He’a the only striker we have available because we brought him here. He wasn’t available for us when he was at Besiktas. There is no justification for him ever being brought here in the first place, and the manager needs to be overruled if he tries to sign him this summer.
Wasn't good today. We need to go for an Osimhen or Kane in the summer. We have seen what a positive impact a world class player can have (Casemiro) and we need to do the same upfront.
Watching him and Mctoninay as our 9 and 10 was surreal. I hope we can at least get some games out of Martial so we see less of Wout but wouldn’t bet on it.

Even if he has managed to keep up with play - he cannot trap the ball, he cannot take a first time shot, nor can he make a first time pass. And he isn't quick enough to meet a through ball, either. Any momentum just dissolves if you pass to him.
I’ve watched and supported this club since the 2008-09 season - he is hands down the worst player to play for us in that time. It’s not even a debate. People love to laugh at Bebe’s story of going from a homeless man to playing for United, but he scored 2 goals in 7 games.

I can't even blame him. He's living out a dream of playing for us and being started. Hopefully martial stays fit and we don't see him start again
It's sad because he seems to care but it's gotten beyond ridiculous now how a player of his quality keeps starting for us. I don't think he's even premier league level, he can't score, can't retain the ball, doesn't win headers, it's not a target man I really don't get what he brings to the team besides effort which is the bare minimum you expect from professional players.

At this point even the 'he's the only striker we have' excuse doesn't wash, simply because it doesn't matter who we put in that position, they literally cannot be worse than him. What's the point? We could have saved some money by playing Elanga there. He can also run around and press players if we ask him to.

We`ve all seen our fair share of below average players at our club. Gibson, Buttner, Powell, Bebe, Obertan and many more.
But as far as trusted starting players go, it is hard to come up with anyone else tbh. There is probably a few posters on here that could play instead of him today without us losing much.
I really wanted this to work. Even on a "bit of a naff player but does a job and works hard" kind of level - but it just isn't going to unfortunately. Can't run. Can't head the ball. No particular physicality for a bloke who's fecking massive. Can maybe do simple short pass link up play, but can't hold the ball up long enough to even get the chance to do that.

as he looks quite spent, and to begin with he doesn't offer much more than enthusiasm and the ability to press (whether or not he presses effectively is a different matter. I'm not that impressed but I'll leave it to Erik).
I hope he's not going to get a permanent deal.
Wonder what's Erik's rationale behind keeping him in the starting XI, as he surely sees that our attack is nonexistent and he's the focal point of it.

but rather "improve the shape of the team" or whatever the fanciest way to put it is.

Falcao was just washed up but you could see his ideas even if they didn't come off. Similar to Ronaldo before we binned him off, you could see what he's trying but his body wouldn't let it happen anymore. This fecking clown doesn't even have good ideas, that near post shot from that angle was just daft not to mention the execution terrible anyways.
