Would you take Pogba back?

Yes. He's a better talent then all our CMs bar Carrick.

IF he got rid of his agent for a more club friendly one, and actually proved he wanted to stay, knuckle down and play here for a long time, then sure.

He is a player at the end of the day, and rightly or wrongly moved to a different club and played many games last year - that part you cannot criticize.

His attitude though isn't the best, seems to have a big EGO which does not really fit here.

Don't see why Moyes wouldn't see him as a target if he became available. He's one of the hottest prospects around, if he became available again I'd imagine the managers of most big clubs would be interested at the very least.

Can't say I've got any personal grudge against him. He had to watch players play out of position keeping him out of the team at times and left to play football - which clearly has been a great move for him.

Yes, as he's a brilliant talent who looks like he'll become a top player. He may have a big ego, but the majority of young players do now with the level of exposure they get.

Not a fecking chance. As far as I can tell he's doing well for himself in Italy, but what an absolute bellend. Badmouthed the club while he was here, and even more since he left. Absolutely rotten attitude.

New topic, would anyone take Carlos Tevez back?

Yeah in a heartbeat.

He didn't want to play reserve team football it was a waste of time, he was well past that level. We had a massive hole in midfield and he still wasn't getting a look in, no doubt is agent is a massive cnut but you cant blame him for leaving.

I'd love to sit here and say I wouldn't because of how he acted, but I absolutely would. A potential star in a position we're weak in?

Now dont be a dick. Tevez is a grown man and held up a sign that said RIP Fergie. Pogba is an immature kid its not the same thing. I personally wouldnt take him back because of his immaturity and agent but I wondered if others would.

we should have played him more and he would have stayed, cnut agent or not. Important we don't make the same mistake with Januzaj

Pogba was right to leave. Its unbelievable that he wasn't given a first team run despite all the crap we have in CM.

Juventus are nearly as big as we are, with a stronger CM then ours and they still gave him more first team chances then we did.

I just dont think we were too bothered about him or Morrison.

If we really thought that either were special(and had the right attitude as well of course) we would have held on to them.

Sad thing is, he's already a star. The kid took the piss in Serie A last season.

I'm not trying to be a dick to you, so sorry if it came across that way. I'm saying that I see Pogba in a similar vein to Tevez, in that there's not a chance I'd take either of them back.

Obviously Tevez has mental deficiencies, but Pogba's far enough gone so that I'd never even entertain the idea of him coming back.

You cant compare Morrison with Pogba. The latter had proven to be a great professional with Juventus. We just never gave Pogba a real first team run.

yeah no worries mate

I wouldn't take him back no. I was as big a fan of him as there were, but he made his bed and he can lie in it as far as I'm concerned.

He would have been given proper chances this last season if he had waited. Had he applied himself properly with the reserves the season before I dare say he would have been given more chances then as well.

But I don't understand how people expected him to be thrown into the first team when he treated reserve matches like they were beneath him. He wasn't a star at the time and instead of proving his worth he sulked and ended up jumping ship.

Meh, I don't feel bitter anymore, he would have been great for us if he had the attitude of a certain Januzaj.

I'd say he's bothered anyway. Seems to have worked out ok for him, does it not?

I think a Pogba support group is needed, some people are really having issues letting go.

Didn't we include a Fabregas style buyback clause when we sold him then?

He left because his contract expired, he wasn't sold. By the looks of it Sir Alex was given bad advise about the validity of an extension clause in Pogba's contract meaning he thought we had an option to keep him for another season but because he signed the deal when he was under 18 this clause was not legal. We only received any compensation (only about £200k if I remember correctly) because he is under 23

Said it at the time - much as I'd like to have kept him, he's not actually the sort of midfielder we need. He plays very, very deep for Juventus, so he'd be in competition with Carrick (who's obviously going nowhere soon). I'd love to have him back as Carrick's back-up and eventual replacement, but not getting games is the exact reason he left.

Possibly he could play a more advanced, box-to-box role. But he's never really been an energetic runner. That's why Juve have had so much success playing him in the deep Pirlo role, because it's about passing quality not lots of movement. Again, that's the Carrick role, not the Cleverley role which we actually need someone for.

Would he have been given chances though? Juventus put a lot of faith in him last season by giving him a lot of game time and it paid off. When he left people here were saying that he'd thrown away a huge chance at United, but the fact is that he probably made a good move for his career because he wasn't getting a lot of time here.

I don't think it was because he simply didn't get playing time that he would've been unhappy; it was more that we moved players like Rafael and Park out of position and into the central midfield in games like that Blackburn one, and if he wasn't getting chances in those games then he would've questioned whether he would get enough chances or not. When he did get smaller chances in League Cup games he didn't show too much, but it's clear now that he's incredibly talented and probably should've got more playing time.

Still, I guess we can console ourselves in the fact that he's got an ego that's bigger than Anderson's food shopping list.

A lot of people need to move on.
This. Pogba has done well at Juventus, there's no doubt about that, but the way some people are talking about him you'd think he was world class. There's a dozen of other midfielders that are as good as him we could look at first.

I personally didn't really like the fact that he thought he was too good for the reserves (his performances in the reserve team in the last season frankly didn't warrant a promotion to the first team) and got tired of waiting at the age of 18. People can change though (and in Pogba's case a different agent might very well have resulted in a different career for him), so I don't see why he could be an option in the future if he was available and suited the team.
