Their signings are not exciting but they are sensible.
Cech has been in decline for a while, they signed Leno.
Mertesacker retired and Koscielny is crooked, they signed that CB from Dortmund.
They had no cover or competition for Bellerin, they signed Lichtsteiner.
They had no quality defensive midfielder, they are buying Torreira (who looks brilliant tbh).
Wenger would have just ignored all their problems and signed an attacker or two. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be very happy with their summer and United could do with taking a leaf out of their book in terms of signings players to fix problems instead of signing 'exciting' players because they happen to be available.
Leno is supposed to be error prone
Sokratis is good, not a world class CB, don't think he's a big improvement on what they have
Lichtsteiner could struggle in the PL, not the best of ages to move from Serie A to the PL
Torreira could be a great bit of business I must admit, but then again I'll wait before I pass any judgement on him, remember people going overboard about Xhaka.
Yeah they have made a few signings but are they really that much better? I don't think so
And the United should learn from them bit, well we have been linked with a LB, CB & RW in addition to the CM & RB we have already bought.Isnt that what's exactly missing from our squad?
Arsenal were able to buy 2/3 players no one actually wanted. We bought a young RB who was wanted by 8 clubs including Bayern, a CM who was a City target till Jan and are after the best CB in the PL and a top 5 LB in the world. So yeah, it's a bit harder to pull off than signing 3/4 average players.
On the other hand, would people be happy if we had bought Sokratis, Torriea and a old LB?
