Why wouldnt they? Maybe not on a regular basis but i'm sure they keep tabs.

Because most of their signings are players they let go at some point and few end up in the championship. The other ones are full internationals not playing anywhere close to the championship

They also have a B team near the top of the Spanish version of the championship, full of young talents. They dont need to look at the second tier of the English league

You don't have to extensively scout the championship to be aware of its top prospects. I'd be very surprised if they weren't at least keeping tabs on players like Zaha, Ince and Will Hughes.

Why on earth would people think I'm being sarcastic that Barcelona will be scared of Young and Zaha?

What are your issues people?

Not only are you a cnut of the highest order you're also incredibly unfunny.

Get a life you sad little hobbit.

From watching those videos he looks like he's great running with the ball but rubbish at everything else. He's probably the first English player with a bit of flair since Joe Cole broke through so I can see why we're interested, particularly when we've already got two 'safe' wingers, but I'm surprised we've went for him. Certainly looks a similar sort of player to Lucas and we were looking for that injection of flair when we went in for Hazard so it makes sense. He's got great balance. Fergie loves that.

Oh yeah, lets change our transfer policy that has served us very well for 2 decades because the team that's pissing on everyone since they have the best player of all time aren't scared of us.

To be fair we had Giggs on the left and Beckham on the right for one of those decades, and Ronaldo for a good part of the other.

Having said that I'm quite excited with Zaha I think he will become something very special, better than Young / Valencia.

If you looked in the Zaha thread in the Transfer forum i've been saying it since we've been linked to him. One of my best mates is a Palace fan and he doesn't think he's good enough for United and he's a Palace fanatic.

Strange because most Palace fans I know say he' s the best they have seen at club; in the end nobody knows if he will hack it until he has had time playing under the United spotlight - that' s tough as we have seen with De Gea.

Why? Like Guardiola said when Barcelona played Arsenal, Wilshire? We have Wilshires in our B team

speed, balance, strength, skill, intelligence and confidence. Looks like a team player too...hopefully he'll turn out a bargain!

Ekeke is just moody because we didn't sign someone he can brag to his mates about. Like he always is.

I'm happy we signed him.

I dont know why people's issues lead them to believe I'm not serious that Barcelona will be worried about Young and Zaha next season. Thats a lot of money spent on 2 English wingers for exactly that reason, to be doing the job in big matches. Obviously Zaha isnt quite ready and thats why its good he stays on loan. But we're talking a year from now our new set of wingers coming in at over £25 million will be expected to take on all comers.

The money seems extreme but if a year from now they're doing what you'd expect given that investment, then great

From what I can see, the youtube vids don't really include much footage from this season. He's supposed to have made great progress with his final ball this year, but is getting double or triple marked out of games.

How much did Barca spend on Sanchez again ? And how much did they spend on Villa to play him on the wings ?

It's not like they have some deadly winger/Wing forward combo like Real either.

Do you really think they scout the championship? And while Young is a full international I wouldnt be surprised if most of their players havent heard of him

:wenger:

Serious ?

fecking hell Redcafe, worrying that our new young signing is wearing an Imogen Thomas tshirt, when he clearly isn't.

Youtube videos are never accurate in evaluating a player, but from watching those videos, I just cannot agree that he's looked rubbish at everything but running with the ball.

In saying that, I haven't watched him live very often at all. I'll be watching a lot of CPFC matches from now though.

Some trying their hardest to find a reason not to like him.

Don't worry, read his twitter page and you'll soon have all the reasons in the world not to like him.

I wouldn't say that, Rooney had plenty of flair when we first got him. Decent enough signing for £10m, probably better value than Jones.

Signed a 5 1/2 year deal and passed his medical according to Bryan Swanson of Sky Sports.

Wilfried Zaha ‏@wilfriedzaha

WOW I am so excited, its been a very exhausting day, but at last delighted to end all speculation THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your support

Welbeck was struggling in the championship at the same age, btw.

Not that he's in competition with him anyway.

Looking forward to seeing him at United and hopefully he has a good career at the club.

Just hope he turns into a Gareth Bale rather than an Ashley Young.

Impossible to tell at this stage. Best of luck to him.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief the football world doesnt revolve around the England national team.

Huh ? Who said that ?

You seem to have a OTT dislike for English league and English players tbh. And Football players knowing other top players at other clubs doesn't mean their world revolves around them.

Barcelona? Alves and Alba are pretty good wings

Yes they overpay all the time. Not too sure what thats got to do with Zaha and Young causing them lots of problems (hopefully).

I like this signing a lot. Every time I've seen him he's look really promising.

I'm not gunna claim he's the new Maradona and Georgie Best though
