World Snooker Championship 2011

The Juddernaut is awesome to watch but I'm hoping the Higgins matchup isn't one encounter too far.. he hasn't faced anyone in the class of Higgins/Ronnie/Williams since he's won the China Open and he could be in for a rude awakening. This year's Championship has been scintiliating.

Can't believe Williams bottled it against Higgins again. He was giving Higgins a beasting at one point, not giving him a sniff and clearing up in single visits on the back of his superb safety. What happened?

That black he missed to take it to a decider was schoolboy stuff.

As for the final, Higgins' experience to edge out the natural talent of Judd IMO.

judd trump is a wanker
higgins i will never forgive, but i think he will win.

judd cant keep the potting him, noone can.

I googled Judd Trump yesterday to double check how old he is and saw a link to his twitter page.

He describes himself as "part time snooker player, full time international playboi!!"

What a goon.

What's even more disgraceful for me than Higgins is the fact that the snooker world has been so quicky to forget the whole episode in an attempt to protect the sport. It suggests to me that an awful lot of that goes on and he was just the unfortunate one who got caught.

Completely agree.

Didn't that Australian lad Hann get a lifetime ban for something similar? No way they were going to give snooker's best player much of a ban though. Disgraceful really.

Virgo just exploded in his own ejaculation

How can anyone from Bristol cause such a reaction!

I'm 100% behind him, Higgins winning after everything would be a travesty for the game to be honest

Yet they still banned him for 6 months , Strange

6 months was for not reporting what had happened

"Mr Clancy SC on his behalf reminded me of his client’s exemplary record both in terms of achievement and conduct, and of his role as an ambassador for the sport. I very much bear these matters in mind"

This came at the expense of the video evidence, and the clear lack of reporting to the authorities. I can buy the play along thing, but only if he makes it known immediately. As if anyone clean there would not report that as soon as they were back on 'safe' soil. Complete outrage he's still allowed to compete for me

What left me in no doubt that he was attempting to fix frames was when they suggested a way of paying him and he disagreed and suggested another, alternative method of payment that suited him better. If you fear for your life you don't prolong the conversation and suggest alternative means of taking payment for something you were never apparently going to do anyway.

I won't ever see him as anything other than a cheat.

It's a complete joke - he's bent as arseholes caught on camera and still playing.

The duration and the timing of the suspension was comical really. Six months covering the snooker off-season and neatly sandwiched between the Worlds and the UK Championships. It's the equivalent of banning a football player between the end of May and start of August.

I got to realise everytime Higgins is cueing he's got that wierd eyebrow thing going. Rather funny that.

Or Tiger Woods taking time off between the last Major of 2009 and the first of 2010... :smirk:

What? Would love to know. Anything more concrete than blind hope?

Seemed to me his manager was the one who got him in all the trouble. And yeh, I hope that's true. Don't you hope it's true? I will always try and believe that someone made a legitimate mistake before labelling them a cheat, unless the evidence is overwhelming, which in this case, I don't think it is.

There is no evidence whatsoever to support Higgins' defence. Not one shred.

You have a curious sense of having to prove offences, or what burden of proof has to be satisfied, but as an analogy, if you film someone killing someone and they claim (a few days later) self-defence, despite the recording not showing any reason for them holding that belief then you will struggle to give their defence credence. Fortunately for Higgins he was a model pro beforehand which made selling his 'innocence' easier.
