Yeh but minus aces he's 22/27 winners/UF errors. That's too much. Add to that 5 DF's and the only thing that is really keeping him is serve.

Worst match of the tournament so far from him.

Well his game really is all about the serve. He's not too great if you can return his serve well enough.

But returning that serve is bloody difficult

Federer after Berdych match said:
Q. You beat him almost every time you played him. Was he any different?

ROGER FEDERER: Like I said, I think he was a bit more consistent than in the past. I lost to him in Miami this year, where it was a really tight match as well.

But from my end, obviously, you know, I'm unhappy with the way I'm playing. I couldn't play the way I wanted to play. You know, I am struggling with a little bit of a back and a leg issue. That just doesn't quite allow me to play the way I would like to play.

So it's frustrating, to say the least. Looking forward to some rest anyway.

Well, when you're hurting, it's just a combination of many things. You know, you just don't feel as comfortable. You can't concentrate on each and every point because you do feel the pain sometimes. And, uhm, yeah, then you tend to play differently than the way you want to play.

Under the circumstances I think I played a decent match, you know. But I've been feeling bad for the last two, three matches now. It's just not good and healthy to play under these kind of conditions, you know.

So if there's anything good about this it's I'm gonna get some rest, that's for sure.

So yeah, Roger never complains or moans about injuries. :smirk:

And I actually like the guy too

Never called a trainer on and never spoken about it. Suddenly injured? :smirk:

Very classy Mr. Fed.

And I don't know what tires him out really. He skips many many tournaments anyway

Damit poor return from Rafa. He needs to break and prevent needing to serve it out twice

5-1 hell yeah! :D

Surely match in the bag now!

This has been Nadal's most impressive performance in this tournament. Since 5-0 down in the first set he's been unstoppable.

I love the Wimbledon crowd. They love him here and are great unlike the classless French crowd.

Love who? The Wimbledon crowd are typically British in that they just support the favourites. They were all supporting Federer in his match, they were cheering Djokovic and Murray.

They really seem to like Nadal. They were even supporting him against Fed in the 3 finals and that's something because every crowd usually wants him to win.

And it's a pleasant change from the pathetic French Open crowd we saw last year.

Them booing soderling when he was beating Federer this year was a disgrace as well.

 the typical British mentality is to get behind an underdog.

Federer loses, Bryan Bros lose, Nadal beats SODERLING. Murray finally drops a set...I finally learn how to multi quote!

What a day

Bah. Murray is winning. Hope Rafa trounces him.

This one will be a tough one for Rafa with the crowd against him.
But Murray's not serving anywhere as well as Soderling did so that's an advantage.

This will be hard but I'm far less tense about this than I was about today's match.

Nadal had zero points to defend so he's picked up a shit loads of points while Fed has lost something like a thousand points :D

Maybe Fed will never beat that Sampras record.

Nadal on Federer's defeat: "Roger did amazing the last few years, the last seven years, unbelievable. One day you have to lose, and Berdych is a difficult opponent with an amazing serve, hard shots from the baseline, so that can happen. But in my opinion, there's no one favourite in the tournament now."

Classy as always by Rafa

"Reaching the quarter-finals is a decent result. Obviously some people think it's shocking, but many players would die to play a Grand Slam quarter-final.

And he goes on to blame injury for the defeat.

I saw him mention injuries, but why did you bold that part above? That has nothing to do with injuries.

Oh sorry I copy pasted the wrong paragraph

Anyway here it is :

I'm unhappy with the way I'm playing. I'm struggling with a little bit of a back and a leg issue. They just don't allow me to play freely and that's what I was missing today

I see Federers doing his usual after a defeat, instead of praisng the opponent hes whinging about 'injuries' and finding the usual excuses for defeat etc etc, just cant stand the man can never just accept hes second best, theres always a reason, give credit where its due you arrogant has been.

Nice to see Rafa as classy as always, cant imagine Federer saying such a thing, Glad to see Nadal put Soderling in his place to, a comfortable 4 setter in the end, good job Rafa,

So im going for a Nadal - Berdych final :)

A bit off topic since it is about the ladies, but ... WAY TO GO Pironkova! My home girl has done amazingly well and if she believes in herself and beats Zvonareva in the semi, she will probably face the steroid monster in the final. We have never had a player in the semis at Wimbledon before. Really proud of her!

I expect nothing lesser from the Great Roger Federer.

Nadal Murray won't be easy by any stretch of imagination though :nervous:
