This is bloody pissing off. 7 minute break between games and Nadal gets broken serving for set.

Now do you see my point?:)

Nadal never makes his opponent wait 4 mins just for the trainer to come. If Sod wanted the trainer fair enough but he should have called for it the game before. Waiting 4 mins in a chair for a trainer to come is ridiculous. And that too a game before the set ends.

Wasn't it accusations of a tactical timeout by Nadal that you were fighting off earlier in the thread

If it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander I guess

I'm not saying he's injured or that he's faking, as I've not been watching it, but you need the trainer when you need the trainer. He's still not to know that there isn't one on hand for him at that point whether he calls it when he did or not

If the trainers not immediately available you should continue that game.

Or atleast the other player should be allowed to warmup

I really do hate soderling. Arrogant bloody swede. And he and Nadal have a history

Sucks when someone treats Nadal with the same medicine, eh?

I've said it all along and saying it now - MTO should not be allowed, or only after the set finishes.

Apparently even Nadal can be broken serving after MTO, what that does says about tactical timeouts and taking away the momentum?

MTO's are fine. If you need it you need it. But waiting 7 minutes between 2 games is shocking

Yeh, it's not acceptable, but it's hardly his fault.

You need the trainer when you need the trainer, and he can't know where the trainer is and how quickly he can get there

But as I say, wasn't this kind of tactical timeout the very thing Nadal was being accused of in that other match. But this is professional sport, you've got to expect this kind of thing, people will do anything they can to get an edge

Set Rafa. Come on!!! I bloody Hate soderling! One set away.

Justice is served.

IF soderling has a problem fine enough but call for the trainer a game earlier!

Nadal's through then. I read a statistic the other day saying he has never lost a five-set match. Given that Soderling's only chance is to take this to five sets now, that's pretty much it.

2nd set tiebreak in the Murray-Tsonga game, Murray really needs to win this, will be tough to come from 2-0 down against Tsonga

He has lost to Federer at Miami something like 8 years back in 5 sets after being 2 sets to love up and having a match point in the third.

That's not true. He lost to Federer in Miami leading 2-0 0ff the top of my head.

Yeh, I should have mentioned it only applies to Grand Slams.

That you had to go back eight years to find any example at all is pretty staggering, though.

Yeah true that. That's the thing. To beat Rafa you HAVE TO do it in 3 or 4. Going to 5 he will usually out last you.

And yes Federer also beat Nadal in 5 sets in 07

Nadal has around 11 aces to Sod's 15. That's a minor miracle in itself

Soderling makes too many mistakes, he's beating himself there, making UF off easy putaways, fh looks shaky. Since he led 5-0 in the first he fell into a hole. Shoking stuff.

Well, yeh, but that doesn't really count given that Nadal was clearly in agony for the entire match and playing on one leg.

He was?

or your just being sarcastic?

Nadal had a great chance to break at the start of the 5th in that match and he royally messed it up.

Well that's Sod's game.

He really goes for his shots all the time. Some times it comes off sometimes it does not. Against Rafa when he always has to hit extra shots it's more likely to miss

Terrible leave for Tsonga, would have been a fairly difficult volley, but it dropped in

6-5 Murray, set point on his serve

EDIT
And Tsonga smashes a weak 2nd serve long, one set all

Nadal's going to have to play a very very good set again to win this match.

Yeh but minus aces he's 22/27 winners/UF errors. That's too much. Add to that 5 DF's and the only thing that is really keeping him is serve.

Worst match of the tournament so far from him.
