Wimbledon 2012

9 9 in the tie breaker. Nadal isn't playing all that well though its just the first week.

Nadal hasn't impressed so far, but as always for the top players they just have to make sure to get through the first week, doesn't have to be pretty. Then in the 2nd week they look like completely different players.

Nah, Wimbledon were strongarmed into changing it to benefit the boring baseliners forgetting that it's LAWN tennis not clay/hard/carpet tennis.

Any constructive evidence for this statement or is it just something people have made up over the years because "everything was so much better in the old days"?

Do people really think it was more entertaining when some big cnut was hitting big serves constantly and every point being done in two or three shots?

The BBC had a graphic a couple of years ago showing how the average ball bounce has become higher and slower every single year for the past two decades or something, to the point that the grass is now actually considered a slower surface than the hard courts.

Do you know whether they took into consideration that players play with alot more spin and don't hit the ball as flat as they used to due to modern racquets? For example, the underarm swing shot that used to be the standard swing for almost every player on the tour has almost completely disappeared these days.

I'm not questioning whether the lawn court has gotten slower or not, because it has gottens slower. The grass looks taller and more dense than it did 15 years ago. I'm questioning the statement that it was deliberately done to benefit baseliners like for example Nadal(who wasn't even on the tour when they changed the grass).

Well, Nadal has just put himself into a really shitty spot If Rosol continues to serve well. Credit to Rosol, he's done well. Could've been two sets up if he had a little fortune in the 1st set.

Of course when I put £6 on him at 1/200 to get my bonus from SkyBet just had to be the day he decides to try and worry me.......except I'm not even watching you Rafa, so fail on you for your cheap comeback.

Rafa going out I think. Rosol is playing at an amazing level. Really he should've won the first set too. It would've been all over by now.

WR8 on suicide watch.

Everyone cheering Nadal, how about someone support the underdog.

Yeah always bugs me, players give the game of their lives to actually give the crowd a rare first few rounds classic from the top seeds and the crowd turns on them once they get within a set.

Booing him when he complained about a clearly damaged ball was rubbish from that crowd.

This guy is playing really well. He is a monster, nadal looks hopeless there.

Please let this happen.

Who the feck is this Rosol guy?
