World Chess Championship: Anand vs Carlsen II

Anand would be more positive going with 3 white games now.I got a feeling that this would get tired at end of 12 rounds.

Anand refuted Carlsen's prep, and Carlsen decided to save his energy because he is or has been a little unwell. That's my theory, at least.

I have a better theory, the Berlin is the worst opening in chess. Disappointed Anand went for it again.

This is the kind of games I expected when Carlsen edges in front in the match. Anand will eventually push too hard and lose another game.

Anand will only try in game 12 now. I expect him to overpush and Carlsen to win it.

It's a shame for Anand. He had a real shot this year. Carlsen will only get stronger.

I found a blog with a ranked list of WC blunders, which Chigorin deservedly tops. He was winning, which would have tied the match 9-9, and a two seconds later he had lost the match 10-8 after overlooking mate in two. The Alekhine - Euwe one is good too, with the players overlooking a simple winning tactic four times in a row.
Here are some more, Jan Gustafsson's top 10. Unfortunately it's a video.

Probably a draw, but this is a complex position where they are both pushing.

Never mind, Vishy has sacrificed the exchange for no reason whatsoever. This could be it.

Thanks. Really enjoyed this video.

Match over by the way. Congratulations to Carlsen. It's difficult to imagine who can dethrone him. Even when he's not at his best, he's still very solid and pretty much better than everybody else.

Yes it look over for vishy here.
I would say he played much better for his age.
Now its up to the other player, right Now I don't see any one good enough to challenge carlsen.

Nepomniachtshi, while commenting live on the official site (Game 11, from 20:05): "I try to avoid Berlin even in my preparation. It quickly brings me to some kind of depression." :D

I agree, that's exactly how it feels like now.

On the other hand, it's quite possible that at this moment, somewhere in the world, there's a 10 year old genius we know nothing about, growing up, developing his own, genuinely sharp, risky, colourful style of chess full of adventures, combinations and vivid piece-play - I guess you know the type. It's as if for every Capablanca, Botvinnik or Karpov, there's always an Alekhine, a Tal or a Kasparov waiting around the corner. And vice versa - things going in circles and all that...
