I saw some posters suggesting (in the Douglas Costa thread) that he is the real deal. Just read today, that he has got only one year on his contract and he isn't looking to renew his contract with Shakthar. Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in him.

Would he be a good addition in our team?
What position does he play?

When I used to watch Brazilian football he was always one of the best performers when he broke through at Corinthians, along with Ilsinho at Sao Paulo, who also moved to Shakhtar.

Can play anwhere in midfield really.

He tore the Juve midfield a new one tonight. Not an easy thing to do at all away from home against a midfield as good as they have. Thank God Chelsea didn't get him. Probably will be a scramble for his signature come the summer

To be fair they have Mata, Hazard and Oscar playing behind striker - all potentially as good as him.

He's quality, great shot on him too. He gets the ball at his feet and it's just Boom Boom Pow, back of the net.

He was superb, you could see from the start it was in his head to light up the night and he didn't disappoint. He'll get a big move, someday.

He looks good in that spot Behind the Front man but we've already got players capable of Bridging the Gap between midfield and attack.

Taken a shine to this dude. Seen him in all three games now, for the most part. He's been excellent in all three. You don't need to watch him for long to notice his talent.

Not sure that he'll leave so easily. I imagine he's being paid handsomely. He's got 8 other fellow Brazilians in the squad with him. None of them are slackers. It's basically the same team that won the UEFA Cup in 2009. Very few add-ons since then. The reason by they aren't being talked about more is because of the league they play in and that Brazilian managers don't seem to be watching much of Russian or Ukranian football and so they aren't getting picked all that much.

They look like they're a great team and I won't be all that surprised to see them reach the semis, if they don't meet Barca or Real before that.

Wanted to watch a bit of Shakhtar. Their record this season is fantastic, and I'm a bit annoyed that they clashed with us. How is Douglas Costa getting on?

He's only been used as a sub a bit so far in the CL. Lot of competition for a place in their attack. Played with Alex Texeira, Willian and an Armenian player, who's quite good, called Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
They'll hit their prime in the CL this season or in the next couple of ones. Their team is just that well built. Age, depth, home turf. They've got a lot going for them. Definitely the team to watch this season.

This lad is absolutely fantastic, watching the highlights of the recent round of the CL, and his goal was superb, but he is also involved in almost all of there goals. A real playmaker with excellent dribbling and pace.

Dare say it with the possible sale of Nani in the future, could we use Rooney, Kagawa and Willian as a floating 3 behind RVP

Aye looks a great talent, real goal threat as well

Probably the player who has impressed me most in group stages of Champions. Definitely a great player though he would cost a fortune.

Doubt it, he wants to leave and doesnt have long left on his contract(ends in 2014). Think he is buyable in the 20-25m range, specially if a club waits till summer although he might be gone by then.

Do contracts ending mean the same in the Ukraine though? Isn't the Bosman ruling a EU law or is it the same throughout the football world?

The Bosman ruling is an EU thing but I think that other states have something similar too. It's very illogical to don't let a player leave the club if his contract has been expired.

We should buy him without worrying about any bosman deal, the same sort of figure as kagawa should cover it.

While we are there we should get fernandinho too
