6 goals in 7 games, played at Barca and PSG in his youth and now at PSV.

Seems to play as an attacking mid

Is he worth keeping an eye on?

Deffo worth keeping an eye on in my opinion. He looks promising! Has to mature 2 more years in the Eredivisie in my opinion but I am following him closely. Love his flair!

As a Manchester United scout that's all the convincing I need.

Only Gakpo is outperforming him for the top team in the division and he's a lot younger. At 23 you need to believe that Gakpo is going to come in and be a major asset to the first team straight away. And he's good, so he would be as far as I'm concerned.

But at 19 getting in the goals and making some others, he would have a long time to adapt and improve so I could see why he might become our main target from there this season

Why is it always trap music in these videos?

Yes. Has made a solid start to his PSV career, someone to keep a close eye on

Nowhere near as good as Mejbri I was told.
You should start formulating your own opinion on players rather than rely on others telling you who is and isn’t good.

Well I posted in the Mejbri thread that he isn't the best talent in his age group in the whole world and was told that there is no one better.

Loved that dribble around the keeper at 1:35. Also, Xavi Simons just seems like the name of a top-class footballer in the making, so I reckon we should definitely keep an eye on him.

He sounds a typical FM regen footballer.

Impressed with his cameos in the Champions League qualifier against Rangers. Able to beat players 1v1 in the congested centre of the park which is quite rare and surprised he didn't play more of a role in both ties.

If I remember correctly, not making better use of Simons was one of the main criticisms at Van Nistelrooij afterwards. @Eendracht maakt macht might remember better (and has probably seen Simons most at PSV).

Has been brilliant this season so far. Let’s see how he holds up against Arsenal.

Late response but that’s true. We look miles better when he plays. Either from the right or through the middle. Has played as a false 9 too and although he did okay that’s not his strength.

what was going on in his third goal? The box was full of blue shirts and only 2 defenders

PSG didn't want to sell so they negotiated a buy back clause into the deal. Don't expect him going anywhere else if he lives up to this current hype.

That just secures the fee and gives them first refusal. The choice is still up to the player. I could see him wanting to play in a better league if he lives up to the hype.

PSV hardly has the ball and is totally dominated by Arsenal but Xavi does manage to play fairly well and have some moments.

Scored a nice goal just now vs Arsenal. Huge slice of luck involved, but he’s been bright so far this game.

Edit: disallowed!

Very good balance and composure in the box.

Love me some Xavi. The real one, not the barca fraud.

I would be surprised if PSG don't take him back.

He has been terrorising Arsenal today whenever he gets the ball.
