the next game. I have a lot of respect of him, for his career and quality, but for the first days - against Sunderland - we were looking for a more intensive game. That is why he didn't play, the only reason why.'

Swap deal with Schweinsteiger?:smirk:

I'll take it tbh.

Pep should stop beating round the bush. He doesn't want him.

Just Pep being a coward like he did with Zlatan.

Sometimes its better to just it to player straight to his face that you dont want him. There is nothing wrong with that. Thats what Van Gaal did with Riquelme, who even admitted that he appreciated that rather than being lied to.

surely no one is surprised Pep wants rid of him ? hes been declining massively the last 2/3 seasons, always looks unfit as well, makes a 30 yard run with the ball then he is struggling for a breath for the next 2/3 mins which is no good for the rest of the team.

And you know this hasn't happened ? How ?

There are games being played by the players/agents of those who are out. I think they have all been told.

But with the wages they are on moving to another club is not so simple. Yaya, for example, will almost certainly sit on the last year of his contract and then pick up a large signing on bonus wherever he goes next season

Suddenly Zlatan is the reference for proper/respectful behaviour? Good to know. What is known is that no one knows what went on between Pep & Zlatan, just that Ibrahimovic no longer worked in Barcelona's system.

Yaya can work in Pep's system, whether he wants to is a different question. There is a history there but not all bad as some would like to believe from rumours

You have become like Glaston, trawling the site looking for any slight against Pep(in his case its Spurs).

You'll need to up the ante now that he is at City. Good luck.

Figured me out, I just search for Pep and respond. Maybe you'll just need to avoid being fooled by rumours, gossip & innuendo - good luck

11m quid being reported in the papers today.

Not fooled by anything.

In the statement that got you into some sort of frenzy that you quoted, I said nothing about Zlatan being the reference for good behaviour(Unless you can show me). All I said was that Pep never told him to his face that he wasnt part of his plans. Pep was perfectly entitled to change his plans but common decency dictates that you tell your record signing when you no longer need them. This was confirmed by Zlatan himself, with nothing to refute this thus far. However, your Pep obsession means that you are looking for offense in anything said about him.

Id just be wasting both our time engaging in this any further, so lets allow to rest.

Pep came out and said YT lacks the intensity off the ball, its either improve or don't play. I can see Toure sitting on his arse this year and not leaving. All Toure needs is to put effort in to get a game, which he won't.

Basically he's said that Toure isn't playing then. Because Toure no longer seems able to play with intensity, he lost that a couple of years ago.

So City will most likely be paying 300k per week to Yaya and Hart to sit on the bench?

It looks like he will stay. He is due £11m loyalty bonus of he completes his contract. Nothing City can do about it.

Hart might go if the right offer comes along but Yaya is going nowhere. That wage won't be matched at a decent club, plus all he has to wait is 12 months to get his loyalty bonus and then can go to China with a massive signing on fee. He won't play under Pep cause he's too lazy and doesn't want to. As much as I hate to say it, don't bet against him and Nasri collecting 300k a week for being morbidly obese lazy shites.

It's a shame because he should be going down as one of our all time legends (almost single handedly won our first major trophy in years, was a superstar in our first title win and probably had the best ever season a CM had in the prem when we pipped Liverpool) but his attitude has soured him forever, maybe its just me but he won't be remembered as fondly at City as Aguero, Kompany or Silva when he probably could and should have been the clubs greatest ever. Hart I think will move on and be fondly remembered by City fans for his passion for the club despite his limitations.

Reading between the lines I think he was saying Yaya was lazy off the ball

This 100%, he pretty much said he has no intensity off the ball and when that changes he will play, so it won't change and he won't play. Its a pity Pep won't do what Joe did to Schwein and alienate him from training etc... cause the guy is like a virus with that attitude, just wait for the poor me articles to come from his agent.

I wonder what kind of birthday cake he will receive this year, that could be the deal-breaker.

Reading between the lines I think he was saying Yaya was lazy off the ball

I'm not sure anyone really had to read between the lines with his comments but the message is clear, if they can't transfer him they'll loan him out. Can't imagine he remains if he's never going to make the effort, would send the wrong message. But, he may be working his tail off in training for all we know. Speculation that he will play in the CL return leg against Steau

There was some speculation that maybe Yaya could slot in as a CB in Pep's system, but I guess that's a no go. If they go the loan route, who would take him? His wages would be prohibitive, so City would have to pay a big chunk of it. If he was willing to play ball-playing CB, maybe Arsenal?

With Pogba in the league, we're going to see what a midfielder who does the explosive matchwinning things but is then also happy to contribute for the rest of the match too looks like. Touré's been getting away with one for years now. No surprise at all that Guardiola doesn't plan to continue to indulge him.

His agent suggested us and arsenal were interested. Unlikely to happen for obvious reasons and hard to see where he'd fit in here, but the muppet in me...

He is so lazy, we sure as hell are not interested. If we kicked out Schweini, why the feck should we want this cake loving fatty? His agent using us to drum up interest, forget it

His agent must think people are stupid.

Wenger is not going to pay Yaya £200k a week especially when he has better CM options and just loaned out Wilshere.

And Mourinho is not going to want a lazy midfielder.
