Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver

My prediction for tomorrow:

Men's Cross Country 4x10: Gold medal.

I think the Swedes should be favourites, and the Swiss, Russians and Germans will be tough too. But this is our thing, and I'll be heartbroken if we don't win it.

Medal count as per now

Country/ Gold/ Silver/ Bronze / Total

United States 7 9 10 26
Germany 7 9 7 23
Norway 6 5 6 17
Russia 3 4 6 13
Canada 6 4 1 11
Korea 5 4 1 10

Poland 0 3 1 4

I leave a couple of hours and that damn mexos pass me in the posting count:(

Total fail.

I just spent ten minutes "spacing" up all the numbers so they were aligned after eachother.

For some reason Redcafe.net decided to edit out that.

But, the heartbreak in it is that Kramer is young enough to become on of the mostwinning Skaters/Olympians of all time.

He won in Torino, should have won today. Will win in Russia in four years, and perhaps again in 8 years.

He is so extreme, and I also think he seems like a very likeable person.

Actually he didn't win anything in Turin (individual silver on the 5k and bronze on the team pursuit), so his 5k gold on the opening day was his first gold. Makes you feel even more sorry for him, especially as it was the coach who directed him in to the wrong lane.

I'm sure he'll be back and claim what's rightfully his four years from now though! And yeah, he really seems like a stand-up guy. Surprised he even took the time to be interviewed by Norwegian television so soon after the event.

Depends on who reports it and how high their country is under what criteria.

Ay but the IOC recognizes it by Golds, meaning the bonus' that go to Olympic committes worldwide is based on their output of gold medals, I didn't know this.

Also there's rumor that in Russia they will adopt a point system: 3 points for gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze... Not a bad idea.

That's right of course.

My mistake.

Poor tackle from Tollefsen, but I think it looks a bit worse than it actually was.

The helmet coming off and the Slovak hitting his head on the ice was a bit unlucky. Then again, Tollefsen does raise his elbow.

Stupid thing to do on all accounts though, maybe we could have won with him on the ice.

Gonna pull an all-nighter, Stove?

Would like to, but I think I'll have to sacrifice the Czech Republic - Finland game at least to get a couple of hours sleep since I'm working tomorrow. But I'll be watching the other three games.

I'm probably going to do much of the same. Can't be arsed to watch the Finland game, but the others... I overslept for the Norway game today, though. I'll try not to do the same for your lot tomorrow :D

Any Russians on here? I want to start some shit talking before the game and make this thread interesting.

It'll be interesting to see how the entirety of Canada reacts when Russia beats them tonight.

Luongo in goal again...

Let's see how he gets on his second night in a row - this time against a team with absurd firepower that's been playing pretty well. Luckily for Russia they have a goalie who's just as good.

Should be a good game, but I think Russia wins it.

I'd luv it, luv it, if Northug and Hellner end up sprinting for the gold.
