Hi-Fi Rush is actually a fecking brilliant game, it is a steal at $30. Loving it.

Gamepass is a bigger steal. You can get a year for like 60 dollars. Do that instead!

@afrocentricity did you actually watch the Forza stuff?

You gush over last gen GT so I'm imagining you're buzzing.

Yeah I loved Forza but it's not enough to splash on a XBox right now when I have GT7 with VR support. I told you before, I'll get one when there's enough compelling software, and you've been promising that it's coming...

He’d be peeing his pants in excitement if it was coming out on PS5
Fixed

Surprised to say this but Goldeneye is still a really fun game. The controls don't feel like ass while playing a proper controller and it feels novel playing an objective based shooter, ie one that isn't simply about getting from a to b alive. The trial and error approach gives it a puzzle-ish flavour and the small levels mean it's fun to replay on higher difficulties, which come with more challenging objectives. Facility took me an hour on secret agent because I kept blowing the wrong shit up and getting an unhealthy dose of noxious gas in my lungs. Dr Doak being in any one of seventeen locations meant I had to explore all the level just to find him - a very old school approach to gameplay.

You are coming close to being the worst "gamer" on here.

"Oh goldeneye isn't actually that bad!". Of course it isn't you dickhead

Don't get me wrong, it's not good by modern standards but the levels are short and sweet and it scratches that classic arcade itch well It just kinda works man

And I reiterate, it feels SO much better not being played with an N64 controller. You can actually aim the frigging gun!

The N64 controller invented analogue gaming you tool.

(PS, the game really shines at 60fps over t'internet ;) )

The HiFi Rush announcement was kind of cool and it has been getting some great reviews since too. They managed to keep the entire production under the wraps with hardly any rumors, impressive.

Started playing it today, such a good game on initial impressions! Gets everything right that High of Life tried to do.

Good, varied, fight mechanics, beautiful graphic style and is genuinely funny. Can't wait to play more.

High on Life is the one I intend to finish before I properly indulge in Hi-Fi Rush. Persona 5 is next in order.

Hi-Fi Rush is good craic for sure. Nice bonus.

Really looking forward to Atomic Heart. Looks class.

And will only have less than two weeks to play that before Wo Long comes out!

Just seen that HiFi Rush is only below Elden Ring and God of War in game ratings from the past year or something? Can't wait to try it.

Still playing HiFi Rush, I love how deep the combat gameplay is, the further you go into the game the more gameplay elements are introduced and genuinely add to the strategy in fighting.

It's great.

A lot of people dismissed it quickly because of the art style but there's a lot to it and takes a good 10 hours plus to beat.

Another fantastic month for us xbots

I actually got excitied about my own XBox for the first time last night, discovered MS Flight Simulator is available on Gamepass and it and it looks pretty good.

I re-downloaded it yesterday, having realized about multiple updates they added for US / Canada cities and just spent a couply of hours casually flying. The only thing I do not like is the size, including updates it is 200 GB already, on top of 170 GB I have dedicated to NBA 2K23 and 105 GB + for Forza Horizon 5. I don't get how people get by with Series S.

Personally I don't tend to play a lot of AAA games as they tend to be a bit too big for my liking. Like you, I'd be picking up a Series X if I played them primarily.

Halo Infinite and Forza are very annoying in terms of how they keep adding new things - the downloads should be totally optional if you're not buying all the DLC shit.

It’s a shame Xbox doesn’t support VR though. MS Flight sim looks amazing in VR. Even so, I’m looking forward to playing that as I’ve just started messing around with RC planes too. Great fun.

Checked out MS FS on Xbox series x on YouTube, looked surprisingly good.

Yeah but in my case I need to have NBA 2K, it takes up half of the space you'd have on your Series S... basically no way of then adding Forza Horizon and Flight Simulator. And these are the games you tend to keep at all times, but won't usually play them every day.

I find the size of 2K absurd though. I don't play online at all, and don't touch MyPlayer, so I probably end up using maximum half of its content.

I was actually a bit disappointed in MS FS. Was myself really looking forward to playing it on GamePass but the details of buildings in Munich I found lackluster. I have an internet connection of 30 Mbps and I know it says recommended is 50 when using live downloads of maps, but if that is what's required then it's a bit too much.

Or maybe I'm doing something wrong regarding the settings

Flight sim has always traditionally surpassed the tech of the time. I've tried it on the X and though it's impressive for what it is, it is so far behind what modern computers are actually capable of it's not even amusing.

I remember playing something like the 4th one on a state of the art diamond 2mb graphics card after looking at the magazine shot. That's pain for you

I have a friend who just spent an outrageous amount on a gaming pc. Its really impressive to be honest. They should rerelease it on consoles next generation with a bit of marketing behind it, its a different experience.

It's something that has evolved rather than being re-released. It's the original evolving "game" (not that it was ever a game to start with). I love the fact it's in the conscience again after all this time though!

In the age of "HD updates" and "remakes" the physics and modelling behind this really haven't changed all that much. It's fundamentally the same thing it started off as, and that's the most impressive thing about it.

It looks exactly as I'd expect it to look on X for me, especially in areas that they've updated with full detail. It's a very relaxing experience too, I find myself just randomly picking two cities to fly over, spend 15-20 mins doing that and then go back doing whatever I had been doing before. It is missing some buildings though, wanted to fly over Chase Center in San Francisco and it was an empty lot (despite having Oracle Park just next to it).

One more place where Quick Resume excels, as I can just jump between FS, one of Forza/NBA and the story based game that I am currently playing (which is Persona 5 now). Always have one quick pick-up game in rotation where I won't spend more than 15 minutes to pass a level (been moving between Midnight Fight Express and Ninja Turtles now).

You couldn't pay the same money for a PC than a Series X and deliver a better flight sim experience mind.

You couldn't also talk about what that would take and yet here you are. Mind.

It doesn't need to be. We were chasing storms. The real time weather is quite cool.
The more detailed areas helped too - dont know how much was the first time being on a series x and how much was updates in the mean time. It felt like a neat tech demo the first time i played it. 2nd time as i said felt different.

Since Halo Infinite was released, fans had assumed that in addition to new multiplayer modes, 343 was working on new content for the story. But that wasn't the case, according to the people familiar with the situation. Developers were making prototypes in the Unreal Engine and pitching ideas for new Halo games rather than working on new missions for Halo Infinite. Many of those developers were laid off this month and the company isn't actively working on new story content, the people said. A Microsoft spokesman declined to comment.

So much for Infinite lasting for a decade.

343 is a cancer and ruined one of the best IP's in gaming.

I felt a bit burned out and bored of Halo after Bungies last game. I'd had enough by that point so i find it hard to care how a weaker developer who only make games in a series i no longer care about are doing. People losing their jobs suck, i should put that caveat.

I quite enjoyed the two non mainline halo games ODST and Reach

the drop off when 343 took over to halo 4 and 5 was pretty dramatic…but I quite enjoyed the latest one (Infinite). Im talking single player here. I generally only play online for a few weeks before I drop any game

Microsoft buying and ruining a development team? Well, who would have seen that coming!

Certainly never happened before, surely can't happen again since they've "changed" now right?

Ms didn't buy 343 mate
