Nowhere near good enough for United, I'd bite their hands off for £10 mil!

Hes a strange player. Brilliant dribbler but generally a poor striker of the ball. Certain things in his technique and understanding of the game are very poor for someone who has come through a professional academy and hes too unpredictable for his own team mates

Is he a brilliant dribbler? All I see is him kicking the ball and running after it. When he has some space it’s effective, but it seems to me his close technique is quite poor.

I agree that’s he’s too unpredictable for his team mates and that’s why I don’t think he will make it here (among other things that is).

Nope, not really. Attempts about 385 tricks a game, of which, about 5 come off. Good cameo today, and his pace can definitely change games and be great for teams like Palace. But thats his level.

Yeah your probably right actually, can look brilliant when it comes off but when it doesnt he looks clueless

Good cameo but Walker can't defend, Zaha could just bundle through him.

He uses the same ball roll then flick with the inside of his foot that Jay-Jay Okocha used, but without the finesse afterwards. I think he could be useful against the lesser teams where they may choose to pay more attention to our other attackers and he can benefit from the extra space but against the top sides defenders I don't think he's got anywhere near enough technical ability nor brains to be effective.

He has talent but talent is only one aspect.

Think he'll have a good career in the middle to lower reaches of the PL. Nothing more.

I don't see how he's a brilliant dribbler at all.

I don't think that Van Gaal would touch him with a barge pole. He is a useful player for a lower Premier League side as we saw today. He hasn't developed a bit since he first hit the scene. He plays without fear but also without brains.

10 mil is nothing, I would rather risk loaning him again next year to PL club if he does well at Palace for rest of the season. I think we can always sell him for about 5-8 mil pounds.

Apparently there is already an option to buy him for 8mil or so.

They have already payed us for him (don't know how much, and Cardiff also payed some money for him), so we should make some money anyway.

I think people are overly harsh. He might not have the right mentality. I wouldn't know. Never had a conversation with him. He has real talent. He can cause panic. Some people make him sound like a clown. You would be surprised what belief can do to a player and people would be wise to look at Adnan last season and this season. I think he's frustrated (Zaha) and I can't say I blame him!

Wouldn't you be? You sign for Sir Alex! Wow. You end the season well with Palace and then you have to impress David Moyes and the guy loans you out so immediately from cloud 9 you don't know if your career is over before it's even begun. We've not seen him settled and allowed to bed into the team. If you don't pay attention, you probably say the same about a certain Nick Powell. These kids have potential and zero support from some people. Zaha isn't a clown. He's a United player and if we can fine tune him. If he can mature (he's still young enough), he would improve us because he's the type of player we're currently missing. A player, like Nani who is unpredictable and can produce a moment of magic but people these days are quick to jump on people.

I'd sell him to be honest. Pleased he is doing well and there is some potential there but I just don't think he'll have the intelligence to be a top player for us.

Will never be good enough. Doesn't start for Palace and his competition is Bolasie and Jason feckin Puncheon.

Bolasie is always good when I see him and didn't Jason Fecking Puncheon score the winner today via a deflected Zaha assist?

I like you. Reasonable post in an unreasonable thread.

Yep expecting a player who despite 164 senior appearances cannot get a game in one of the poorest sides in the league to wake up one morning a player of Manchester United quality is reasonable. Or maybe what's reasonable is the comparison with Nani who at Zahas age had played over 76 games for a powerhouse in Portugal including 8 appearances in the champions league along with being capped by his national team.

Proper reason would have you see that despite this "talent" he never reached double figures in the championship, best being 9 in 2011-12 after playing 48 games. Played a grand total of 2 games for us before being sent on loan to Cardiff where his attitude absolutely stunk not to mention the massive contribution of nothing in 11 and now he finds himself being kept out of a poor side by a winger who has been on loan 4 times in 4 years and another who has only 4 goals in 98 appearances for Palace. Today Bolasie wasn't available....Barry Bannan got picked ahead of Zaha. But according to your reason "this is the type of player we're currently missing". A Crystal Palace substitute.

Bingo.

He's just not good enough. It really is that boring, and that simple.

Hopefully he puts in a few more decent performances and we can get most of our money back from Palace in the summer.

Maybe I have low standards but I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell him. He has the talent and I'd say it's worth loaning him out for another year if that's what it takes to see him if he can do it on a more consistent basis.

Not a fan. I see more quality in the likes of Schlupp, Bolasi, Ayoze Perez and Mahrez but I wouldn't be desperate for us to sign those lot.

He has potential. Fergie didn't do a lot of Bebe. I say we give him a chance under LVG, who said that - and I also believe him - he can improve any player. If Zaha can be as hardworking as Young, it'll be a very good start.

Absolutely spot on. Never given the chance. England will never develop any naturally creative players for the national team cause we give them zero confidence to go and play. Adnan may suffer the same way if we are not careful. For most of us, we say the performances pre-season and most we excited about him pushing for a first team start. I get the feeling like most young players, they need a manager and fans that believe in them. The level of negativity towards our young plays is ridiculous.....
All I'm going to say is Paul Pogba. Anyone got a spare 50m?

I'll see you Pogba and raise you Wilson, McNair, Blackett, Kane, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Shaw, etc etc.

Zaha was never good enough and shouldn't have been bought in the first place. You could give him as many chances as you wish, he'd never be good enough for Utd.

That really isn't impressive at all.

I'm sorry but he's been dropped by Palace for not turning up to the game at the same time as his team mates, poor professionalism. The same lack of professionalism which in pre- season LvG told all the players they don't have to turn in the next day, everyone else did apart from this fella.
This loan is his chance to show the manager what he can do and he's not achieving the level he should be, he'll be off in the summer and good riddance.

Gareth Bale was dropped for Benoit Assou Ekotto around similar age IIRC.

Most of this board would have seemingly sold Bale for 5 million at 21 and released Kane on a free.

If we think he has the talent then should keep in the squad for atleast half a season or 1 season more.

Dribbling close to Januzaj level but he hardly creates any chances, and I don't even think Januzaj's close to ready at the moment.

Used to do match reports at Selhurst Park and Clyne always impressed me more. Zaha like a more fun version of Andros Townsend, with a useful habit for creating goals even if it looks fluked.
