Feel bad for him tbh. Been one of the best strikers in the world for the last 4-5 years, and he is eventually going to retire with little trophy return. I feel like Bayern will win some trophies next season (as they have actually acted like a big club and got rid of their poor manager), but at that point he will be approaching 33 so it doesn’t leave a lot of time left after that.
Well consider xabi Alonso is staying, they might not win it next year either.
You can say that… 75 points per season in the BL is 2,2 per game; which is fairly normal for 2nd placed teams in the PL. Arsenal did it last season. Liverpool did it twice since 2019, and even Spurs did it back in 2017…. This season all of the top 3 clubs are currently averaging above 2,25 per game…

His contract with Bayern is till 2027 and it seems improbable they won't win the league and or cups again before that...
This should make it harder for second placed teams to get 2,2 ppg in the PL… but it is not. In recent seasons, the 2nds of the PL have been constantly reaching higher ppg than their counterparts in the other top leagues. Only explained by the PL always having 2 very good teams at least.
They may not, however I feel this is a lightning in a bottle season for Leverkusen. Plus you’d expect they may lose players in Summer.
That's not how it works. This would only make a bit of sense if the second-placed teams in both leagues were at exactly the same level every season, they are not. Although the second-placed teams in the premier league meet tougher opponents, they are also of higher quality, at least 9/10 seasons. Some seasons much higher quality.
There's a reason why teams that finish second/third in the German league get smashed by 7 goals in the Champions League now and then.

His performance yesterday was classic Kane in a big match...ie a non entity for most of the match.
He should go to Celtic next season

Can’t see you keeping Wirtz and Palacios.
I’d still expect you to be challenging for the title, but I think they will be a slight drop off, whereas I’d expect Bayern to improve to.
In terms of players, Palacios is already been linked with moves away. Wirtz if the move was right and I think Grimaldo will most likely go at some point to. Frimpong if he stays in his current form you’d expect to go to an elite side.

There's a slight possibility Palacios will leave (yet improbable still) but Wirtz is staying 100% until at least 2025
Frimpong and Palacios are my biggest worries though Frimpong isn't even an undisputed starter anymore and Palacios has been injured for 6 of the last 7 games or so. Both are great but Andrich and Tella are very good back ups. Wirtz is irreplaceable but will luckily stay at the club. I give a transfer 0.0% probability right now.
I also think we will drop off a bit because at some point we'll eventually start losing narrow games again. However, I'm not sure Bayern will improve. Before they selfdestructed, Bayern were having an excellent season deslite glaring holes in their squad. If they miss out on de Zerbi, they won't be able to find an adequate replacement for Tuchel. And as long Hoeneß is still pulling the strings, the club will probably not re-align properly in regards to strategy and structure. It wilp be enough to still be serial winners when Alonso eventually leaves unless Dortmund get their act together but I doubt we'll see the dominance of the Heynckes and Guardiola era again

Very different match. Yesterday Bayern where struggling and he completely evaporated. He is a fantastic striker but he doesn't pull a team with him like some of the greatest players do.
Very little, he even went public about how unhappy he was about these things.
This is the problem with Harry Kane. Is he one of the best strikers in the world? Yes, absolutely, it would be churlish to say that he is not. However, he is simply not a big game player, and the evidence is overwhelming at this point. And the fact that he is not a big game player is a contributory factor (not the whole story but A FACTOR) in his lack of team success throughout his career.
We all know this is a team sport but sometimes a team needs their best player or most talismanic figure to do something special in big games and tight moments to facilitate a win. Kane has resolutely and consistently failed to do that for Spurs, for England and now for Bayern Munich. His impressive overall numbers do not change this fact

It's actually hard to wrap my head around Bayern's failure to win the league. How do you take that team, add the best striker in the world, and fail to win the league you've walked for the past 11 years?
