Strikers from the Dutch league. So tough to predict.

Maybe Spurs to take a punt on him?

They will definitely be in for a striker this Summer. I have a feeling that Benteke will leave Villa though and Spurs should be in for him but if they don't manage to, Bony could be another option.

Yeah. For every Romario, Ronaldo (Brazilian), Ruud, Huntelaar, Suarez there is an Afonso Alves, Kezman, Luuk de Jong (who has time on his side though, but has been thoroughly shit for Moenchengladbach so far in the Bundesliga) etc. Even Kuyt scored shitloads at Feyenoord but turned into a defensive striker at Liverpool.

Never seen this Bony chap, but his stats look pretty good. Made the step up from the Czech league effortlessly it seems.. but well, he might already be 36 and not 24.

He reminds me a bit of Yakubu, seems a fairly clinical finisher with reasonable pace and great strength, and can absolutely hammer the ball.

Have not seen enough of him to rate his technical ability but seems a good penalty box poacher, heads goals for fun.

Tottenham could certainly do worse, and would fit in with their style of play.

From the little I saw I didn't think he looked like a top finisher that would transfer that kind of goals record to a top league but he'd contribute enough in the build-up to be well worth a punt for a Europa League team.

Spurs signed him in my FIFA career. They came second for a few seasons and made a few cup finals (United finish 8th every year by the way - the realism) but he left and they fell apart. Clearly Bony will bring nothing but pain in the long run.

I could see him signing for west ham and making an interesting bony-pony combination up front with Carroll.

Whenever I hear 'Eredivisie' and 'top goalscorer' in the same sentence, it's very difficult not to think of Afonso Alves.

Or Suarez or ronaldo, :p

37 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions including internationals. Quite interested in this lad now, only 24.

Apparently Swansea are on the verge of signing him for £10 million.

Looks like he'll be another Eredivise top scorer flop.

He looks like Kenwyne Jones did when he first came to the PL. Just run around and be as physical as possible. But you soon learn that it takes more than brute strength to survive in the PL unless you're Andy Carroll.

Brute strength+speed will always be enough to survive in the PL.

It was a nice assist for Davies' goal at the weekend to be fair. Not something I can imagine Kenwyne Jones puling off.

But not to be something great in a team that want to pass the ball around also. But like I said, adapting to the speed and the nature of the tight defending is where a striker learns and grows. Which is why it's better to come to England early and grow into the league rather than try to adapt at your peak.

I should have also said 'a bit like Jones'. Not in stature and ability just in using his raw strenght to try and boss defenders around.

Seen him use good technique in his finishing, but aside from that. His touch is usually poor and I've seen him miss lots of headed chances already

Looks to have a good technique when striking the ball but yeh, I've not been particularly impressed. Still, harsh to call him a flop before September's out!

That was some finish against Spurs. And a brilliant bit of skill on the side of the box afterwards. Not sure how consistent this guy is but he certainly does some impressive stuff.

To think someone mentioned him in the "Worst players in the Premier League" thread yesterday.

Yeah was thinking the same. God forbid a player takes time to adapt to a new league and a team that plays a completely different style of football than his former club.

I think he has been a good signing and he has looked far more composed over the last month or so.

He can certainly shoot, he's shown that much right from the first game I saw him Vs. Valencia where he did the same taking his goal well. Very awkward touch and buildup play for the most part though

If he had pace he'd be mentioned alongside the best strikers in the world but sadly he doesn't. Under a system that is strictly built towards getting the best out of him he'll be a marvel in this league. He's so strong and hits the ball so cleanly with very little back lift that he's always going to be a hassle to play against. He's also good with the ball at his feet and in the air.

He's sort of shit, but shitly effective, or effectively shit, or something.
