He deserves a lot of credit for how he's managed the whole Pogba situation, under Mourinho that situation would have gone nuclear a long time ago.

Despite my reservations about De Gea it makes me trust how he's managing that situation also.

Whilst some results might have been better, I think getting another manager wouldnt have changed much.
We still needed improvement in key positions and weve had that.

Oles set up against the bigger teams has mostly been spot on. The issue has been against the lesser teams and thats mainly down to the lack of creative players weve had. We didnt have Martial and Rashford together much post lockdown. Pogba we didnt have, and we had just bought Bruno.

With them all and the added factor of Mason, we know have two ways of playing. Counter when required due to the pace, and the incisive passing and tempo to break down teams who pack out their box.

Ole has done a good job so far in most aspects:
-He hasnt hung people out in public (even when they deserved it, because he knew that they would need to be used in the next games despite not being good enough).
-His signings on the whole have been really good.
-His integration of youth has been great. (I know some people will mention Gomes, but the limited chances he had he wasnt flying, and we dont know whats happening in training and the affect his contract has).
-His ingame management esp post lockdown has been great (aided by the 5 subs of course).
-Our fowards are improving with their movement / finishing which a previous manager said cant happen.
-Our squad is a good age now and we have people who want to be here (the squad and players are likeable now - been a while since we could say that)

Obviously the season hasnt ended and it could somehow turn into disaster, but given our momentum we will hopefully see this continue into next season. Ole deserves more credit than hes gotten and it seems he hasnt been getting (maybe before this) due to his status as a manager before joining us.

I will be honest I wanted Ole to succeed so much but after that Burnley game I thought he was a few days from the axe for sure. We looked like a Jose team.

Who knew how much of an impact Bruno would have had though. He's basically dragged everyone up 3 levels and I couldn't be happier to be proven wrong.

Not really. I can say he’s doing better now & team actually playing well now.

However on the other side you couldn’t admit we were shocking for a long period of time.

We're playing brilliantly, things are coming together and you're still in here giving out so you'll never be happy in my view.

As for objectivity, a truly objective view would have been that the results and performances prior to christmas were probably to be expected, given the personnel shipped out, young players coming through, along with injuries to key players.

However, resorting to claiming the manager is clueless and insulting other posters didn't display a huge amount of objectivity or intelligent analysis on your part.

You're exaggerating a period poor results to us being 'shocking' over a long period of time.

The reality is you might be able to pick out a couple of genuine poor performances, many results where we lacked creativity due to personnel and other games we lost/drew but deserved to win. It was never 'shocking'.

I am saying we’re playing brilliantly & I’m so glad he turned it around, as we’re great to watch now.

Still doesn’t take away the fact we’re still scrambling around for 4th due to the season as a whole not being that great.

Also I wish you gave LVG the same amount of patience that everyone gave Ole as he had one bad December & the knives were out.

LVG hahaha look at all the work that has had to be be done to undo LVGs time here. LVG was doing nothing that suggested he was worth sticking with

Fair enough on the first point and I'm glad to hear it.

Again, there are very good reasons why we're in 5th and most of those have been resolved by the manager.

Your analysis of LVG is exactly what I'm talking about though. You've absolutely shot yourself in the foot there. Months and months of tumescent, stale possession boring everyone to tears and you claim it's one bad month.

I realise I’m in the minority with regards to LVG but I honestly could see what he was trying to do with a possession focused game, we saw that when it worked well we dismantled & outplayed City & Liverpool.

A few signings that he wanted to go with & what he wanted to do & I’d have been interested to see the 3rd season. Anyway they saw Jose was available and went for it which I understood too at the time

Spurs saw it pan out, but didn't understand.

This pole should never have existed in the first place?? After awful tumescent performances & results for a consistent period of time? So you’re just Ole in no matter what, ok then. Proving that many on here just can’t look at the manager objectively
It wasn’t “no matter what” for most of us. We saw the signs, we saw what he was trying to do and we saw the beginning of a process.

You either didn’t see any of that or chose to focus solely on performances or results.

That’s completely on you. You can’t be upset that people are now calling you out on it as I did months ago.

The team we had was toxic and needed major surgery, you thought it could just be fixed by appointing a Pochettino or Klopp, despite the fact it took them 5 years to sort their shit out at respective clubs and Pochettino still won nothing!

He definitely had his philosophy but it wasn't for me and I don't believe his brand of football would have taken us any further.

It was the prioritisation of keeping possession at all costs, even to the point of stifling of individuals' creative instincts I couldn't cope with.

It’s a no brainer right now....I always wanted him to be given time even though deep down inside me,I still had/have some reservations about him...But right now his future isn’t even up for debate....

That’s fair enough, I thought we actually were playing really really well up until the Leicester game where Vardy cheated for a pen & after that he went more defensive.

Ive never been 100% Ole out ive been on the fence for most if it but now I stand firmly on the side of keep and back Ole we now have proof if he has the right players hes a great manager. Dont forget hes learned from Fergie and being a striker will be naturally attack minded. I think a pundit summed it best forgot who said it but quote was we are now seeing how Ole is because he has the right tools for the job if the Glazers and Woodward back him we will be title condenders in the next 2-3 years

That’s fair enough, I thought we actually were playing really really well up until the Leicester game where Vardy cheated for a pen & after that he went more defensive.

It was literally two games (4-0 over a terrible QPR after we made several signings and that 3-5 defeat at Leicester), So I don't think we could have taken that much from those matches.

I think this is as far as Ole can take us. I mean yeah he’s improved the playstyle and culture of the club but his biggest club before this was Cardiff and I can’t see him bringing us our first title.

We might be setting records now and developing youth with top 4 in our hands and a chance at top 3 but surely Liverpool and City with their world class managers have the upper hand and always will as long as he’s in charge.

Surely it’s best now to quite while we’re ahead on this and look to replace him with a proven winner while the club is really attractive to players and top managers. Otherwise we could see all of this fall apart due to inexperienced management.

It’ll be hard for many to swallow but it’s the right thing. #Oleoutwhilewehavetheupperhand

I wouldn't worry about Ole's "the lack of pattern of play" when we are scoring for fun right now. The last game i remembered us playing with clear pattern was vs Fulham where we drew 2-2. I had to take a tumor marker test the next day.

Ole has a super record against them playing teams with no Bruno. Your point is simply shite.

I heard Jose would be available soon.

A proven winner you say? Someone like Mourinho could be up to the job i suppose. I think Ole can earn a stay of execution if we win the 2 cups and get top 3. We can always sack him next year if he fails to win the quadruple.

It’s not shite though. Very rude!

Maybe this is peak Ole and we should appreciate it for what it is. A great moment but can he really win us the next PL or is he just steadying the ship?

He’s laid the foundations, got us playing attractive attacking football and is developing young players well but does he have that serial winner in him like Fergie, Mourinho and Pep.

If Jose did leave Spurs he’d finally have the players he wanted ready to go. And we could probably pick up Willian to help tick over RW if Sancho fell through.

We could win the treble next season and some people will still be trying to argue that they were absolutely correct in demanding Ole's head because he

But we won’t with Ole. He won’t manage us to the next treble, so we need to find the manager who will someone like Jose who is a proven winner. Sure he’s had a blip at Chelsea, United and Spurs and played more negatively but that’s not his fault he just didn’t have the players or backing to do what he wanted.

I think let him leave on a high 3rd place,
FA Cup and Europa and let him leave having done an ok job.

Are you wumming? Willian as backup for Sancho comment makes me think so.

What makes you so certain that this is as high as he can go? There is zero evidence for this.

Ole's at the wheel, let's enjoy the ride.

Why won't Ole win the title with us? Your entire logic seems based only around the idea that he hasn't done so before, therefore he can't do it in the future. Can managers not improve with time like players do?

he took 8 points out of 12 against them and took Guardiola to school at the emptyhad. His early season shortcomings were absolutely not due to how he faired against the better sides in the league

I’m just saying if Sancho fell through we could do worse than Willian. Would let Greenwood develop without stopping him from playing regular.

He’s just not the same class as Pep and Mourinho. Sure Mourinho has been struggling at Spurs but he’s not been backed And at United he wasn’t backed in his last season either. He got us 2nd place with a crap squad and Ole with a far better one is not even guaranteed top 4.

Give Mourinho Bruno, Sancho, Maguire, AWB and we’d win the league.

Your not in the minority- even the footballers like Giggs and Rooney said what you said about the third season under LVG and how at the end of the 2nd season they had just started to understand what his tactics were and how to implement them as a team, that him being even a more tactical manager than SAF in their eyes wouldn't exactly be easy to implement in a team. Unfortunately it was too late - as to many the damage had already been done or it was too boring or unsuccessful.

Anyway, let's not talk about LVG here, hes like putting salt water on a wound, curing for some and painful for others.

He’s never won the PL before as a manager and other than improving our youth, play style and winning consistently after lockdown what has he really shown?

They can improve but surely we are the club that needs a finished article manager now. Not someone learning on the job. This isn’t an internship or work experience we need a world class manager like Mourinho.

Did he though? I mean we countered we’ll but hardly dominated.

Just because your best creative midfielder, striker and winger were injured a lot of the time doesn’t mean you can just excuse him not winning more. Fergie won the league with Cleverly and Anderson.

You do realize that Mou was one of the main reasons why the squad became crap? Players he bought? Players he sidelined which are now our main contributors?

Do you even see how Tottenham are playing these days? They are a laughing stock.

We now look the most positive that we have since Fergie retired. Football is fun to watch again.

Was he though? He got us our highest placed finish and then wasn’t backed. It was clear to see Martial needed benching for his development and Sanchez was a gamble that just didn’t pay off but everyone here was delighted when he signed.

Of course Ole will play attractive attacking football because he’s bought some great players and been backed. Give Mourinho Maguire, AWB and Bruno and he’d win us a title. Add Sancho and you’d be looking at more.

Spurs problem is the style of players they’ve signed not Mourinhos fault. Anyone would struggle to play attacking football with Kane and Son.

I agree we look good now so while we’re ahead we should trust a world class a manager like Mourinho to get us over the line. Ole’s only improved our play style, youth, culture and enjoyment of football but he won’t improve what matters which is the trophy cabinet.

I genuinely can't tell if you're trolling but I'll bite. What is it about a free scoring 16 game unbeaten run that doesn't look like a title winning side?

If anything, I'd back Ole to be an old school, tough, we-must-always-win types than a new manager who's in fashion like Rose or whoever. He has some flaws that are being papered over tactically but I wouldn't question his ability to get the team to play for him.

If you are actually wumming I'll give you slight creds, you got my blood boiling for a bit.

The worst take I've seen in a while and no before you ask I'm not going to debate the merits of your position.

Others have done that and I'm not going to take this seriously. It's ludicrous to suggest we get rid of a manager who's doing well, in case maybe it might fall apart at some point.

Ahhhhh you fecker.... two hours left in ''the office' (otherwise known as my spare room) before I can do that.

Enjoy!

The minute you question Ole everyone thinks you’re winding them up. Wake up sheeple!

16 goals free scoring against the worst sides in the league. It’s not like we’re beating Chelsea or whoever 4-0 get a grip!

We’re not even 4th place so we’re definitely not anywhere near title winning form.

The team is playing attractive attacking football, we’re developing youth, it’s good to watch and the culture is better but he’s not going to get us the PL. You need a world class manger like Mourinho to do it. Ole cant get the better of Pep and Klopp.

This is as good as it gets now hand the wheel over to someone who knows how to win.
