Yaya Toure

I am truly surprised to see this still being trotted out. United, Liverpool, Arsenal sign players for big fees on big wages from other clubs and it's all good but City do the same and they are mercenaries.

Given the track record of winning trophies over the past few years it is far more arguable that players join City for the glory and United, Liverpool and Arsenal for the money.

The truth, of course, is that players want to win things but they also want to be well paid. If City's players can be described as mercenaries then so can most of the players at the top clubs in England.

Back on topic. Yaya has been truly awesome for City at his peak and worth every penny paid. But it does look like his mind is writing cheques his body can't cash now and so it's probably time for him to go.

Sorry old chap, but no one is joining City for the "glory" of it.

I hope he stays. I don't see him as that much of a threat anymore and is a liability from time to time.

Hopefully he's just there for the big pay cheque and is a bit of a nightmare in the dressing room.

It seems that he's forgiven the City brass for forgetting his birthday

What you are talking about? The likes of Nasri, Aguero, Toure and Silva who were instrumental in you winning two titles all joined before you won anything. I mean you can call it what you want like a "project" but you know its because of the money that they did join.

So not because they believed they were joining a team capable of winning, you know, a couple of league titles? Aguero and Nasri joined a team that had just finished joint second and won an FA Cup.

a stinky rotten apple in the changing rooms all season, with the guy who sold him? Delightful news

He'll bleed them points when he starts. They can just reorder the with and without Kompany's infographic.

He's done. He's washed up. Best part, he has a piss poor attitude. He's the insidious type. They will regret not moving him on.

Joint second?

So did we finish joint top?

You wouldnt have won the league the first time if it wasnt for Aguero. So yeah mercenaries since you guys hadnt won anything before that.

Your argument makes no sense. Aguero won the league with City in his first season, so unless you're suggesting he joined City believing the team were incapable of winning anything, then there is no substance to your attempt to label him a mercenary. By your logic Cantona was a mercenary when he joined United.

Not in the squad again. And journalists saying again that he isn't injured.
Seluk, is basically saying, pay me and I leave.

He won't leave unless he gets a nice big wedge to do so!

My guess would be he'll leave on a free to China or Qatar next year.

Seems like a similar problem to what we have with Schweinsteiger.

If he leaves City and the PL I am going to miss him and his agent. They have been something straight out of 30 Rock.

Hasn't he turned down an offer from China this window already?? Might've been just paper talk though

He will be on a fortune at city so he might aswell stay there and get paid to do feck all fir this season

Pep wanted Yaya to stay at Barcelona as far as I know, just couldn't promise he would be first choice.

Exactly. The falling out is mostly linked to that and Seluk unsettling his client trying to push for higher wages

I predicted 4 City players would eventually be shown the door upon Pep's hiring with 3 already heading to the exit: Nasri, Hart, Yaya & Kompany

Yeah that's what I mean, he'll probably take his big money this year and leave to either those countries on a free with a big signing on bonus! Can't blame him really.

Why Kompany?
