Would you take Koeman?

At this point I'd probably take any manager in the world over Ole. The blind loyalty the club and some of the fanbase has towards his horrifies me and I legitimately think if he stays the season half our players will be asking to leave and the club will be setback 10 years.

I mean if we'll hire a guy that got relegated with Cardiff....

More to the point... will Conte, ten Hag, and any other potential new Utd manager now turn their sights in the direction of Barca? Our indecision regarding Pochettino (and blind faith in Ole) may have cost us dearly.

As Caretaker, sure. But with an announcement that we have an agreement with Ten Hag for next season.

no. what's lucky guus up to these days.
Retired a few weeks ago after doing the Curacao NT, then came out of retirement a few days ago. He doesn't want to be on the pitch every day but is open to offers.

I'd take him as interim if he could bring in his own coaches. Then again, I'd take nearly everyone over Ole, including Koeman.

As Austin Powers' father (Michael Caine) once stated:

"There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch."

It's amusing so many people laugh off the suggestion when Fergie described Koeman as the most gifted manager of his generation. At his last leadership talk at Harvard he said very few clubs are willing to implement the top down changes and complete vision that Koeman would want which is why he will struggle to succeed at the largest clubs - just as we've seen with Barcelona. He said his one regret was not bringing in Koeman as an assistant manager when he had the chance so he could take over with the full backing of the board. They even discussed how Old Trafford and all it's facilities would need modernising and expanding to keep ahead of the growing league with Koeman producing architectural prints to achieve this back in 2010.
Can I get a source for this? Something interesting to share with my fellas.

Is this thread serious?

Is the criteria for replacing Ole just any manager with experience, regardless of their catastrophic failures?

If we’re setting our sights so low and have become that desperate I’d rather we have someone with at least a couple of years experience managing at a top tier club like ours like erm… Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for example.

Clearly Koeman's misunderstood. He'd work wonders with our team. What were folk expecting him to do with the likes of Depay at Barca?! He's Dutch for FFS! He knows football.

Moyes: The chosen one
Van Gaal: The ***********
Mourinho: The special one
Ole: The successor
Koeman: The ***********'s successor

No way. He was good at Soton albeit with a decent amount of money to stand but terrible at Everton, why would we even look at him?

How can we do Steve Bruce as a caretaker? Not that I think he's not competent, but just think of the unbearable optics of that - appointing someone who pretty much every fan of one of the worst clubs in the PL has been yelling at for several seasons. Also, a caretaker shouldn't merely coax us through more or less safely to the end of the season. It should be someone who can start moving the team towards where we want it to go with a permanent hire, a bridge. And I don't think you can bring in a major name like Koeman in a role like that either.

Anyway, what's Carlos Queiroz doing these days?

I wonder if perhaps there's a too one-sided focus on finding the right Big Man, and if it might be a good solution to look at other ways of bridging the gap between OGS and his successor?

Ie, figure out a clear idea of how this team is going to play going forward (they may already have one, but results indicate they may need to reassess that), bring in 1 or 2 suitable quality assistants to start working towards that, find a new manager who fits the bill and leave Ole overseeing the lot until he's in place?

What if he miraculously convinced Depay, Fati and Benzema to join in Jan? You'd love it. How could you possibly not want him knowing he'd bring those players to OT?

I'd take him if we couldn't get someone better, or Roy.

I'd love to have Roy at the helm. I'd even forgive a relegation battle just to see his post match interviews and the look of trepidation on the faces of the players going to the dressing room after an abject performance, Mo.

It's a pity he's not better although before Ole got this job, Roy had a better CV.
