Would you take Ralf Rangnick as manager?

This fecking guy. Always linking himself with the biggest job, noone is actually interested. Milan, Arsenal, Germany NT, Tottenham, now Man United. He's always claiming to be in the running, begging to be hired. Not even Schalke and Frankfurt wanted to put up with his constant leaking of alleged negotiations. Pathetic, cringey, delusional, that's Rangnick for you.
Agree but in-between he plays some decent football. But not to piss on anyone's parade Ralf wouldn't just come here for the scene and the night life, he would be the whole friggin tour.

Bruno, Beek, McFred, Lingard, etc have the abilities to press bro, but they don't know how to press properly. United players need a coach to teach them how to play in a real tactical system. For the last 3 years, all of them are played freestyle football and we got points because of individual brilliance. Rangnick is a very experienced coach and if he agrees to join the club then sure he has the plan to do it. No worries.

We have a few capable of gegenpressing but not enough. Our forward line aren't cut out for it and if we play a high line with the defenders we've got more often than not they'll get exposed. We'd burn those few players into the ground playing with such high intensity every week. I'd be more open to someone like Rangnick if it's a longer term appointment - I don't think he's a good match for us as a quick fix for half a season.

Hard to say as we haven't asked many of them to press. There's no reason you can't have Bruno, Greenwood, Rashford, Sancho pressing behind Ronaldo who just cuts the lines off.

There's plenty of clubs who have had pressing managers come in and change their players style.

I remember when Ole first took over we had all these injuries as a result of the apparent pressing style he was asking of them. The Liverpool game that season we finished the game without about 3 players who were able to stand.

Whatever happened to that?

Nope

Is he even a manager anymore?
Mostly he is building his own legend by creating rumuors that big clubs want to sign him in the last few years. I don't think he can be convinced to "just manage" at this point, he would want full control and then sign a manager who does the daily work like he wants it.

Hiring him would probably mean you have to fire at least Ole and his coaches as well as Murtough and Fletcher. At least.

I don't see it. He'd need time and to be backed in the transfer market. It makes more sense to get a stopgap manager in who can manage to the squad's strengths and get results fast.

Yeah exactly, it went by the wayside because we don't have the players for it.

There's more to pressing than just running a lot. If everybody is positioned correctly then it's intense but fairly short bursts of energy, not the running around everywhere like headless chickens which seemed to be our system.

Ronaldo, Martial, Pogba and Matic probably aren't suitable (Ronaldo is likely the only one who will still be in the team next season). Maybe Maguire as well. The rest of the players are either very suited or should be able to learn how to get to a decent level. There will be a bedding in period where we might pick up a few more injuries than normal (if I remember correctly Liverpool had quite a few injuries for the first 18 months after Klopp came in), but in the long term we'll then be in a much stronger place as long as we continue working towards that instead of giving up on it as soon as it becomes difficult.

A plan with no drawbacks!

I was routing Ralph before we took on Ole.

He is a guy who has worked at most levels in football and would have been invaluable for the owners and even Ed in terms of putting together a strategy.

I'm not sure he would have been the manager to lead us to the trophies but as an interim tyo he would certainly get us back on track.

You are over selling it. We are already on board.

Forgive me, his Hannover team was the reason I became a football fan, and obviously a fan of that club, for me he is special because of that.

At this point, I'd take anyone with any footballing pedigree. This squad needs a "reset" button ASAP.

I’d take him, but I thought he Was retiring, that’s why he left RB Leipzig?

interim, surely.

If Ten Hag and Zidane are out, I’d alsobe interested in:

Christophe Galtier
Gasperini
Unai Emery
Joachim Low
Nico Kovac
Sarri
Absolutely not to the bottom 4.

Everyone changes manager with bad results, only our is like crowned, leave when dead..

Independent were saying that the problem with Rangnick is that it would deter Poch from joining, because he wouldn't be interested in working under that structure.

Well just as well we could do better than Poch, sadly our board seem to have a hardon for him.

If I were Newcastle's owners I would go all out to hire this guy as the DOF. He has the experience of using money well.

Poch can feck off than. Rangnick is a far better DOF than Poch will ever be as a manager.

Niether ole nor his coaches have any business being employed by a big club, any of them being sacked would a good thing for us. Same goes for murtough and fletcher, neither of them seem to have any expereince or understanding of what they are supposed to do, they can either work under someone who actually knows what they are supposed to do or they can leave as well, lets see who hires either in similar position as at utd.

This guy is good for both the long and short term.

1. He’s available now.
2. He’s a tactical genius who invented the German gegenpressing style of football.
3. He’s very successful as a DOF in RB Leipzig who can balance football and finance. Pretty sure he has the vision for our club in the next 10 years. Even after he finished his interim job, he can help us appoint the new manager of this club like Ten Hag or Hasenhuttl,...

Our club is out of style since Sir Alex’s retirement. We hired many coaches but still couldn't find our own ways like City or Liverpool. His vision will rebuild this club, help us back to the title race and fight for titles in the next 10 years.

He would at least give us some kind of pressing style and yes I know he wouldn't get it from Ronny

Think the bigger problem would be the board being too spineless to demote or move Murtough and Fletcher.

That would be a similar move to City signing those dudes from Barcelona. Which, to be fair, was excellent planning.
