WWC23 | England v Spain - Spain win the World Cup - and Rubiales gets sacked

Brasil get their first and the only surprise is that it didn't come sooner.

A much more "form book" day for the big teams. France v Brazil is going to be interesting..

Jennyfer Limage - the Haiti player who went off in a lot of pain during the England match now confirmed to have ruptured her ACL

Marc Skinner is probably watching the WC hoping our transfer targets do badly so we have a chance of affording to buy them

Korea v Colombia finish off the first rotation of matches.

Then it's back to where we started but with NZ as favourites in their match against the Philippines. A win for them would put a lot of pressure on Norway to beat Switzerland and Switzerland are seldom easy to beat.

Table now:
Switzerland +2GD 3 points
NZ +1 3 points
Norway -1 0 points
Philippines -2 0 points

Meanwhile, if the Norwegian press are right, Caroline Graham-Hansen and Ingrid Engen won't be starting for Norway "for tactical reasons" - a bold move from the manager if true.

Engen is shite. Not starting Graham is criminal though.

Manuela Vanegas with a very high boot to Son Hwa-yeon's face. Obviously it is a yellow card.

Colombia in the lead in the 30th minute, from the penalty spot. It was a hand ball against the South Korean defender.

WHAT WAS THAT?

There's no way it should be a goal. That's a Karius by the South Korean goalkeeper, Yoon Young-geul!

The BBC has been made to apologize after a reporter asked a player at the WWC an 'inappropriate' question about homosexuality at a press conference.

The journalist, who reportedly works for the BBC World Service, asked national team captain Ghizlane Chebbak on Sunday: 'We know that gay marriage is illegal [in Morocco]. Are there any gay players in the team? And what is it like for them?'

Sacked in the morning,
You're getting sacked in the morning,

Ridiculous from the reporter at that Moroccan press conference - insensitive and reckless.

Phillipines weather the home town early advantage and looking better
I've just switched on the match. Are the Philippines looking good for their lead? NZ don't see to have quite the same energy today.

We started well, lots of control of the ball but no real chances created. The Phillipines just kept growing into the game. I can’t complain I think Phillipines deserve their lead

I remember seeing Annalee Longo as a 12 year old rep trialist a long time ago, she was head and shoulders above everyone else. She has only just recovered from acl injury, hope she goes well. Olivia chance can be very tricky and direct

Good save from the Philippines keeper, NZ running out of time.

Philippines get their first ever tournament win. NZ miss a great chance to get to the knockouts - really disappointing for them after their win over Norway.

Still all to play for in the final matches of the group.

Vilde Boe Risa starts for Norway. Caroline Graham-Hansen doesn't.

Hegeberg definetely protesting Graham-Hansen being benched.. we will struggle this game.

Do you reckon? Would be shocking if that's true - very hard for a squad with that kind of conflict to focus on football.
