And when you have 3 managers "failing" before him, where two are world class, then you got to wonder is it managers or players?

WERE world class is the key word.
Jose was well on the way down when we got him. And Van Gaal a good decade past his best.

We need to somehow find the next Klopp type. Much much easier said than done.

I don’t condone personal attacks either way. The personal attacks on the manager are all through out this thread.
What personal attacks? People calling him out for being a poor coach? That's not so much an attack, more an opinion bordering on fact.

People can debate without hiding like turtles when we win. There is a Anti-Solskjaer agenda here from many. No needing to deny that. Today wasn't good performence but we have to not go overboard.

What do the current set of players have to do with Moyes or LVG? There is hardly anyone left even from LVG’s days. Even since Mourinho, we have bought four first team players in Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Bruno and DVB and promoted another in Greenwood.

There have been positives under Ole and he can certainly pull some impressive performances out of the bag (PSG this season was excellent) but I struggle to see what his advocates see if they genuinely believe he has the calibre to deliver major trophies.

Very biased view. I thought it was cnutish behaviour but each to their own. Where's the personal attacks on the manager by the way?

Seems your defending one side here out of pure bias.

True. There have probably been two or three “personal attacks” on Ole but it’s hardly been a trend or even a sizeable minority. Just another reach that people use again when they run out of arguments again!

I just want to say, without having a scrap with anyone in particular, that Ole is not a coward as some offensively accuse.

He’s trying to win the games the best way he can with the players we have. He makes mistakes and looks like he may be sacked soon but he is not a coward. He is also not tactically naive, clueless or out of his depth. He isn’t winning as many games as he needs to right now but if he does go, we should brace ourselves for more of the same regardless who is appointed. It’s not quite as easy a job as some seem to think.

And if someone dares point out issues in our wins, they literally pile on. And then they go all touchy-feely when they get it equally back.

Reminds me of a certain orange moron and his horde of followers across the ocean.

So true.

After the Newcastle game I pointed out we were sloppy and wasteful for most of the game until Ole changed it up with DvB and Pogba. I praised Ole for his in game changes but got the usual crew telling me we were awesome for 90 minutes. One even said it was one of Ole's best games. So yeah, trying to be honest and objective after a win will get you harassed by the usual suspects.

FFS mate, give it a rest and just enjoy the wi...

Oh.

Now was really a great time for United/Ole to have taken advantage of the unpredictable times in the league but nope we seem to be one of the main culprits in these times of inconsistencies.

World class managers? LVG wasn’t world class when he came to us and Mourinho came after ending a shocking run at Chelsea, anyone could see he needed time off before coming to us, and I don’t think he’s world class anymore.

I like Ole but he can’t get a consistent tune out of this team, he is not good enough to coach them to play better, more cohesively. Just reliant on individual displays. This will keep happening, one good result, 3/4 very average ones.
That is his main issue and with time he will found solution. That is why I always say and have said, managers need to be given time. Even if you would fire Solskjaer, next manager would need to be given time and not be judged from game to game.

From the posts I see from you in here you totally appear to lack nuance and are very much entrenched in your views on him. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it comes across.
I ofte usually end up defending him. That is not that I don't think he is flawless. What I always say is give managers time.

Anti Solskjaer is nonsense, we all loved him as a player and still do. We just have to face up he's not up to the task of taking us to the next level. We could go on another run of winning 10 games on the bounce and many would say we're back when quite simply were not.

The board have to get into their thick heads Ole hasn't got what it takes.
That is what he needs to figure out. How we can be more consistent in our games.

Yeah sure we can hang around relegation while we wait for our manager to find a solution to something he hasn't worked out in over 2 years. Brilliant plan.
Well, that is not true. We have become better from the first day he took charge.

If i get my positive hat back on, I'm thinking Martial is now back, and he does make a huge difference. Probably no coincidence he was part of both of those Euro star shows.
Without him, you can't play the 3 pronged front approach at all well.
Be positive. World seems always better that way and you get less headache. There are things to fix and there are lot of job ahead for both players and staff, but we will get through this. I'm sure. Changing managers might always be good for a moment but you still have got to give whoever is in charge time. Time, time, time.

I’ve not changed my vote to “out” but I am no longer critical of those that are out voters and can understand it.

He got lots wrong today and showed some real naivety

Knockout football in the cups might be better suited to Ole and Co.

Managing a league campaign seems very random and uncertain as to what to do.

Something I touched on earlier. Some are obsessed with taking what the small extreme minority say, they then use it as consensus for the views of every poster on a particular 'side'.

An example is the tedious bollox of 'oh look the PE teacher won' after we won a game. Like who the feck even called him that? Maybe like two or three posters. But these banter brigade members love to reel it out as though everyone was using it.

“Not good enough, we work hard on the training ground and improve” - how many times have we heard that in a post match interview? Broken record.

I don't think the club can afford a decent/strong UCL run (QFs or semis) just to finish Top8-12 in the PL.

Ole out if he drops points next weekend; simple as that; it has to stop.

Ah man it's almost every other match. He said "we need to work on it" after:

Palace (fair play on this given pre season)
Brighton
Spurs
Arsenal

So 4 of the 6 league games we've played this season.

With that said, he can't really say much else to be fair. It's just the sentence is rapidly losing its value at this stage.

I usually use my twin support for Wycombe to do this. Telling myself I never worry too much about United being say 6th in the league (when it ends, not now!) and can't see it as the disaster most do. As my lot almost had an actual disaster when we almost went down to non league and bankruptcy!

However, it's all about expectations isn't it. There's loads for United.

No, I don’t want us to give him any more time he’s had plenty and showed be nothing to think he can find any consistency. If it wasn’t for Bruno coming in in Jan and saving our season he’d have been fired by now in my opinion.

He just doesn’t have it in him from what I’ve seen. I’ll credit him for upgrading the squad but let’s get someone in now who can benefit from it. Anyone with a bit of passion on the touch line for a start.

We have a under dogs mentality at this club. Very similar to like what we had in the 80s. Can play well once In a while when we are not expected to win. But bottlers when we have to take the game to teams.

Ole hasn't got it in his locker to make that difference. He relies too much on an individual moment to win games rather than having to play a system/strategy to win.

He has to take the full blame for today's loss. It seems he always brings his worst tactics when facing arsenal. Pathetic performance and attitude from everyone. No way can you win title like this.

I knew he’d say something along these lines, if Everton beat us next week he’ll have to go, but then we’ll only be stupid enough to get Giggs in.

Can you give him the next one, as it's Everton away next.

Ole's the manager form of Pogba. Average most of the time then goes on a good run or has an excellent game that makes us look like one of the best in Europe then go back to being average. Just saying but 4 years now and we are still waiting for Pogba to come good.

Honestly I just think the players we have are not good enough. Like Shaw and AWB are pretty average players who can't make the England squad. Actually Shaw is worse than average, one of the worst full backs in the league.

Fred and Mctominay are also very average players and no where near the level of Partey.

We have no wingers. You are relying on a 19 year old Greenwood on the right wing which you can't do at a club like United and a young Rashord on the left wing who is getting no support from Shaw whatsoever.

You have Martial playing Central striker who is clearly a winger and rashford playing left who is clearly a striker.

You can blame the manager all you want but the team isn't good enough.

This is so accurate.

It's not knee jerk no. Because I'm seeing the very same posters that wanted him gone, still wanting him gone. Knee jerk was the fecking title winning celebrations on here after a home win the CL group phase.

I thought they were knee jerk as well and i think i posted it in that thread. This game to game overreaction needs to stop

Its still early days, if top 4 becomes impossible he will be sacked and deservedly so, but until then i dont see the point of this

Statistics can be used to fit any argument. We aren't going to finish 18th. We've had a really tough start in the league, but results haven't been good enough. Ole now has no wiggle room and must win the easier games when they come.
What tough start? These are the expected results for our first 6 games.

Palace W
Brighton W
Spurs D/W
Newcastle W
Chelsea D
Arsenal D/W

14 points is the minimum we should've been achieving. 7 is a fecking joke.

Sack him now and we have the international break coming up.Just move him to different role and let him be part of our rebuild.

Just leave the coaching side to someone competent.

The problem is, the 'easier' games are where we normally struggled. Now we are losing the games we normally won under him so there's not much left to be optimistic about. I genuinely believe he's been found out in the league tactically.

I am Ole in but it was disappointing today I think if we wouldn’t get top4 by mid season it has to stop!!!

Feature of our play, long before Ole, is the pass to a player and either pass it right back or to someone further back. No cajones or skill to turn and face the oppo.

Tough start ? Really ? With the way Arsenal and Chelsea played, Crystal Palace and Brighton offered more threat than these guys.

Should have been a nice 12-14 points now.
