World Snooker Championship 2011

10-7 to Trump at the end of the first day. Surprisingly, it seemed Higgins was more affected by nerves. He took some frames from behind after Trump's breaks ended, but also dropped a few when he was first in on the reds, and ended up missing some easy shots.

A few people here are laughing about Trump's international playboi crap, but he's just a kid, who cares about that. The important thing is he's a superb player. When O'Sullivan says "Never seen anyone pot so well... Scary!!!" and Steve Davis tweets "I never thought I'd witness a player more exciting than Ronnie O but .... Welcome to Trumpton!", that speaks volumes. He's going for pots others do not dare, and makes them. He'll be super for the game if he continues like that. And he can call himself Hugh Hefner as far as I am concerned.

Well said, he's cocky but its great.. he backs it up on the table and as he matures, the silly stuff like that'll dissappear but hopefully his confidence on the table will remain.

Phenomenal talent.

i played trump in a junior snooker torny at aged 14, he beat me, but was a nob back then to.

Seemed to me his manager was the one who got him in all the trouble. And yeh, I hope that's true. Don't you hope it's true? I will always try and believe that someone made a legitimate mistake before labelling them a cheat, unless the evidence is overwhelming, which in this case, I don't think it is.

I always hope that its not the case when I hear about a top sportsman bringing his profession into the ultimate disrepute

However, we've all seen the filmed evidence, his excuse is that he was playing along, yet he didn't report it to the authorities. The inquest simply bought his word, and 'punished' him for not reporting it, and took into account his previous character. I think the evidence is too overwhelming for that to be considered a robust defence, and I think the decision was a sham

It was a complete sham. They simply did not want to band snooker's number 1 player. The evidence against him was indisputable.

I've only just seen the video evidence - what a joke. They even haggle with them to try and get more money. Higgins sits there relaxed as anything, suggesting ways to launder the money. What more evidence did they need?

And Higgins has missed, that's another 300grand in the bank for the Fraud of Wishaw.

Good recovery from Trump, shouldn't have been let back in this frame.

Higgins looking for the snookers now, not conceding.

Won the frame but potted the white. Stop blasting the ball, asshole.
