Wimbledon 2009

The hatred for some of the women tennis players in this thread is getting a bit bizarre.

Not a classic but not a bad match in the end I didn't think, never sure who was going to win.

Murray on next.

I hope you don't mean me. I don't dislike her because it's women's tennis - I dislike her because she looks like a nasty little bully, and she acts like one too. There's plenty on the men's tour I don't like, either.

On a side note, how sad was it watching Ivanovic quit earlier? :( I mean, she was a set down to a Williams, so chances are she'd have lost anyway, but she could have at least made a go of it. Still, I guess this way she'll need someone to comfort her, so there's always a silver lining...

Media darling? It was a bit of a mixture when he was playing i thought, similarly so in the case of the fans.

Just like now with Murray you could say.

I always got the impression he was a bit of a golden boy. He certainly appeared to be in relation to Murray when he first came on the scene.

Now that the fans and media have taken to Murray, the cheese-factor seems to be creeping in like it did with Henman. That's Wimbledon for you though, I suppose.

Well how about that.

Have to wait to see if the injury persists but either way it was impressive. Roddick or Berdych up next.

Murray's already a break down? Get caught cold or something?

Just against someone solid who also wont hit a winner. Will take ages this match, the rallies are just like hitting a wall.

Williams sisters just won their doubles match 6-0 6-0 in about 30 mins, easiest tenner I ever made. They're just far too good here.

A Murray and Roddick win completes todays accumulator, thought it had gone but Hewitt was apparently just teasing me :)

Count Duckula, it was partly inspired by your comment though I am pleased you clarified, it was more directed towards the hate some of the Williams sisters have been recieving.

Hm, Wawinka could take this first set, not that i'm sticking my nek out a huge amoutn by saying so.

The question is how he deals with such a lead.

I wonder if the roof will be blamed if Murray does exit the competition today..

v.important game here.

EDIT: Crucla hold there, that Murray's way back into this first set surely.

Don't think it matters so much about this first set now, what a bonus if he came back. Just as long as he's ready competing for the 2nd

It's all looking a tad Scottish for my liking at the moment :)

Funny seeing everyone suddenly panic and scratch their heads over Murray.

Stan's a good player.

Comm already trying to blame the roof.

Murray needs to break twice now to get back into the first set.

He'll be up for the 2nd set no doubt about that. Can still see him winning this in 4.

Murray has already picked up enormously towards the end of the set, I'd be surprised if he doesn't win it in four.
