Didn't see the game. Is he still the new Ronaldo or have we started slagging him off yet?

More Ronaldo than Donaldo at the moment thankfully. I hope he plays against Wigan and has a cracker of a game to really bed him into the side.

He's a brilliant player. He's just so exciting and quick. He takes on anyone he wants, he's not selfish as well which is a massive positive. He isn't just a kick it long and run quick player either, he's got lightning quick feet. He's fast becoming a hero. Let's hope he can translate this play to competitive football.

What a great signing. Lets say he goes on to have a massive impact for the next 5-10 years, he could well end up being the final Fergie player. What a tribute that could be.

Perspective, you all. It's only his 3rd match of football in, like, forever.

I like his workrate, and that he is always available to pass, and what surprises me is that he hasn't scored too much for Palace even though he is often getting in good goalscoring positions. His dribbles are obviously excellent on tour, it would be amazing if he can do those stuff in Premier league and CL too. I am excited too see more of him in new season.

IMO Zaha has been the best of the young players on the tour. He is very direct and scares opposition full backs. His finishing has been erratic, but then so has everyone else's. He will be a serious threat to all the premier league defences.

Love the lad already. Especially that he's not scared to take on players.
Here the highlights from him against Osaka:

His shooting doesnt seem that good. Maybe he was just nervous though, but judging from his games so far that's something he could work on.

I think he needs to strengthen his upper body to be able to hold off the larger central defenders; more game time to give him more composure and improved shooting -- see his pupils, they are massive like a deer in front of headlights looks, which is understandable.

Is he one-legged ie right mainly?

Shooting and crossing. Don't think you can complain about how he uses his body to hold off defenders at this point, he does that pretty well IMO. It'll definitely improve as he fills out more but I don't think that's something he has to work on per se, it's just a normal part of his development.

 Indeed

Apart from shooting and crossing like brwned said, I'd say he can improve on his touch as well. Usually it seems kind of loose and he keeps the ball pretty far away from his body, but that just might be his style. He's got very good dribbling though and is quite strong on the ball for a player of his age and inexperience. Once he develops physically he could potentially be a beast physically, being very fast like he is now, but also adding on a lot of muscle. He may even turn out like a bale type player, who knows.

He had that same look in his eyes when he played for Palace. It's not nerves, I reckon he's just really amped up to play footie and win.

Yes, and why the feck not.

Nothing wrong with expectations. Its just that the forum tends to go towards opposite extremes very quickly. Clev for instance went from being one of the best talents around to not good enough in just 1 season. Pre-season games is one thing, the PL another. I just hope people are patient enough if he doesnt rip defences a new one this season.

When that happens, have a go at them. But don't do it pre-emptively. Expectations in this thread actually seem pretty measured to me.

Fills out more? Any more muscle and it will be a hindrance, he is quite bulky already.

Nice little videos.

Does have an effective but strange way of dribbling. Seems like a crossover between Ronaldo and Bebe somehow.

Hair is a bit gay, but seems to be getting less gay for every match. That might be me getting used to it though.

I like how he seems to work very hard to retain possession. Seems to be a very tricky winger to get past.

I'd like to see us play him on the left hand side and see how he does. I've seen him multiple times there already for Palace and England youth but it would be interesting to see how he does there for United. I say that mainly because of all the wingers we have that are better on the right, plus Adnan will most likely be more effective coming in from the right than the left side.

Currently 7/4 to make the England squad for next Summer. Those will only get shorter.

Looks like Moyes already trusts him.

Solid amount of minutes on the pitch, when friendlies still not over, yet.

Spot on. People need a bit of perspective. Nice to see young lads doing well but over hyping them is counter productive.

Zaha looks like he has all the tools to be a top player - hopefully he'll become that.

I think he'll have a Valencia effect this season. By that I mean, he'll have his fullback beaten all ends up plenty of times in most matches. Whether he'll get the goals and quality delivery into the box remains to be seen

OK don't show this to him but in three years he is the best attacking footballer in Europe(World).. He looks so electrifying everytime he's on the ball and constantly making good decisions with it.. Shades of Ronnie and Zlatan and only 20?!? Deary me Paddy..

Strikes me as the sort of player who'll grow in a better team. At times he seemed a bit too selfish at Palace (admittedly I didn't watch that many games, so I might be wrong) but judging by this tour he's a very good team player. He's good at finding team mates in space (as shown with his assist for Fabio today) but he also puts in a decent shift defensively. Very excited about him.

I always expected him to do well and fit right in. He's a United type of player, and I reckon he'll be first team easily by the end of the season.

Looks very promising. Definitely needs to improve his overall technique though, both his touch, and his shooting technique. With his pace and power, he'll find himself in plenty of positions to provide killer balls or to score a goal, so he will definitely need to work on his finishing. His crossing seems pretty good so far, but it's only pre-season. Once he develops his touch/finishing, then we'll have a hell of a player on our hands I think.
