Would you take Ralf Rangnick as manager?

I don't really know anything about him but I recognise his name.

That's enough to say yes at this point.

Isn’t he the manager that basically invented “Geggenpressing”?
If you called his agent, he would tell you that, along with claiming that all of Arsenal, Milan, Juve, Kaiserslautern, Real and Man United dream of hiring him.
In reality, he hasn't invented anything.

If they absolutely can't get Ten Hag, I say bring this guy in. At the very least, it would give us fans some satisfaction if he makes Maguire wear a ballerina tutu or tells Pogba he has to work in the club shop.

Did he steal a lollipop from you?

Too radical, not to mention he's a hard character to work with for conformists like Glazers & the board.

Maybe.

Nah, it's just, this kind of "Rangnick is interested in ..." headline is a sentence his agent has leaked to journos constantly over the last years. He even made a public statement how he generously refrains from taking the Milan job because Pioli is doing fine. It's just, as I said, embarrassing and cringey.

Add to that the absurdist sagas with the Schalke and Frankfurt sporting CEO jobs, the picture emerging is one of a narcissism and loss of reality.

Until May? Yeah, sure. Why not?

I don't know enough about Ragnick to say if he'd be a good fit for the current squad. But his credentials seem decent enough.

However, this shouldn't take our eye off our number 1 target in the summer (whether that's ETH or Poch or somebody else).

I think we could have Rangnick and Hasenhüttl in as DoF and manager by the end of next week.

I don't know much about him, if he is good then great but why panic to wrap him up just because Ole will hopefully go soon. I'd say get a care taker in for a bit, and find someone who can actually coach a team and is not full of propaganda. Ten Haag is the one for me and I'd be prepared to wait until the summer for him.

722 games as a manager with a win % of 47.8%.

Ole, has 422 games as manager with a 53.3% win rate.

So, yeah, maybe a bit knee jerk.

If you think that both Giovanni Trapattoni (~51%) and Arrigo Sacchi (~48%) have distinctly lower career win percentages than Solskjaer, it kind of gives perspective on just what a historically great manager he is.

Thank you for this incredible insight. Jurgen Klopp has 52.83% winning percentage, and you have just proven that he is worse manager than Ole.

I’d take him, but I thought he Was retiring, that’s why he left RB Leipzig?

interim, surely.

If Ten Hag and Zidane are out, I’d alsobe interested in:

Christophe Galtier
Gasperini
Unai Emery
Joachim Low
Nico Kovac
Sarri

And thank you for your incredible passive aggression.

But let's look at that in context, Klopp had a 56% win rate with Dortmund, had won 2 league titles and got to a CL final with them, and was 48. He was the definition of a manager ready for a step up to a new level.

Rangnick hasn't been a manager for 2 years, has never won anything and is 63 years of age.

Given that he's not been, nor shown any interest in, being a day to day manager of any team for 2 and half years, what makes you think he's a good choice?

What makes you say that?
Hasenhüttl has constantly had his side striped down during the transfer windows, offer him the United job and he’d jump ship. I’m assuming the compensation fee would be in the region of 10m.

Rangnick seems like he is interested in moving going by the reports.

They both deploy a similar philosophy and would provide direction for our club. Hasenhüttl knows the league and has overachieved for a couple of seasons now.

I'm always amazed at how Hasenhuttl isn't regarded as a top manager by people. He has a good style of play and i think could work well with better players. That said i don't watch enough of Soton so i may be cherry picking the odd game vs a top side where they show good organisation and play

Ralph Hussenhutl, Tuchel and klopp all attended the same 1 yr coaching academy that's by invitation only and their work speaks for itself. I'm quite surprised United don't seem to know this but instead fumbling around with names like Poch etc.

Rangnick interim then Ten Hag in the summer while he moves into the DoF role sounds good.

Woody won't know who the hell he is
That's the case with Woody on this sport in general.

The leech American owners thought it was a good idea to have accountant and mediocre banker to hire and fire managers and have control over the transfers and player contracts.

He is a perfect choice for both the long and short term.
This is the more perfect plan for the next 10 years.
Appoint him as an interim until the end of this season and then he will continue his job here as a DOF.
After that, we can appoint Ten Hag to be our coach for a very long term.

No. A German should never ever be manager of Manchester United.

Southampton have hardly been flying under Hassenhoddle.

I'd take him as an interim obviously but not permanent.

This could actually be the absolute perfect thing we need. Have him coach and manage for the rest of the season, with the plan to take complete control of footballing operations at the end of the season and hire a coach for next season.
