Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver

You're such a beautiful freak
You've got the face of a badger
You're not like all of the others

And that is why i love you
Beautiful freak, beautiful freak

Suck it, Richter. Bottlers the lot of 'em!

Awesome. Now to lose like hell against USA :D

Here's to Bjørndalen and/or Hegle Svendsen doing better in the mens 20 km

True. Sick going into a run that doesn't matter and pull a double mctwist, though. Show-off :D

Also, I'd like to apologise to the Swedes for the embarrassing comments made by Northug and Aune. Can't we all just get along?

What did they say? I'm in yankland where nobody gives a feck about anybody but yank athletes. Did you see what that dutch skater said to the stupid NBC cnut?

Hi Ruben,

I think the US and Sweden are pretty much tied as the third best team on paper with perhaps a small edge to Sweden. I think we have a very good team, maybe even on par with the Torino team, but the team is in a bit of a generational transition. It's the last cheer for some of the all-time Swedish hockey legends such as Lidström, Forsberg and Alfredsson and we have a bunch of really talented youngsters who were too young to make the team.

I really hope BÅG (the coach) changes some of the lines for the next game and actually goes with 2 not 3 Power play lines. It was so frustrating seeing Weinhandl getting more PP time than someone like Bäckström who is ten times the player he is.

Bronze would be a good tournament, getting to the final would be great and winning gold incredible.

Thanks IS.

I hear your 88 generation is supposed to be fantastic. I think a Swede told me that.

One of the noggies complained that those in the first semifinal heat could rest much longer. The two Russians were in the first heat. (So were those who finished fifth and sixth but Pettersen fell and Poltaranin was a bit of a surprise, wasn't he?) Bjørgen, who humbled her opinion in an almost similar fashion, was also in the first heat.

True, they did get to rest a bit longer. But that's not unusual in a sprint, there will always be a skiier or two not getting as much rest as the others.

But for the Russians to completely outski Northug from the beginning is surprising.

And as I said, they did pull their entire sprint team from a competition pre-Olympics for no good reason.

It is suspect.

And get in Tora Berger! Brought a tear to my eye actually. Gold medals to both Bjørgen and Berger - two unpretty women who really really deserve it.

Same here. It was like watching a little Down's kid get just what it wanted for xmas.

Shut up, Richter.

Northug and Vigen Hattestad knocked Emil Jönsson out in the sprint semis, and sprint coach Morten Aune said afterwards that "He (Jönsson) doesn't have the nerves for the Olympics" and Northug said "Time to retire" or something of the sort. Completely unnecessary, especially after being royally bummed by the russians in the final.

Didn't watch the skating. What did he say?

You have strange ways of paying tribute to our Norwegian champions, calling Bjørgen and Berger unpretty, and likening Berger to a kid with Down's syndrome.

How can you possibly start a post by asking someone to explain exactly what someone had said, before completely failing to explain what someone else said yourself?

So, what did he say? :D

Elliott has a little crush on Anja Pärson I think:D

I'd be a little crushed more like. Her face is kinda cute though but as Caveman so eloquently put it yesterday; she looks like a meatball

I thought you noggies liked whales;)

Hmm so who is posting in here so far, Swedes,Noggies and yanks?

My expectations are low for the men's Biathlon. I have had my hopes crushed a bit too much for my liking so far. Still can't get over Tora Berger. Fantastic.

And the meatball took a medal? What medal? What dicipline? Impressive after what happened yesterday.

But they didn't go any faster than they had already done that day, nor any faster than Northug had gone that day. Northug got distanced because he had a rather unspectacular race.

How does that make sense? If they were doped they obviously were doped for every race that day, not only the final. They went faster than they have ever done before, they were more endurant than they have ever been before.

It looks strange. Per Elofsson said the same thing, and I think the only reason why the Noggies aren't saying it is because there is nothing to do about it.

When the Russians pull their entire sprint team from a competition without any reason three or four weeks before a Olympics and suddenly become super fast in a classic sprint, I reserve the right to be suspicious.

Specially when considering that 5 other Russian crosscountry skiers have been caught for doping this year. And 5 biathloners as well of course.
