Wot, no transfers?

Not liking the shit up front.
Apollo can sure run but his crosses are rubbish, may as well be aiming for the moon.
Not sure about Tag Heur as the false striker. The timing of his runs is awful.
Chivas runs like a drunken knob head so I'm not sure what service we will get down the left. Problem of our season. No width.
DHL couldn't deliver a forward pass if his life depended on it. Aimless and many lost passes.
Gulf looks like he is out of gas. Signed him too late. Short-termism players like this won't help the cause now.
Columbia looks the part, but for whatever reason, can't cement the LB as his own.
Chevrolet still struggling with that eye problem, after going temporarily blind seeing a bright gold light. Not sure we can rely on him now.
AON does a lot of orchestrating at the back. Probably one of our better players. Too risk averse though.
Aeroflot can fly down the wing all day but like Apollo, his crosses don't reach the right destination.
Adidas is our only world class player, even though some people in Spain think Nike is better. Pfft.

All in all, not a laughing matter. We are in for a very long season my friend.

Agreed. If we don't bring in anyone he's basically been told to work miracles. How are we supposed to win the Champions League this season with the current team?

Indeed. We're supoose to be the biggest, richest club in the world. Fergie built us into a monster club and its being wasted.

Not even prime 2005 Mourinho could win the league or CL with what he's been given since he joined us.

Err anything happening with us then on transfers? Been away for few hours.

Forgot about the foreign TV deal. The domestic pool is still going to be divided evenly. I still can't see the league allowing independent deals. The votes aren't there.

Yeah sorry I got mixed up with that and this new foreign TV deal.

For all the moaning, this current squad certainly isn'good enough to win the CL, but it's a damn sight better than it looked at times last season, and it's up to Jose to do much better with what he's got, and for the players to actually perform to their full abilities.

If we sign a CB before the deadline, we'll still require everyone else to actually show up and deliver, which plenty weren't doing.

Honestly wouldn't care if we got someone or not if I didn't think everyone (Mourinho included) would moan about it for the entire season.

Right wing and left back ffs. The two positions we need to sign a starting 11 player the most and were not even linked with anyone.

It's not as though we're waiting for the summer window...

Said it last season and will say it forever. I didn't expect us to win the league last season. But that squad is better than the 19 point difference last season. We finished on 81 points with an attack that didn't show up for 2/3rd of the season and our most talented player was widely inconsistent.
Our squad is not total rubbish. No one will convince me of otherwise.

I disagree with your assessment. The root of the issues in our club right now lies within the board and the Glazers.

They are satisfied with a champions league spot because they view on the situation is (to paraphrase Ed) that they dont actually need to win things to make money and this is reflected in our transfer dealings this season.

I agree that the board and the Glazers are the root of the problem, but I disagree that it's because they won't splash the cash for Mourinho's targets. The board has been all too happy to let managers hang themselves with poor results instead of letting them go when the situation was clearly beyond saving (Moyes stuck around too long, and LVG was a goner long before we won the FA Cup).

So, if we're talking about a lack of ambition in their managerial hirings, I'm right there with you. But to say that this transfer window somehow shows that the board is happy with how things stand is just, in my opinion, wrong. Unless we were to sign someone like Varane or Ramos for our CB, and Bale or Mbappe for our RW, I don't see how another addition this summer is going to push us into contention for the title or the CL. It's not that the board has always done a great job, but I just don't believe that refusing to pay over the odds on players who aren't guaranteed to kick us up a notch shows a lack of ambition from the leadership.

I’d speculate that players would perhaps want to play under ‘prime 2005 Mourinho’ when he was perceived to be a little less jaded and toxic. Then the resource and the pull of the club would matter...

We're competing against a City team that has little to no weaknesses, and we're trying to do it with forwards like Mata, Rashford and Lingard who aren't even as good as City's back up options.

It's madness. We need to seriously strengthen our team or we're going nowhere next season.

One of the reason’s that the PL is so good I’d that it’s competitive, and collective rights are imperative for this. I think even Utd have come out on the last and said how important it is. We don’t want a league like Scotland, or Spain where only 2 clubs can win the league.

Yeah we're not signing someone. It's going to be a hard slog until January. Think we'll have to look for reinforcements at that stage.

Im ok if we spend 65 quid on Maguire, id maybe push the boat out to £100 otherwise we should wait for Alderweireld.

£100m GBP for Harry Fecking Maguire, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..... sorry just fell off my chair....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Edit: you did me there, i also missed the omission of the m after the £100. £100 probably seems about right. As you were :nervous:

Capable of much better certainly. Capable of putting in a season like City just did? Nah

That's going to be the main factor, if City perform even close to last season then we won't be within 10pts.

:lol:Nearly have our Back 8 sorted then

DDG
Back 8
Pogba
LUKAKU
Sorted.

If we get all four we can finally have:
De Gea
Alderweireld - Boateng - Baily - Smalling - Rojo
Maguire - Lindelof
Jones
Mina Lukaku

:lol::drool:

I think we're keeping them all within reach so that we can get at least one, probably by paying over the odds tomorrow. I wish they meant something more exciting but I can't see it being more than that.

How come our transfers are always the most complicated?!

All that you hear from many teams is: So and So just signed this player .

Liverpool signed 6 and spent 177 million and they already played the players in matches.

We have 5 players who didn't even start one match - i wonder what our line-up will be next Friday!! :(

The element of surprise.

They're only complicated because you spend hours on RedCafe refreshing the Twitter thread.

It's the same everywhere. In the end, despite many proclamations that deals are done, they don't happen (see Jorginho at City as a recent example).
