World Snooker Championship 2011

Gonna try and watch a bit more of this year than i have done in the last few years. Higgins is probably the one to beat. Ronnie doesnt seem to be in the right frame of mind and asked to not be entered in it earlier in the week. Ali Carter has a pretty good draw. I've put a couple of pound on him to play Higgins in the final.

Just made a cracking break, leading 3-2.

How much you put on him to win?

I havent placed a bet, I was going to have a fiver on him yesterday at 33s but never got around to it. Just the small matter of defeating the champion first!

Trump was unlucky in that frame, really ought to have potted that black. Though Robertson did very well to clear the table.

6-6 as it stands.

Trump should win it from here really, in amongst the balls and with a ever more handy lead

EDIT
And he does win it, Robertson is out

Some flashes of genius from O'Sullivan, made his 100th century break at the crucible today as well

Wonderful player - it's just brilliant to watch him. The fact that other pros come and watch his matches says it all. If anyone tells me snooker is boring, I just mention the Rocket as the simple argument for which they're talking rubbish.

Fu vs Gould is turning into a good game

Gould won five in a row to turn a 6-3 deficit into an 8-6 lead, but Fu has pulled one back and looks set to level at 8-8 as he has a 50pts lead and is in and around the black spot

EDIT
And Gould take it 10-8

Very tasty looking quarter-final lineup, new talent like Trump breaking through, resurgence of Williams/Rocket/Higgins and the form of Selby have definitely given this tournament a lift.

Would like to see a Selby v Trump & Ronnie v Williams - semi final lineup. Also please stay another season Hendry, snooker ain't the same without him!

Higgins is on the verge of knocking Ronnie out. 12-9 up though Ronnie's at the table. Higgins has been brilliant this evening. Seems to score heavily every time he gets a half chance.

Higgins was just too good, immense long potting and just seemed to always have the gears in hand to up his game when he needed to. Ding has outplayed Selby at the moment, but I'm hoping the Jester from Leicester fights his way through.

So what, this thread died the moment O'Sullivan was knocked out?

Trump just beat Ding 17-15 to qualify to the final. Opponent to be decided tonight, with Higgins leading Williams 13-11 after being 5-9 down.

some fookin great games in this years tournament. I was surprised ding was beaten by trump. Although gotta give it to trump hes played some beautiful snooker the last few days stunning for a young lad. Looking forward to getting the rest of higgins and williams in now

Higgins takes the match, that was a proper bottle job from Williams in the final frame.

Still, second match in a row Higgins comes from behind. Gonna be hard for Trump against his experience but here's hoping for a surprise. He's done brilliantly just to get here. Very exciting player.
