Wimbledon 2013

You can tell he's a bit green around the gills. With experience he'll probably realise that hitting the ball as hard as possible does not win you points.

Well done to Murray though. This is his window right now if he ever wants to win this tournament.

I can't seem him beating Novak who is in form as well. In fact I am predicting a 3 set win for the Serb

I really like Murray's shorts. Not too long, not too short. Not too tight, not too baggy. Very flattering.

good match!

Sunday is the one for Murray! (ive been telling the same for years... one day i will be right)

Nole still the favourite of course... Andy is so irregular. He just needs to focus and play at his level the ultimate match this sunday, he can do it.

I have to admit to not liking tennis much at all, although I used to watch it an awful lot when I was younger, but this Murray is the real deal.

I doubt very much he would have moved on to this level with a British coach. Lendl might be a miserable bastard but I always used to like him when he was a player.

Whether he's got enough to beat the other guy remains to be seen, but I sure hope he does.

 I can't believe people think Djokovic will win very easily. Even in 2011 when he went on that tear and beat Nadal in 3 slam finals, he never won in straight and that was at the peak of his powers. I think even if Djokovic wins, it'll be in 4 or 5.

Fingers crossed for Murray though, I've never been rooting for him this hard.

I'd agree here. I think Djokovic has a slight edge but I reckon it'll be 5 sets. Desperate to see Murray finally win it.

I agree, I think Djokovic will probably win but it will be close.

Cmon Murray.

The way Murray and Djokovic have played in this tournament unless there's a big step up from Murray it will be straight sets for Djokovic.

yeah lets forget his talent, hope he loses because he's boring,

What? There is something wrong with wanting the more exciting players/teams to win?

It's the same with all sports I watch. When I watch snooker, I want O'Sullivan to win, based on his style and not his talent. Rossi in moto GP, Djokovic, McIlroy, Shogun Rua, MVG. I would rather see the more exciting players/teams win in sport, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

He's reached the final of his last 4 Grand Slams, I don't think even Djokovic has ever reached 4 in a row.

Both Djok and Nadal did this from Wimbledon 2011 to French 2012.

Infact, I've been trying to think if the same two men had played 4 GS finals in a row and so far I've only come up with Djok V Nadal.

Two enjoyable games today, the first was a classic and it's a cliche but it's a shame either had to lose it, would have made a fine final that's for sure. Murray now seems to have mentally sorted his game, two on the bounce he's found himself on the wrong end of the scoreline and come back strong, not so many signs of the collapses we have seen in the past.

The final should be good, neither one is going to get blown away, and both of them have it in them to get to almost any shot you send at them, it could be a long drawn out affair, I can't wait.

Whoever wins on sunday, I think we're guaranteed a great match. I watched the first set and a half of Djokovic earlier and was amazed at some of the shots he was making, there was a shot where he slid along the baseline, and hit a backhand down the line past Del Potro who had come in towards the net, and the ball landed about 10 inches inside the sideline and baseline. It was one of the best shots I've seen all tournament, he had no right to get to the ball, and to place it so perfectly, with a backhand as well while being off balance blew my mind. If anyone knows what I am talking about and has a gif/video of it, I'd love to see it again

Probably the worst Wimbledon in recent memory. The two most generic players to meet in the finals and a completely underwhelming Women's final to boot.

This absolutely baffles me. We've just seen one of the best womens & one of the best mens semi finals of all time in the Lisicki/Radwanksa & Djokovic/Del Potro games and the first thing you can say is it's been the worst Wimbledon because the players don't have good enough personalities!

You're watching sport for the wrong reasons mate.

My favourite has been knocked out so the whole thing is shit.
Unbeliveable

So much this, the Djokovic vs Del Potro match truly was one of the best matches I have had the pleasure to see, and was worthy of any top tournament you could name. Plus call them generic all you like but the two mens finalists are the best two players in the game right now and both get to balls that no human has the right to get to. Forget their personalities I just want to see some ridiculous tennis.

I loved how at one point, after playing for 4 hours at the end of a 20+ stroke rally Del Potro still had it in him to hit that 110+ MPH forehand winner, I mean how fecking fit do you have to be to hit that at that point in the game. Ridiculous.

I don't know how anyone can accuse Murray of lacking personality. He has a boring voice when interviewed, but he has a very dry wit and is a funny fella. On court he's an absolute beast. How can you accuse a player who regularly shouts "fecking wanker!" live on BBC1 at lunchtime as lacking in personality?

And yet his opponent is was apparently frothing with personality, when all he did was moan like a bitch to the umpire

Personally I think Murray's awesome; the best personality in the game as far as I'm concerned. In almost every way watching Murray is like watching what might happen if you gave Napoleon Dynamite a tennis racket and he turned out to be actually quite good.

Yeah. This is a great era of Tennis, has been since last 8 or so years. Transitional one happened when likes of Sampras, Agassi retired and Federer was just breaking into the scene. That was when average players like Hewitt were able to goble up some slams.

Who is expected to win today? I have some free bets and wondering whom to back today.

Hard to say in my opinion, Bartoli is the higher seed but Lisicki has a winning record against her and the bookies are siding with Lisicki too, but there isn't much between them and the odds aren't great on either of them.

That's what confusing me as well. Plus with the Women tennis being weird as it is, any player is capable of beating anyone on a given day. :wenger:

Yep especially in womens tennis where they only need 2 sets to win, I mean if men played to that Murray would have been gone in the quarters. To be honest I'd use my free bets elsewhere, unless you have to use it on that match?

Nope. I can use it anywhere. But I don't really watch a lot of sports tbh. Just tennis, football and a little bit of cricket.

I don't suppose you are able to use any of those in-running? It might be helpful to get a glimpse at how both are dealing with the pressure of a final.

I think Lisiki is hitting the ball harder and in better areas. Bartoli is a bit of a strange player - a bit unorthodox.
